And they still managed to turn Orton/Taker into the "confident heel getting scared by Takers supernatural powers" routine. I'd work a storyline that has Angles baby die and him hating god and Shawn trying to comfort him by saying God gave his son to the world, and that God understands his pain, and Angle gives a total "What the fuck?" look and beats the living piss out of Shawn, saying "where's god now?! Where is he to save you?!" and Shawn continues to try and get Kurt to open up to God and Kurt sees HBK as the physical representation of all that he hates, and if saving Kurt means Shawn has to prove the power of the lord in the ring he'll do it, and if by destroying Shawn in the middle of the ring means he can get revenge on god, Kurt will do it as well.

I think the reason people aren't very interested in it, besides the poor hype and build (plus, there hasn't been a great musical montage), is that WM 21 is going to accomplish nothing. When its over, what's going to change? HHH won't leave the ME. There isn't anyone on Smackdown that is set up to face JBL or Cena, so that feud will continue. It's pretty much a given that whomever wins the ladder match is just fodder for Batista. If either HBK or Angle wins... so what? Maybe if they put in a Retirement Match clause there would be value to it. Eddie/Rey, whoopie! Seen it before, will see it again. Just there to be there. Orton/Taker, it hasn't been built enough to where Orton winning would do anything significant, and Takers mania wins have been regularly pointless. WM XX was supposed to be "Where it all begins... again" and nothing changed, it was a bit of a burn and they're paying for it, so why should we -the fans- pay $50 to see an uneventful event? People buy WM to witness history, and they simply aren't going to be making it at WM 21.

I think up until Batista turned it was a good build, but after that, they've hit all the wrong notes. Why is Batista thanking HHH? Why is he giving HHH all this credit? It's a total jerk-off feud for HHH, moreso than any other and that says alot. The idea is that HHH is going to get what is coming to him, so if Batista is kissing his ass, then what's the moral of the story? Not to mention Stand Up Comedian Batista being a totally needless add-on. Taker/Orton is ass. Orton can't carry it on the mic, they haven't invested enough time into making the result of the match mean anything, and its the same old same old from Taker that we saw last year against Kane. Angle/HBK I just don't get. They haven't botched it, but I don't see an actual reason for it. I don't buy Angles motivation since its completely full of holes (why is this only coming up now?). This match feels incredibly forced, where they are trying to push the heat between the two when there isn't any reason for it.

On a scale from 1-10, with 10 being WM 17 Rock/Austin hype and 1 being Jericho/HHH hype, it's about a 2. They totally dropped the ball with both big title storylines and completely missed the point of both feuds, the matches that are "supposed to deliver" feel forced and I have no emotional investment in any of them, and the rest is fluff. Meanwhile, UFC 52, PRIDE Bushido 6, and PRIDE Total Elimination 2005, along with the Ultimate Fighter finale (all in April), each smoke WM, and together put the hurt on Pro Wrestling this month. My recommendation, take that $50, invest it in something that will try to give you your moneys worth rather than give you the bare minimum. Any combination of UFC 52/Bushido/TUF, PRIDE TE/Bushido/TUF, will be worth it. FEDOR~!

Most consistently enjoyable actors.

Bill Paxton is awesome in everything and can do anything. I may have not loved every movie he has been in, but his performances are always enjoyable. Tom Hanks. We're talking about a 98% enjoyment rate here, with You've Got Mail being the only one I have seen that I didn't like. And I loved the shit out of Castaway, which should be insane bonus points cause he is the movie. -
That made PRIDE judging look sane. That fight stopped being close after the first round. Lemme introduce you guys to someone special.... ~Vitor Bongfort~ ....The UFC judges know it well.

30 - 27 Koscheck????? WHO THE FUCK SCORED THAT???!?!??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
JESUS SHIT that was an awesome fight. A BUHZILLION times better than I thought it would be. Deigo Sanchez is a very fucking bad man. How he was able to 69 his way out the takedown and getting Koschecks back (!~!!!!!) was amazing. God DAMN. 30 - 26. If it wasn't for the awesome Hansen/Uno match, this would be FOTY.
-
WUKALT:LAJT FKPOFAUJB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
DEIGO IS AWESOME! Submission after Submission after Submission!
-
Sounds about right. This has been a fucking war, btw.
-
They'll deduct the "failed" submissions from Deigo and reward Koscheck for getting out of them.
-
I'm going to say 10 - 8 Sanchez. I am fouling Koscheck for the cheap shot. Submission attempts and some solid shots from Deigo. Fuck Dana White, that was an illegal strike. It was the only good shot Josh got in. Koscheck has to win in RD 3, because he has already lost a decision.
-
Really good defense on the ground by Sanchez. CHEAP SHOT HOLY SHIT!
-
Oh man, that Triangle/Armbar had me on the edge of my seat. Koscheck should be working the body, cause Deigo looks a lil gassed.
-
I think if Deigo threw a flying knee, he could fuck Josh up. Flying knee. It's open.
-
Koscheck seems a lil more scared of Deigos stand up. I expect a more boring fight from now on. Thus far I have been enjoying it, though.
-
I wouldn't mind seeing a SABU gimmick with Fairtex, where the lights go out and he's standing in the middle of the ring with a branded towel over his head.
-
Really good takedown (set up) by Koscheck. Nice recovery by Deigo. If Deigo worked some liver kicks, maybe set up a high kick, it would help lots. Some reeeeeeeeeally nice takedown defense by Deigo. Impressive. FUCK YEAH! BUSINESS has just PICKED UP! I have it Sanchez 10, Koscheck 9 Sanchez got, what, 3 submissions on Koscheck, 2 solid ones. Koscheck got some takedowns, but Deigo defended them well and turned some into submissions. Deigo also hit Koscheck with better shots standing. Koscheck has been a little more aggressive, but it really hasn't made a big difference.

Forrest is fantastic. Like, give him his own sitcom.

Carlito Carribbean Cool... ready to go
RavishingRickRudo replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in The WWE Folder
The heel mastermind works best when the fans rally behind the face before realizing they were betrayed. (See Rocky in 1998) I've got the feeling that if this scenario was played out, CCC would never get very over as a face, and the fans would be half expecting him to turn back pretty much the whole way. *Nod* As I've said before, CCC as a face turning heel isn't the shock, it's CCC as the uber-heel that is the shock. Traditionally in the WWE, when someone fakes being a face and returns to being a heel "that's it". This takes it a step further. All this does is foreshadow CCC turning on JBL. Second, I think GAB is still too early to turn JBL. He won't be turning at GAB, he'll be turned on. JBL's rise to facedom would take weeks to develop. Under your scenario, he would have still been in every WWE title match for a whole year at the time of the turn. The fans really aren't going to be cheering for him to move back up the card. I agree that it's important to keep him in the upper card after he loses the belt, but I think he needs at least 2 or 3 months away from the title picture before they can turn him. I think JBL is a pretty hot character. Not a well-drawing character, but hes had enough time to develop where it's only a matter of time before people start liking the character because its different from the rest. "Losing everything" to Carlito will create a shift in his character, and as long as he isn't looking to please the fans, is alligned with Cena, and just wants to destroy everything, that should get him over enough. Do not underestimate the power of his promos, because he can get the crowd to believe that he's pissed off and will kick some ass, and the crowd loves to cheer that. -
Clearly someone is torturing him. Someone, PLEASE, save him!

They made a bunch of errors on their update, keyword, they I caught the mistake w. TUF finals, forgot that one. -
When I think about it, it got really bad for the WWE after WM 17. When TT said WCW getting purchased was the saddest moment, I came up with about a dozen moments after that were even sadder. If there is anything a wrestling company can learn from the WWE, it's how to survive financially even if you are burying yourself creatively and losing fans at a rapid pace. Shit, the fans who have stayed should be rewarded for staying, because I'm amazed that there are still people left. The real tragedy with WCW in 2001 was that they didn't deserve to go. The cruiserweight division was getting so good, with the cruiserweight tag titles, bringing in new guys like Jason Jett, Kash, Air Raid, etc., Yang ripping off CIMA and Knoble channelling Benoit, and Sugar Shane Helms just owning everything. Unfortunately, the double shows hurt the feel of Nitro and Thunder and there wasn't a lot of personality given to them. I think ECW dying was sadder, however. Unlike a lot of people, I thought ECW still was delivering in 2000. I miss ECW more today than I do WCW, and think they would have a lot more to offer current wrestling fans than WCW would have... even on a small level.
