  1. Blackflag, your sig, mixing in the Foxtra that IS Lilah Morgan and a Mike Tyson tirade just made you my new favourite poster "I'll fuck you till you love me" - It says so much...
  2. "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the road less traveled by and they CANCELLED MY FRIKKIN' SHOW. I totally shoulda took the road that had all those people on it. Damn." That's it, New sig.
  3. Work Hard, Act Professional, Show up on Time.... If they have nothing for you, made your name outside the WWE, you get fired. Now why would any wrestler be worried??? DAMN those irresponsible journalists!! The WWE just does what's right for it's talent!
  4. You can't deny that 12,000 signatures in one day is impressive. Do I expect it to do anything? No. Do I hope? Yes. Is it worth me adding my name to it? Yes.
  5. "And I find it journalistically offensive.” Quote Of The Year God I miss the Ross report; where every week we'd be fed all this bullshit. "I swear to God Dave, I wasn't talking about you. But, I gotta do what I gotta do, it's business, it's politics, you know that. I'm just protecting whats mine. BTW, we're firing Stevie Richards and Tommy Dreamer as well, but that's just between you and me"
  6. "“We have a lot of good things going on, and it’s just sad that because of some irresponsible ‘journalism’ that these rumors spread like wildfire, and within hours they’re ‘reality.’" "We have the most professional group of talent, as a whole, that I’ve been around in 30 years. No exaggerations. They’ve represented the company extremely well. It’s the little things: not being tardy, being participatory, trying to improve their game." "Chris was a model locker room talent – always punctual, always professional, great attitude."
  7. Jim Ross, Executive Vice President of Talent Relations, spoke with WWE.com Friday morning. Here are some excerpts from the conversation: * On Zach Gowen: “There’s not a living human being alive who shouldn’t admire his passion and dedication. Zach’s so young. We certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see Zach back with us some day. We wish him nothing but the best. I’m sure that he’s going to stay very busy.” * On Kanyon: “I’ve always thought that Chris Kanyon is a very talented in-ring tactician. I’ve always appreciated his being a lifelong fan because I can relate to that. The fact that the guy does have considerable skills in the ring and the fact that he still, at this age, has many years of in-ring activity ahead of him, it only seemed fair, if we weren’t going to do anything with him, to not string him along and to be honest with him and say, ‘We don’t have anything.’ And give him the opportunity to go wrestle because that’s what he loves doing. So that’s what we did. Chris was a model locker room talent – always punctual, always professional, great attitude. He’ll be a great addition to anyone’s locker room or anyone’s event. It’s just that at this point, there weren’t any opportunities with him.” * On Ernest “The Cat” Miller: “Ernest was in a situation that I’m not sure he was totally comfortable in, but we all have to adapt. Ernest has great charisma and verbal skills. We made the decision that there’s no sense in retaining Ernest when we see that we’re not going to use him as much as we envisioned, and utilize his skills as much as we had hoped.” * On reports that there’s a “mass firing of talent” forthcoming in WWE: “There’s no truth to the rumors that we’re getting ready to have a mass firing of talent. We also evaluate our roster 52 weeks a year and just as in any other business there will be comings and goings from time to time for a variety of reasons. There are always going to be times when people are going to no longer remain with the company, which creates opportunities for new people to be added to the roster, and we have several new faces in OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) who are ready to contribute. Talent rosters always evolved, since I worked in the territory days, in which guys would work in one territory and go to another. It has always been that way. But because there’s only one national territory, anytime someone comes and goes, it becomes ‘news. ’ There are probably guys on the roster who have read some of these Internet reports. That’s not fair to them. That’s not how we are going to handle business, nor have we handled business that way. And I find it journalistically offensive.” * Ross added: “We have a lot of good things going on, and it’s just sad that because of some irresponsible ‘journalism’ that these rumors spread like wildfire, and within hours they’re ‘reality.’ We just came back from a live event tour in Japan that grossed over $3 million. It was a great, positive moment for our company. We sold out the February South African tour in advance. We’re preparing for a landmark 20th anniversary WrestleMania. We have the most professional group of talent, as a whole, that I’ve been around in 30 years. No exaggerations. They’ve represented the company extremely well. It’s the little things: not being tardy, being participatory, trying to improve their game. We have so much to be thankful for. There are a lot of great things going on, but unfortunately some try to damper it with irresponsible reporting that’s total horse manure.” * Other examples of positive things going on in the company, according to Ross: “John Laurinaitis (of the Talent Relations Department) was in OVW three days this week. Dr. Tom Prichard is there on a regular basis. From the reports I get from both guys, and from watching the weekly OVW show, we are going to have, in time, some really good additions to our roster. We’ve got a lot of talent there with a great deal of potential, but many of them are at least a year away. The good news is, they’re very young, so when they finally make it, they’re still going to be young. We also plan on continuing to recruit some of the nation’s best amateur wrestlers as the summer approaches and hope to sign some blue-chip athletes to report to OVW as 2004 progresses. We have several top amateurs who have expressed significant interest in a career in WWE many of who are now training for the NCAA Tournament and the Olympic trials. Jerry Brisco has done a super job in this area communicating with the country’s top coaches and wrestling officials and recruiting these young men. We’re very excited about the future of that. Matt Morgan’s going to be working out with Dr. Tom up in Stamford; Matt has a huge upside if all the pieces fall into place. I’m really happy with how a lot of our younger talents are starting to adapt their styles and improve their in-ring performances.” * J.R. also said that the injury situation on the WWE roster is “in better shape now that it’s ever been,” and several Superstars have recovered from injuries or are well on their way to doing so: “Maven’s got his elbow and his knee all taken care of. There are no complications. Neither were major surgeries—they were just cleanups. He’s going to be feeling so much better now, and he’s going to get his athleticism back and be able to train pain free. We think he has a great upside. We’re excited about his future. Mark Henry is an extraordinary physical specimen that was beginning to step up when he injured his shoulder. But our injury list is shorter, and that’s great.” http://www.wwe.com/news/headlines/1253912?page=1
  8. Or wake up in bed next to Buffy in Season 2.
  9. Brock needs to watch some Los Gringos Locos tapes. "The Love Manster" Art Barr-ock Lesnar!
  10. I just signed the petition and when I looked to see where it was, there were 20 more signatures added. Yep, just refreshed the screen and 20 more... 11537 is me. We're at 11578. It's been 2 minutes. *Reloads* 10 more just added.
  11. Yowzas, that's a lot of high profile names. I didn't know so many people took part in ADCC. There's a lot of dream matches taking place there (Hughes/Ortiz, Sudo/Belfort, Kerr/Barnett, etc).
  12. Ok, LOTC posed this question to me on MSN and I'm bringing the discussion here. Since Joss (or more specifically, Tim Minear) likes to kill of characters, who do you think would be the first of the 9 to die??? I say the possible choices are: Inara Wash Zoe With Book as a long shot. I would go with Inara. I see her leaving the ship for a while and then coming back and saving them all and telling Mal she loves him and he confesses his love for her and they are all happy happy and then she tells him she is dying. Her having a Terminal Illness, I think, was where they were going to go with her character. Why else would she leave paradise? Why would she have such a fear of death? Why would she be on Serenity?? I think Serenity means 2 things: Life & Death Simon sez in Out Of Gas "I always thought Serenity had a sort of funerial sound to it" , and then he says "I don't want to die on this ship" to which Inara says "I don't want to die at all". Inara loved the ship the first time she saw it, it has a special meaning to her. She either sees life in that -sees that you can create a new life in that-, or she sees Death in it. Either way, she sees peace. I think she found out she was sick while getting her yearly exam, left the academy (either on her own, or was forced out - I would say the former), and found the ship. The chinese lettering under her timer means "short interval" - which we think is a joke because of how her clients don't take too long in bed, but it could very well mean she expects to die soon. It may also explain the needle.
  13. ... Are you high?
  14. "Xander and Andrew In The City" Ahem, the title was "Reconstructing Xander" TYVM. And episodes like this are best seen after it all comes to pass. Season 5 in Buffy is the perfect example where a seemingly independant episode from the main arc contributed something great to the overall story/theme. When it is all said and done, Why We Fight will become an integral piece to the puzzle. The Lawson comparison was never done before. Spike, as a vampire, didn't wander aimlessly, he didn't despise his existence or contemplate his fate or his role - he was a killer. They brought this up in the psychoslayer episode. Lawson was self-aware, he didn't know what to do, and he basically lived his life to get revenge on Angel. He represented a very specific part of Angels life that hasn't been brought up too much. Lawson also represented Connor, in a way, where Angel had to give up free-will to save the whole.
  15. Your apathy, while well directed at Firefly, saddens me BPS. Angel has been awesome over-the-years, and though it never had Season 5-level peaks, or Fireflyian consistency, I wouldn't exactly call it "distant" third. I'd put some of it's arcs and some of its singular episodes up against Buffy's any day.
  16. I just watched it again and it's amazing, bro. Awesome work. It shows how fun grappling and mat-work can be and that striking isn't the only thing that is exciting in MMA. That one armbar using the shoulder as a fulcrum has to be the neat-o-est submission I've ever seen (next to Mirs sub on Williams and Satos flying armbar). Q: Was that Carlos Newton in one of the clips??
  17. What fucking insincere, patronizing cocksuckers. FUCK WB! FUCK FOX! Television without Joss Whedon is like a Car without Wheels. It just ain't going anywhere.
  18. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Season 3 fucking ruled. Holtz was such a cool villain, LILAH~! got a lot of play, Badass Wes was created, the Connor storyline was cool, Fred was fun for the earlier part of the season... there was a lot of good shit going down.... and not to spoil it, but, (mild spoilers, nothing specific)you will see some things from Season 3 turn up in Season 5. I won't say what (as there was a lot of stuff), but it will have you marking out. . Just some excellent stuff. "Just watched "Why We Fight." It was awful I totally disagree. Why I did not "dig" or like the episode, it was not "awful". The parallelism with Angel and Lawson was revealing. Angel has lost his purpose since working for WR&H. It's a very significant revelation. "If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do", Angel has since lost this philosophy. It was best shown in the season premiere where he tried to "do his thing" and couldn't. It's shown with Spike as he now is the hero and "beat" Angel for the cup. "Following Orders" is another biggie, as is being controlled by a greater force, as is keeping control. These are the themes for this season, and this "throw-away" episode reflects -and enhances- it. Again, it didn't really do anything for me, but I can recognize it's value.
  20. "The complaints over the puppet's comments" *Big Laugh*
  21. "The mouth smashing moves, they really smash your mouth up, this is smashmouth wrestling." - JR. Cole saying Angle/Holly was EPIC doesn't bother you? I was pro-Cole between mid-01ish till now because he improved, now he's getting progressively worse.
  22. It was a smashmouth, in-your-face, match-up... I hate Cole.
  23. WrestleMania XVIII: The One And Only Figures, the WM I go to is named after a Billy Gunn move.
  24. Holy crap, I'm reading spoilers here and this HAS TO BE the greatest arc of all Joss Whedons shows. This thing goes DEEEEEEEEEP!
  25. I'd say he just is nervous and goes "back" to a "safe" word.
