  1. I like Sergio, I was hoping he would win. Him or Ishe. Glad to see that retard Jesse go down. Stupid Jesse. Besides. Ahmed already won. He takes home his ridiculously hot girlfriend.
  2. A lot of the EU stuff is garbage. I thought Shadows of the Empire was pretty good, and the Zahn stuff was alright. It was all just kind of pointless eventually. Every book came up with their own explanations of how things worked (like how Zahn had the Emperor controlling Imperial Fleets with the Force or whatever), or added a bunch of extra shit I cared nothing about. And the Rebels always won, no matter what psycho weapon the Imperials found. Stupid Rebels. I wasn't expecting much out of ROTS, since I'd heard about some of the cheesy parts like Vader's "Mendooooooozaaaaaa!" moment. But I was really blown away. I loved that movie, I'd put it up there with Empire as my favorite Star Wars flick. Excellent stuff, did a way better job of actually establishing the characters and making Vader very sympathetic. And making Palpatine an evil bastard. He ruled. I thought watching the Jedi get slaughtered would be fun, but instead it was rather depressing. Especially Conehead and the Younglings. Obi Wan's fight with Anakin was awesome (though kind of silly at times); actually, all of the action sequences really impressed me. The only "meh" performance was from Amidala. But at least she looked pretty good. I'm definately seeing ROTS again.
  3. That is a pretty decent ep for an intro, helps explain all of the issues surrounding Angel from an outsider's point of view. I think I posted this before, but my first Angel ep was "Are You Now..." and it's an excellent hour of television. You don't need to know anything about Angel himself, and the storyline was really well done, with some nice twists (what's her face blaming Angel, Angel getting hung, Angel letting everyone die). Very satisfying hour of television, no hokey stuff (very important!). Really good standalone episode.
  4. You like the GC/N64 stick over the PS2 sticks? Are you drunk?
  5. The iPod has proven that people will pay a ridiculous amount for a high-tech gizmo. I wouldn't be shocked if all of the consoles were around the 400-450+ range.
  6. She's setting herself up for leadership. As of right now, she has complete deniability of everything Gomery ("I wasn't a member of the Liberal party at that time), she's responsible for cleaning up after Gomery (similar to what Ujjal Dosanjh did in BC as the Attourney General during Glen Clark's last administration). Assuming Martin is around for a few more terms, she could move from Captain Gomery to AG or possibly Finance, and take a similar road that Martin himself took to leadership.
  7. Why yes, yes he did. He was trounced in one of the Surrey ridings. I was really hoping he would win though, just on the off chance that he would freak out and start crying and do a victory lap with the Canadian flag draped over his back.
  8. Ah, the National is great tonight, so many insane quotes. "Complexity was never Belinda's strongpoint" - Stephen Harper "I've said before she's a dipstick. An attractive dipstick, but still a dipstick." - MPP Robert Runciman "She whored herself out for power" - CBC didn't say who he was And this, from some freakshow in Alberta - "It's like Judas. When Judas betrayed Jesus". (!!!) and so on. Also, there was so many delightful moments in the BC election today too. This has been such an interesting day, politically.
  9. Anytime Stephen Harper is brutally uncomfortable during a Press Conference is good. I love how Stronach said she isn't interested in the Liberal leadership. Blahaha. That's why she's being portrayed by Martin as this woman of "high integrity" who is coincidentally in charge of implementing the Gomery recommendations. Though the usual Liberal leadership pattern says that the next leader should be a Quebecois, and Stronach is no Quebecois.
  10. You have to wonder what's going to happen with her moderate boyfriend Peter McKay. Does he still vote Conservative?
  11. So, how about Belinda Stronach crossing the floor? Insanity.
  12. Yep, I'm the same towards Buffy RobotJerk. Season 7 was such a disappointment, I didn't mind no Buffy as long as I had Angel. Lack of Angel still sucks, but they did end it well. And I'll have season 5 forever, which is good.
  13. Re: Suikoden 4 The encounter rate isn't so bad once you figure out that holding down R1 makes you go fast, including the ship. Makes those long ship voyages a lot easier. As for the graphics being pretty...are you nuts? The game is downright ugly when compared to FFX or SH:Covenant. I thought most of the voice acting was pretty well done though. I would also recommend a rent. It's a fairly decent waste of time, as long as you don't spend 50 bucks on it. Dama: If you haven't played it, get Ogre Battle. That game is all kinds of awesome, one of my favorite games ever.
  14. Amazing Race 8: Organazied Crime Battle!
  15. That was Patrick praying? I thought it was Lynn, out of habit I suppose. That was a very nice ending. Romber didn't win, but it's always about a billion times better when a team you like wins over a team you hate (Freddy and Kendra, Zach and ShutUpFlo). Though, I really had no problem with Ron and Kelly. They were both pretty funny. The Amazing Race people generally do a good job. Maybe the "family" one will work out. At the very least, we can watch them all self-destruct and it'll be entertaining in a car-crash sense.
  16. But which one was better? For humans, it seemed like the Empire was a lot better. Not so much for Wookiees.
  17. Please, Babylon 5 also has psychics and reincarnation.
  18. You don't need a job to play old RPGs. Just get an emulator and find ROMs. Play some Seiken Densetsu 3 and make up for the lameness of Evermore.
  19. Pretty much every major writer said it would happen, Mike. Philly fans were expecting it.
  20. Ender's Game is a decent book, but everything else he has written is trash. I read a bit of Shadow of the Hegemon, and it was fairly retarded. The Original Trek was a solid show for it's time. It wasn't about hard science fiction, it was about addressing contemporary issues via metaphor (racial issues with those half-black half-white aliens, class issues with the people who lived in the clouds, etc). I thought DS9 was an excellent series (from about the introduction of the Dominion on), far better than anything Card has ever done. TNG had a fair amount of compelling episodes as well. Writing off the entire show is pretty unfortunate.
  21. Plus Willow is pretty afraid of using her full power. Think Illyria would balk at slicing Will's throat open? Not likely.
  22. Useless Gretchen. Glad they're gone. So, predictions for next week? Judging from the previews, Ron and Kelly seem to have the best chance.
  23. I thought it made sense. Basically, the crew will follow whoever has the power and backing to take control. Archer took over Enterprise from Forrest in the first episode, and most of the crew went with it (with the exception of T'pol). Then Forrest took the ship back, and everyone went along with him. Hell, Archer offed an Admiral and demanded the unconditonal surrender of Starfleet, and even then only some of the crew rebelled. Plus Mayweather was the power behind Archer, without Mayweather Archer's first coup would have failed. His backing seemed to be fairly significant.
