  1. There were many pictures to choose from on WWE.com - there was a reason why I picked that one... His big-ass grin and the word "Stunner" on his shirt were the 2 main reasons. "That's our rattlesnake!" - JR
  2. Funny in the "Let's solve this problem by having Stone Cold pose nude for Playboy" level? Cause that's damn well not the level I was aimin for!! "Bah Gawd" - JR.
  3. Mole, do you live in Pennsylvania Dutch Country or sumthun? I lent the set to LOTC 2 or 3 days ago and I really, really, really, really, really want it back now. I'm addicted to Firefly, and I am going through some severe withdrawl.
  4. Maybe because they said "no"? You know, they are allowed to do that. I think we all know how to solve this problem...
  5. I've heard the opposite - that various stores have ran out of copies... of course, that may be because they bought a limited amount, but there is still a demand. The big problem is that NO ONE knows about it. 1 out of like 25 people will have heard of it - seriously, out of the people I have discussed this show with, ONE has actually heard of it.
  6. Well, Firefly is just so damned superior in every single aspect, that when I watch the "other" shows, I can't help but feel I'm watching a "lesser" product... Hopefully that will change when the new episodes come out.
  7. No, of course not, being a shill would be saying that UFC 46 will be SATURDAY, JANUARY 31st at 10:00 PM and will feature the excitement and drama you want from the WWE but just don't get. It's cheaper than WWE PPV's and with a line-up like the one that "Supernatural" has, it's guaranteed to be a great show.
  8. Ok, let's be serious... Any wrestler with a "portfolio" isn't going to be good.
  9. Investing in the future Of course, the future is not in womens wrestling, but let them have their fun; it's only the fans who will suffer.
  10. A team with whom he competed against in the Smackdown Tag Title tournament *and beated* mind you... Kurt is Insane. That should be reason enough...
  11. Pfft. Patrick, that's just gratuitious. Bashing the WWE and promoting an alternative at the same time? Have some self respect man... Fight Card Light Heavyweight Championship Randy Couture v Vitor Belfort The Big Rematch from UFC 15 where Randy Couture shocked the world by beating someone who was thought to be unbeatable. Now, 6+ years later Couture is shocking the world all over again after beating 2 of the top fighters in the Light heavyweight Division including #1 Contender Chuck Liddell and Champion Tito Ortiz. This time, it is up to Vitor Belfort to rise to the challenge and beat the unbeatable. Welterweight Championship Matt Hughes v BJ Penn Dominant. In the world of Mixed Martial Arts, there is perhaps no one more dominant in his division than Matt Hughes. Beating challenger after challenger after challenger Hughes has been building a reputation as being unstoppable. Can BJ Penn, the prodigy from the lightweight division, step up and put down the welterweight champion? We shall see... Heavyweight Frank Mir VS Wes Sims The Big Rematch from UFC 43, and they don't get much bigger than Wes "The Project" Sims. Standing 6'9, the giant out of the hammer house imtimidates all those who stand across from him - however, one man dared to defy which made the big monster mad. After getting himself disqualified by a blatant stomping, Sims has been regarded as a bully; and his opponent, Frank Mir, is seen as a proverbial giant killer. At UFC 46 we shall see who the true warrior is... Middleweight Jorge Rivera VS Lee Murray Jorge Rivera raised many eyebrows after defeating heavily favourite David "The Crow" Loiseux at UFC 44. Here we shall see if he can continue his success in the octagon and be the rising star many are saying he is. Welterweight Carlos Newton VS Renato Verissimo A veteran of the Octagon and former Welterweight champion, Carlos Newton is without doubt the most entertaining fighter to watch. His smooth ground work and takedowns along with a nearly unbreakable chin makes him a fan favourite. If there's one guarantee on this night, it is that Carlos Newton will deliver a great show. Karo Parisyan VS Georges ST. Pierre If Carlos Newton is the most fun to watch, these two men are definitely in the top 10. Karo Parisyan impressed a lot of people by not only submitting Dave Strassler at UFC 43, but doing so by using his highly regarded judo skills. Here he will be taking on the Canadian "Rush", George St. Pierre; a fighter who defeated Pete Spratt soundly at the last TKO show. Believe me when I say that this could very well be the fight of the year. Lightweight Matt Serra VS Gerald Strebendt Hemes Franca VS Josh Thompson Matt Serra made a name for himself in his fight against Shonie Carter in a match that will go down as one of the greatest in UFC history. Gerald Strebent is a submission specialist, which should be right up Serra's alley. Josh Thompson is undefeated in MMA competition and his striking skills are considered among the best in the division. He is fighting Hermes Franca, also undefeated, who is a BJJ expert with KO power. These 4 matches could very well determine the future of an open Lightweight Division.
  12. Don't thank me; I should be thanking you for giving the show a chance and coming on here to talk about it. I want as many people as possible watching this show - cause it deserves that. A show like this doesn't come along too often and it should be seen by anyone and everyone. We all should be thanking the show for providing such quality entertainment; and we do so by talking about it and writing lists
  13. I was watching some of Angel yesterday night - it was the episode from Season 4 where Faith comes back and fights Angelus... I couldn't give a rat's ass... DAMN YOU FIREFLY!!!!!!!
  14. I hate Bobby Hill.
  15. Todd Martin (WO recapper) is a fucking moron... ...that is all.
  16. I don't think we can muscle-up the testosterone to be savages. Perhaps vile fiends.
  17. "... unless you're the Dixie Chicks."
  18. Yeah, but that's only if he was directly (or indirectly) responsible for the impending implosion... give us a lil credit here.
  19. And Ontario is kinda like the USA of Canada... *threatens to Nuke Saskatchewan* *makes various films staring Brigitte Nielsen and Jim Belushi about the differences between cultures*
  20. Dammit! I'm bad! RUDO! GRRRR! STAY AWAY! *puppy walks up and nuzzles against leg* DAMMIT! *kicks dog* Huh? HUH? Who kicks dogs? HUH? Bad men! Men like me! I'm 10x's as bitter and jaded as he is! NO! 100x'S!! People want me banned! THEY DO! Once upon a time... *sigh*
  21. *sniff* People used to post that about me... *sniff* I must be losing my charm.
  22. ...Yeah, but that goes for any time of year.
  23. OR... at the Royal Rumble... "And the challenger, coming from the bottom of the ocean, SpongeBob Holly!"
  24. You don't have to respond to them all at once - take your time, spread it out... shit, I couldn't even finish it all... sorry for the formatting errors, for some reason it fucks up when I take it off word, I'll fix em... The Show Favourite Episode: 1. War Stories 2. Out of Gas 3. Ariel Favourite Moment: *Changes all the time* 1. The conversation between Mal and Simon at the end of "Safe". Simon: Captain... why did you come back for us? Mal: You're on my crew. Simon: You don't even like me. Why'd you come back? Mal: You're on my crew. Why're we still talking about this? It's akin to Buffy's episode "Family", where Tara get's accepted into the group. It's just a kinda feel-good moment that puts a smile on my face. Especially after his own parents disowned him and how he feels separate from his current group. 2. River's reaction to Book's hair. I love this. I have watched this scene countless times. It is absolutely amazing. *River looks* *River realizes* *River FREAKS OUT* 3. Jayne and Mal at the end of "Ariel". It's badass AND it's touching. How often do you get that? *Honourable Mention: In "Out of Gas" when the crew is sitting around the table in the beginning and around the hospital bed at the end... I love that shit down hard. Favourite Line/Lines: 1. Wash: "Everything looks good from here... (beat...playing with plastic dinosaurs over his console) Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive." (as Stegosaurus) "We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land'." (as T-Rex) "I think we should call it...your grave!" (Stegosaurus) "Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!" (T-Rex) "Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh...now die!" I LOVE THIS! Every line is fucking great. I LOVE THIS!!! It's quirky and odd and it kinda tricks you and he's playing with dinosaurs dammit! 2. Jayne: Anyone remember her coming at me with a butcher knife? Wash: Wacky fun.... Jayne: You want to go, little man? Wash: Only if it's someplace with candlelight. I am SO using that whenever the opportunity arises. It's fucking GOLD. Wash and Jayne do not interact much, but when they do it's well worth the wait. 3. River: They say the snow on the roof was too heavy. The ceiling will cave in, his brains are in terrible danger! Book: River? Please. Why don't you come out? River: No! Can't! Too much hair! Zoe: River, honey, he's putting the hair away now. River: Doesn't matter. It'll still be there... waiting. Books cluelessness, Zoes enjoyment, Rivers delivery... it makes this a fucking CLASSIC. "It'll still be there...waiting" goes straight to the lexicon. Favourite Surprise/Twist Spoiler (Highlight to Read): 1. Kaylee being dead/The Prank pulled on Simon. This is what hooked me on the show. The delivery of this scene, with the slow motion, the use of book, the follow up with the crew laughing hysterically and Mal saying "I'm a bad man" makes this THE best fucking twist and says "don't trust everything you're told"...which comes in handy when watching Firefly. 2. Simon entering the abandoned ship post Reaver attack in his space suit after being scared of going into it... basically, every prank pulled on Simon is my favourite. Such a great straight man. 3. Jayne turning on Simon and River. Jayne is not a good guy. I mean, we all love him, but he's not a good guy. This reinforced that. It also completely went against it when Jayne turned around and saved them. It's up in the air. It also put Jayne in Simons good graces; and they had been battling it out the entire run of the show. Mals reaction was perfect. Favourite "Shot" 1. River standing on the railings listening to the crew decide her fate in "Objects Floating in Space". It's just really odd and fitting and beautiful and surreal. 2. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Simon hugging River right before the Villagers are going to light them on fire. River seems oblivious and he sorta seems at peace knowing it will finally be over. I'm a mark for self-sacrifice and keeping a chin-up in the face of death so I dug the shit outta this. 3. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): The Police Officer getting shot. The build it up like this ultimate showdown and it ends up just being a quick shot to the head. Bait.... and switch! Joss fucks with you and you love it! Who doesn't love gratuitous violence? The Cast Favourite Character: 1. MAL! I've gone through the description of Mal in my undone Serenity review. I just really like the different sides of him, all of which appeal to me. Noble, Cowardly, Funny, Bitter, Sarcastic¡K you can't really find a character like him anywhere. 2. WASH! Wash is a character that should have his own show, but really shouldn't have his own show because if he was the focus of the entire show it would suck... he's better used in small doses. Such is the case in Firefly. People call him Xander-esque, and I say; Is that so bad?? 3. RIVER! It's more because of Summer Glau making the character than the character itself. I love what she does with it; the way she walks, the way she smiles, her reactions... all priceless. Favourite "Guest" Character: 1. Saffron ("Mrs. Reynolds"): she's really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, hot. Plus she totally had me played... maybe because I was focusing on something else. 2. Um, shit, I made these topics and can't even fully respond to them... Well, the more I watch the shows the more it will come to me... which is the great part of these list things - they can go on for a while 3. Favourite Villain: 1. Early: I have never seen a more well spoken, insightful, and funny villain in my life. Great performance by the actor-dude whose name I cannot recall. He kicked some ass too. PLUS the shot(s) of "the real" him were freaky and wonderful. 2. The Blue Hand Men - THEY INVADED MY DREAMS! MY GOD! BAD MEN! BAD MEN! I love the whole "Blue Sun" thing, which I really want to discuss but don't want to put all the good discussions at the start of the thread... gotta save some for later 3. The Reavers: They have yet to invade my dreams, but they still scare the piss outta me. They're kinda like the zombies in Ghosts of Mars.... infact, they're A LOT like them. Favourite Hottie (aka: The Jenny Calendar Memorial Award for Achievement in The Field of "That Funny Feelin Down In My Pants".): *With the interests of other posters here in mind, I will refrain from commenting"* 1. Inara 2. River 3. Saffron
  25. Dammit BPS, you listed before I could post this!!!! *Mal shows Zoe his newly bought Firefly DVD* Zoe: "You paid money for this, sir? On purpose?" Mal: "What? Come on, seriously, Zoe. Whaddya think?" Zoe: "Honestly, sir? I think you got robbed." Mal: "Robbed? What? No. What do you mean?" Zoe: "It's a piece of fei-oo." Mal: "Fei-oo? Okay, she won't be winning any beauty contests anytime soon. But she's solid. DVD like this, be with ya 'til the day you die." Zoe: "Cause it's a deathtrap." And so BEGINS the First Annual Firefly Listing of Favourites ("FAFLOF" for short) where YOU, yes YOU, get to discuss your favourite EVERYTHING on and about the show "Firefly". Even if you just got the DVD and finished watching it a week after I initially posted THIS post right here, respond anyways! And since I am Canadian, and therefore proper, "Favourite" is spelled with a U... as in U MUST LIST YOUR FAVOURITES! Cause I wanna know... seriously, I do. This isn't some list where I just get to chime off about what I love about Firefly and don't give a fei-oo about what you think; No, No, I care. So GIT TO IT! This isn't a "Best", so there will be no debating; you don't have to feel pressure about picking the "right" episode, or character, or falling in-line with the groupthink. Though I would like for a short description as to your feelings on each of your responses ... we all grow that way... sharing our feelings... *wipes tear from eye* *extends arms* Now, give me a hug ... a hug IN THE FORM A LIST! Let's GOOOOO! The Show Favourite Episode: What's your favourite episode? Is it something hilarious like War Stories? Is it something very well written like War Stories? Does it contain rich character development like War Stories? Does it have show-altering moments that changes the way you look at the show like War Stories?? Inquiring minds... 1. 2. 3. Favourite Moment: It can be funny, heart-breaking, brilliant, simple, whatever. If it's pretty important moments, like the shooting and the dying, better spoiler that sucka up! 1. 2. 3. Favourite Line/Lines: HEY! I made a big list of em over on Page 1, go there if you need help 1. 2. 3. Favourite Surprise/Twist: HEY! You remember when that thing happened? Yeah, that thing! It was great. Real Great. Some people haven't, so Spoiler your response please. 1. 2. 3. Favourite "Shot": Something that really makes Firefly stand out is the camera work. There are plenty of memorable images this show gives us; be it the first shot of River in "Serenity" or Book's head popping out of his room when his hair is undone. However, this is not just limited to visuals; you can also list your favourite GUN shot as well. 1. 2. 3. The Cast Favourite Character: Limited to the 9 main characters on the show: Mal, Zoe, Jayne, Kaylee, Wash, Inara, Book, Simon, and River. And no, you can't get fancy and list "Serenity" as a character, you arty bastard. 1. 2. 3. Favourite "Guest" Character: Anyone else other than the 9. Badger? Mr. Tam? The Dude Who Played The Basketball Playing Cop on OZ? Yeah, the guy who got his Achilles cut right before his try-out with an NBA team. He then cut Morales' out of revenge. Man, that was cold. Poor Morales. Then the other cop turned on him and told the warden and the other guards all got mad at him... crazy show. 1. 2. 3. Favourite Villain: The Blue Hand Men? Patience? Badger? Ath? Early? Saffron? YOU CAN'T PICK JAYNE! 1. 2. 3. Favourite Hottie (aka: The Jenny Calendar Memorial Award for Achievement in The Field of "That Funny Feelin Down In My Pants"): Ah yes, the LAAAADIES. A fine crop to pick from. Mainly for the guys, but you chicks can pick yours as well. You can base it on looks, or acting, or whatever gets you off... *thinks about River's feet* OoooOOOOOoooOOOOOH YEEEeeeeeeaaaaahh *puts cigarette in mouth* 1. 2. 3. Favourite "Hat Trick" / "in-joke" This is related to the Buffy/Angel fans. The "Hat Trick" refers to actors who have appeared on all 3 shows... since there's about only 3 actors, you can also pick your favourite "in-joke"; something that Joss threw in (intentional or not) for his fans. This is also a place where you can say "Didja notice"? 1. 2. 3. Favourite Relationship: It can be romantic, it can be friendly, it can be adversarial, it can be all three... and it can be with an inanimate object ("I call her 'Vera'"). 1. 2. 3. The DVD Favourite Disk Ok, it's Disk 3, but battling it out for 2nd is JUST as important... 1. 2. 3. Favourite Featurette (Disk 4): Joss signing the Firefly theme? Joss touring the set? Joss talking about the concept of the show? Joss talking about the ship? Joss talking about Joss? 1. 2. 3. Favourite Commentary: Almost as good as the episodes themselves, the commentary for Firefly is an enriching and rewarding experience... it also has multiple cracks about Mr. Tightpants. 1. 2. 3. Favourite "Never Aired" Episode Well, there are only 3... how convenient! 1. 2. 3. Favourite Cover-art Ok, it's a lame topic... BUT, you see it every time you take the DVD out of it's case so it's pretty damned important if you ask me; Do you like Book looking ominous? Jayne looking angry? Mal looking stoic? Zoe looking...like Zoe??? 1. 2. 3. So, Tell us what your favourites are so I can shoot you. Mal: Point of interest? Offering to shoot us might not work so well as an incentive as you might imagine.
