  1. This is such a silly post. 1. The Wrestling industry has never been a "billion dollar game". Never, based on operations, has the WWE ever came close to approaching the billion dollar mark. You are getting silly with numbers here. 2. The business model for the WWE is a very good one, there is no denying that. I question whether it was Vinces creation, though. Considering his business model for EVERYTHING ELSE has failed. Wrestling itself is good business that typically gets overlooked by people with real business savvy and attracts money marks and people with no sense. 3. The company hasn't been growing in years. 4. Wrestling had been around for over 100 years before Vince got his hands on it, millions of fans have come and gone without even knowing who McMahon was. To say "none of us are here right now", unless you literally mean in a WWE forum rather than being wrestling fans, is just plain blind. Vince McMahon didn't make my father a wrestling fan, and my dad took me to my first wrestling show, not Vince.
  2. The stock is tied-in with whether or not Vince is a part of the company. They consider him a 'creative asset' and he is the major shareholder in the company. He is also the public figure head for the company (which is probably why he got most of the focus in your text). The stock would dramatically fall if he died and they would lose a ton of money from it. The hole would be too big to repair from the stock dive alone. That Steph makes Vince look like Einstein when it comes to booking and Hunter makes Vince look like Chris Benoit in terms of self-gratification-on-television certainly won't help matters. If Vince died, I'd see Linda cut her losses and get out of the business altogether after a year or two and leave it for the kids to manage. I wouldn't trust the McMahon spawn with collecting my garbage, let alone running a MNE.
  3. I loved how they worked in Drogyn. I swear, at the time I was like "did I miss something?" cause the way Angel reacted to him was in a way where there had to be another episode before it that introduced Dr. Dro. It's almost like a parodying character, since its so over-the-top and melodramatic. What's great in this, is that it's the last time you see Wes as Wes. The full Wes. The insecure Wes, the badass Wes, the emotional Wes. Because after that, he was a changed character. Fred died there, but Wes did too.
  4. I feel dumber after every word you write. Fortunately for me, you seem to be unable to produce anything beyond one or two lines. YAY! I can't believe you are hyped for such an underwhelming WM. Are you 11? Cause that's about the peak age when I was hyped for Wrestlemania based on it being "Wrestlemania". Then I sorta grew out of it cause that event was WM 9 and it blew chunks. Since then, WM hasn't really proven to be a "must buy" event. But hey, they put all this effort into providing shitty storylines to shitty matches, might as well reward em by spending $50. Meanwhile, PRIDE and UFC just completely dog it when making their awesome cards. Who the hell wants to see the top fighters in the world compete against each other when you can watch perfectly mediocre wrestlers fake punch each other for 20 minutes with little variation and effort, eh? Taker/Orton~! Batista/HHH~! Cena/JBL~! WILL ALL BE THE SAME MATCH~! Shitty Punch, Shitty Punch, Shitty Kick, Shitty Move, Shitty transition, Shitty Punch, Shitty Punch. WRESTLEMANIA~! This Granddaddy needs to be put in a home.
  5. I'll let this speak for me:
  6. Actually, you don't cause you're a bit of a dumbass. But that's ok, you'll fit in with all the other folk who are excited over nothing.
  7. I'm noticing a pattern here.
  8. It was a petty dig at WCW, not an attempt to entertain a younger audience. RRR: Wondering how large various posters' rectums are to be able to contain both these wild notions AND their heads at the same time.
  9. We need a "Vince, please fuck me in the ass cause I'd really enjoy it, then stuff your dirty underwear in my mouth and shit on chest (if you don't mind sir)" forum, it'd be PERFECT for guys like you. Meanwhile, those with actual good taste can discuss better things here.
  10. I think LOCKE is really, really, really, selfish and his anger at the end was moreso him "losing his faith" than any remorse from Boone getting hurt. Locke believed so much that the island had chose him to do something special, much like his father did, and in the end it appeared that he was getting screwed again and he broke down much like he did in the car.
  11. The WWE is worried about lawsuits from Martha Hart, plain and simple. Or, even worse, *gasp*, having to pay royalties. If they could make a buck off Owen dying, they would. These people have no shame, they are scum. There is no choice. You stop the show.
  12. I thought he tore one getting into the ring and the other one in the back trying to walk on his own. Either way *does Vince strut because Vince can't*
  13. That is distrubingly accurate. Right down to the blue mouth and big red "RUDO" on my chicken outfit.
  14. I don't want to rank the episodes until I see the DVD and watch each 10 times.
  15. Dude, Carnies aren't exactly the best source of moralistic integrity.
  16. YOU USE CARNY MORALITY FOR VALIDATION!!!!!
  17. Jesus Christ. I need to see this episode 1000 more times before I can fully comprehend it's fucking awesomeness. Terry O'Quinn deserves a ton of awards for his performance as Locke; just when you think he has peaked, he keeps on getting BETTER. When he's at the gates, when he's in his car, when he's in his hospital bed - the man can do anything. I came so close to tears. Damn that music just fucks you and makes you cry. The heroin thing was a big "OH SNAP" moment. I love how there were signs that Boone would get hurt (hi, covered in blood!) and Locke ignored them because he has tunnel-vision on what is in the hatch. Did Locke know Boone would have gotten hurt and still went ahead with the plan? What if there is something trapped under the hatch and has been manipulating him to free it? That has been manipulating everything to free it? That's a mindfuck. I can't get over how good Locke is. The end with the light was the shows way of saying "yeah, this episode has been fanfuckingtastic, so we're going to OVERLOAD IT WITH AWESOME!! That's right bitch, we can go away for a month and still make it seem like we never left. We can fuck with you and you'll always come back for more." Jack going into the STD and Prostitute stuff with Sawyer was tremendous. Him shooting on Sawyer was great too, especially when Sawyer does EXACTLY THAT. Me thinks someone on LOST is a Major Leagues fan cause there's a total Ricky Vaughn thing goin. I loved the references and backstory with Locke and where he gets his influences. Remember back when most of us used to think he was in the military? Fucking MOUSETRAP. His mother telling him he was special, and that it was a lie. Walt truly being special. There is definitely something going on and its so fucking hard to know where they are taking us with Locke. I can't get the light flashing on out of my head. What an image.
  18. Vince is a hard worker and his daddy owned a successful wrestling promotion. Wrestling itself is a solid business property to own, and most wrestling promoters weren't very good businessmen or marketers. The "billions" came from an IPO issue when wrestling was a hot property, and when wrestling started to be a hot property it wasn't Vince who made it hot. Vince's "genius" came from taking other peoples' ideas and blowing them up, not actually coming up with his own. Oh and luck. Lots of luck. The real brains behind the operations was and is Linda. The XFL, what a putz. The WBF, what a putz. The Invasion angle, what a putz. Real Estate ventures, what a putz. Bob Costas show, what a putz. Tearing both quads due to WALKING, what a putz.
  19. It's not about benefit, once you understand that, you'll see why there was no choice in the matter.
  20. Don't forget about the possibility of Aliens landing and saving him with their Japanese technology.
  21. Fuck that. Aliens could have landed on earth with new technology that could have revived him, or even better, THE JAPANESE! At that point in time, Vince didn't know that wouldn't have happened. He did what any of us would have done: assumed Alien/Japanese technology would have saved Owen and continued the show.
  22. Vince says one thing and will do and believe in another. He says he won't be an in-ring character because he's injured and can't function in that role, not because he actually believes his characters time has come and gone. If he believed his characters time has come and gone, he wouldn't have ran out to the ring at the RR. Expanding into NASCAR is another word for "advertising on cars to get more hick fans", which is another word for "we're doing what WCW did". Nothing original, but its funny that he thinks it is. By "funny" I mean "sad". They have no idea what they're doing, and no idea what they are. Vince complaining about not getting premium ad accounts and blaming his sales people for "aiming low" is hilarious. Hmm, maybe it's because you designed your product for the lowest common denominator? Does Vince feel accountable for ANYTHING? He made his product cartoony, he made his product raunchy, and now he can't understand why his product won't attract serious attention from big, high priced, companies. Wanting Auto money, and then going into NASCAR means one thing (well, it means a bunch of things, the main thing being Vince is out-of-touch and is thinking way inside the box and doesn't realize it but it also means...) MORE CARS! WHOOO HOOOO! Cars + Wrestling ALWAYS means great things. It will be interesting to see how they push Cena and Batista. Will they actually but their weight behind the two, or will it be half-assed as always? He hasn't said anything that reflects actual insight into his companies current problems. Probably because he doesn't know. Great to see that McMahon Genius in action.
  23. I love how Circus Morality is supposed to be accepted. Think about it. Think about it. CIRCUS MORALITY. But please, continue, this is hilarious stuff. Pile on some more bullshit. Throw in "If Vince had died, he would want them to continue so..", it'll be great.
  24. Wait, there are still people trying to justify continuing the show? Wow. The financial loss would have been minimal in 1999. They released an IPO and had hundreds of millions in reserve, plus they were constantly selling out shows and making money hand over fist. Whatever cliche you want to use about "the show must go on" is complete and utter bullshit. Anything other than stopping the show is completely disrespectful. There wasn't a choice in this matter, yet somehow Vince still managed to think there was cause he's a fucking scumbag. The cocksucker even put the WWF logo on the wreath given at Owens funeral. Completely shameless and he and all those involved should burn in hell. In terms of the actual subject matter, if Vince died their stock price would plummet and they'd be gone within 5 years.
  25. That's actually a ... really... good idea.
