There's also the possibility that having the silent clock is tricking people into making everyone think that she's dead. This is the show that prides itself on SWERVES~! The writers probably realized that people are starting to track the silent clock and threw this one out there to fuck with everyone. I bet she's alive. And now she's in with Jack and Tony.

Fun game. Good to not see Axelsson in the shootout. And I hope Blake Wheeler learns a new move.

Got it from deadspin, but what the hey: http://www.stltoday.com/discussions/sports...LD011609628/all I like the new Cardinal Attitude.

I think he meant the Astros blurb from the Keith Law Insider deal.

Just to get a head start I'm going to mute my tv now.

I thought there were two blue-chippers. Tavares and Hedman.

Wild matinee game with the Blues and Broons today. Blues were up 2-1 for most of the second and third before the Bruins scored three goals in under 2:00 to go up 4-2. The Blues pulled the goalie on a powerplay got one with a little over a minute to go. They scored by batting one in with 1.4 seconds remaining in regulation. They're in OT now. Just a wild, wild game.

98% of the channels on tv. Cars. Again, the beer commercialization of everyone has it ingrained that all men are gearheads. I know how to put gas in a car, I have a vague idea of how to change a tire. Other than that, I have a cell phone and the numbers of people who know how to fix cars. Celebrities.

God that game hurt. My entire body was hurting for three days after that game.

Yayyyy. Let's take something made for cold weather cities and ruin it. Fuck California. Maybe the year after we can have one down here.

The difference is that Chara is a better defenseman than both Wideman and Boyle. So? The Norris isn't the Defenseman Who Acts Most Like a Forward Award. Call me crazy, but for a defenseman to win the Norris, he should at least be able to find his defensive zone without a map. Something Boyle has always struggled with. Markov is at least 10 times better defensively than Dan Boyle. Who's the Sharks MVP? Thornton? Why because he has more points? Lidstrom is the best defenseman in the NHL. Hard to argue against him.
-
Dan Boyle? DAN BOYLE?! For all those points he's put up on a great San Jose team, he's a +9. He's never been great defensively, something that can be masked by playing for a very good team. Meanwhile, a guy you ignored plays for the other best team in the league. He can actually be counted on for big minutes later in the game, penalty killing, toughness AS WELL AS his offensive skills. Zdeno Chara is second among defensemen in +/-. He's got 25 points and, unlike Boyle, has more dimensions than just skating and running the point on the powerplay. If Dan Boyle won the Norris trophy, a zombie James Norris would run amock and destroy San Jose. MVP: Ovenchicken, Marleau, Lidstrom. Vezina: Thomas, Mason, Backstrom Norris: Chara, Lidstrom, Markov Calder: Wheeler, Versteeg, Mason Adams: Julien, McLellan, Sutter

Tl;Dr Zzzzzzz.

Chara is probably the MVP of the team. Sadly, I think people will be too blinded by Shea Weber's offensive skillz to give Chara the Norris. As far as the Hart trophy, I'm not sure. Savard is interesting because he leads the team in points, but he's been outshined by Krejci lately. Krejci's gotten Ryder back on track and has been the most dangerous player on the ice in most games.

Gillis just traded a pick for Labarbara. He probably doesn't want to let go of the guy this quickly after giving up an asset. And I hope Sanford enjoys Long Island. No DiPietro (possibly for the season) or McDonald now.

What happened? Again, the Scabs are afraid of physicality. And when they were up against it, every Bruin was being overly physical with every one of them. They took the edge from Komasarek by being up his ass all night. And they hit every forward who came in the zone, including the invisible (surprise!) Kovalev. The sisters continued their bitch play, with Andrea trying to cripple an injured Aaron Ward before Thomas punched him in the face. That was the turning point. Thomas made huge saves in the third, but the turning point was the sister getting a major penalty and killing any sort of momentum they might have had going.

If someone like Bert Blyleven isn't in, Jack Morris has no business in.

Shane Hnidy and a draft pick for the aforementioned Goalchenski. Goalchenski flamed out in Anaheim (Surprised?) while Hnidy has established himself as a quality veteran defenseman and mentor to Mark Stuart. Chiarelli has had his questionable trades (again, the Goalchenski for Versteeg trade) including the Jurcina trade, but he's also instilled confidence in the team by sticking with them last season at the deadline when a lot of people expected Kessel to be wearing a different sweater. He's taken risks, but he's also made good moves. That Brad Stuart trade looks genius right now. Same with the Wideman/Boyes deal that has worked for both teams. Ward for Mara. Fernandez for Kalus. Taking the chance on Wheeler. I'd say Chiarelli gets himself an extension after this season.

Maybe for fictional player Lacavalier. But for certainly real player Lecavalier, Higgins, one of the sisters and a mid-late first rounder might-MIGHT get five seconds of laughter before they hang up.
-
Speaking of injuries what's going on with Lucic? Nobody knows nothin'. Some were guessing he had the flu, but I guess he did interviews today and sounds great, but is still likely out for tomorrow against the Scabs. Some places are saying upper body injury, but that could be anything. He should be back from whatever it was this weekend though.
-
And it's a good thing that Kessel wasn't named to the All-Star team as he has mononucleosis and will be out for probably about a month. He was placed on IR. ... What the fuck.
-
The cap hit is the average amount on the contract. Lecavalier signed an 11/85 contract. This means that no matter what he's being paid per season, his cap hit always remains 7.727272. And if the Bolts trade Lecavalier for that half-assed Montreal package, they might as well just fold. Subban, a few picks, Plekanec and Higgins? For one of the top 10 players in the league? Holy shit.

And if Pogge doesn't work out, at least the Leafs have Tuukka Rask...oops. Well, at least they still have Rayc--oh, right.
