Some NICE poundage from Franklin to finish. That heelhookhad me SCARED. Good fight, didn't make Franklin though. The odds are it wouldn't have, but it would be great if Franklin called out the winner of Couture/Liddell.

That was everything it needed to be and then some. Bonnar getting a contract too was the PERFECT ending, and those two guys' post-fight promos were fantastic. I love em both.

I think Forrest won on aggression and the cut over Bonnars eye. If that cut didn't happen, then Bonnar would have gotten damage points.

My guess is, the UFC will give Sanchez two relatively easy fighters (with good records, but they haven't really beaten anyone) and then give Deigo a title shot. It's a 6 fight contract, so the third fight would be a title match and were he to win the title, he'd have 3 defenses.

So that extra 23 pounds is just extra weight that does practically nothing for Florian? Bingo. Unless you're BJ Penn, moving up in weight generally doesn't help. I'm sure Lei will come on here and prove me totally wrong, though Dana White said they had to get rid of a lot of potential fighters because they had criminal backgrounds or didn't come up to snuff at the time, plus the Spike people had a lot of imput. So that may explain why someone like Florian, a lightweight or welterweight, was fighting as a middleweight.

UFC has it's favourite fighters, but a lot of the time it's a revolving door so they could bring in anyone. The current middleweight (189lbs) champ is Evan Tanner, and he would be a GREAT fight for Sanchez. Georges St Pierre vs. Sanchez would fucking RULE, but that would be at Welterweight (169lbs).

Florian was moving up about 20 pounds in weight, I dunno what Deigo fights at, but Florian loses a lot of power since he walks around at 160 and Deigo walks around probably at 190. Just think of that. When Deigo is doing chinups, he's lifting up 30 lbs more bodyweight. When he does pushups, he's pushing up 30 lbs more weight. When he's running, he's carrying around more weight.

They could time the breaks with the commercials. 2 minute breaks. Or they could show the whole thing and then have one or two huge commercials in between. I am assuming the former.

Diegos biggest advantage going into this fight is his size. It is very much possible that he can overwhelm Florian through size alone and GnP very quickly. If that doesn't happen, then he could be in trouble as Florian is probably more well rounded than Sanchez on paper.
