I think it would take a TON of time and effort to rebuild the IC title to the point to where "doing something" with it would mean something. Does anyone have any memories that involve this incarnation of the IC title? I don't have any. When I look at the Hogan-era WWF title (early 90's, late 80's) my mind is flooded with memories. Ditto with the old IC title (same time period).

Well they said that it was a former WWF champion, IIRC.

But it's too much fun talking about the product - I enjoy talking about it more than I do watching it.

It looks like a "belt" - like what you would put around pants. There is little elevation to it (like a mountain), and there is no distinction to it. If I asked you to describe the IC title, what would be the first thing you say? "It's circular and has blue" in it? There is nothing memorable about it other than it has nothing memorable about it. Let's compare it to Notice the bumps at the top? Notice how the middle actually stands out and extends both upwards and downwards?

Hmm... I'm thinking Dave Meltzer is a special investigator for the police who is sent to various places to investigate crimes - he is very particular and does not like to be disturbed - and then he is paired with Ole Anderson, the old vet on the force who is being put with Meltzer to "get him out of the way" of the regular police business. So here we have Meltzer's scientific approach meshing with Oles Smashmouth style and the rest, as they say, is history.

Exactly, I don't feel the need to watch it either. If I miss a show or two, it's really no problem. I haven't watched a full episode of heat in YEARS...

It's horrible! There's little distinction to it, it even looks insignificant.

A lot of people who have stopped watching haven't stopped posting - they just go elsewhere.

That seems to be a running trend this year - I'd like to see how many people stopped watching this year on this board... I tried to, unsuccessfully, but I definitely see the day coming when I fully stop - since I keep watching less and less and less as the months progress.

The IC title is worthless - has been for a long time now. Part of that reason is because it looks like shit. The whole title situation sucks - and it's so simple to control.

No, bad idea. We need more bitterness here. You can never really get enough.

Not to mention they changed the look of the US title - one of the best looking titles ever, and didn't change the look of the IC title - one of the worst looking titles ever. Dumb Fucks.

So I'm working on a sitcom pilot for UPN (possibly FOX or WB *crosses fingers*) that would feature Dave Meltzer and Ole Anderson - the working title is "Bosom Buddies 2" - but I need a premise... any thoughts?

You missed something special. Dave and Ole were going at it for a good hour -Ole claiming that Hogan wasn't a draw, that Dave Meltzer loves Vince McMahon and hates Ole Anderson, that Dave Meltzer doesn't know what he's talking about and that this is "Dave Meltzer interviewing Dave Meltzer"... it was so beautiful. I too would like a copy.

Oh, I was about to induct Ole into the Smark Hall of Fame before he pulled out the "You're just someone who wanted to become a wrestler, but couldn't, so all you can do is write about it" line - which was brilliant, btw. His bitterness, especially towards Vince McMahon, was a treat.
