I like being told to stop fucking laughing when I watch a movie that I like because some people are that fucking close-minded. *goes to watch Napolean Dynamite*

Wells and Tito get run tonight, but Foulke actually gets outs without giving up runs and the Red Sox win. Manny hit a two-run homer to put them ahead for good. Tomorrow they get Halladay, which should be fun.

Thanks Chris. I'd say thanks to everyone else, but, you know...
-
I really liked it, but I didn't watch it to hate it. If that makes any sense.
-
Yeah, I could have sworn that the on-ice game was responsible for 95% of the NHL's problems.

Wow, you're going to be the greatest journalist ever. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Regardless of what Roenick said, their job is to report the most newsworthy thing from the piece, which is exactly what they did. Is Roenick making good points about hockey news? No, not really. Is Roenick telling the fans to kiss his ass if they didn't agree with, news? Yes, definetley. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He was making good points prior to his tirade though, bob. That's what ESPN doesn't report.

While I agree with you, Chris, Roenick saying anything along the lines of the "kiss my ass" comment is absolutely inexcusable. It's one thing to be passionate about your stance on something, but to throw the FANS of all people under the bus for this is completely wrong. He made good points earlier in the interview (something Dan Patrick brought up on his show today), but the news was that he basically told fans who thought that the players were spoiled to kiss his ass and never watch a hockey game again. What he doesn't realize is that NOBODY WAS WATCHING BEFORE THE LOCKOUT!! What kind of negative effect is it going to have on the remaining fans who were going to tune in to give the NHL support? A pretty lasting negative effect. I'll give you that ESPN is probably thrilled to be writing about the demise of the NHL, but Roenick's comments, while they may have been taken out of context as he claims, are completely off-base and may have just killed whatever lasting hope that the NHL could survive with the apathy that they have coming at them from the general public. Roenick's interview was good, since he's candid and willing to talk, but he took a step forward and about thirty steps back with that comment in the interview.

Really the only "reality" things that ESPN does that I've always enjoyed are "The Life" and "The Season". Tilt was fucking terrible. I've liked Michael Madsen's work for some time now, but not even he could save a shit show like that.

On the Dan Patrick show today, he was talking about the si.com available players list. Of the 12 listed names that are expected to be moved, the Yankees are rumored to be interested in 10 of them.

Yeah, and it drives me crazy. I used to work days, so I had to wake up at around 730a every morning to get ready for work. Now, I work nights and don't have to start work until 1p, and I usually don't get to sleep until around 330a. But, I'm still set to wake up at 730a every morning and am rarely able to get back to sleep, which means that on most days, I operate with <4 hours of sleep.

I don't think I've enjoyed a show that ESPN has done as much as I enjoyed Cheap Seats, specifically the "Putt-putt" episode that was on last night. That might be their JTS moment, however.

Unless the Yanks are willing to sell their season now, there's not a chance in anyone's Hell that Grady is leaving the Indians. Sizemore, along with others, are going to make up a core of young players that should have the Indians in contention for several years. It might not be like the latter years of the 90's, but the Hafners, Martinezes, Sizemores, et al. can and will thrive in a still-weak AL Central. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your sarcasm detector must be broken, since my post reeked of it.

I'm sure the Indians will give him up!

Firehouse Subs is pretty good. The girlfriend and I are addicted to them. We also frequent Jason's Deli, Quizno's, and Schlotzsky's Deli, all of which are miles better than Subway.

Eugene Levy rocks. He makes it worth seeing. Wait, no he doesn't.

Osgood didn't so much as win the Cup as much as the rest of the team didn't lose it.
-
Maybe Bonds can hook him up with the phone number for a great trainer.

Jaret Wright's mom: JARET KEEP IT DOWN, I'M TRYING TO WATCH MY STORIES!! Jaret Wright: Sorry mom, just playing video games!

Bases Loaded and Bases Loaded: 2 were excellent baseball games, especially for the NES. Certainly better than Major League Baseball for the NES.

Or in other words, allowed the other cars to have a decided advantage over them. From what I understand, admittedly little, they took the practice/warm-up lap to see how the tires reacted to the track to see how they were going to handle, saw that they weren't going to run well and left the track. F1 has a pretty big black eye here, especially since they're not offering any refunds at all to all of the fans who were shortchanged.
-
Why a bigger puck? As if the goalies need more of an advantage what with the defensive systems and oversized pads that they have already.
-
Not in the least. Of course, that's assuming you're talking about the 2000 Series.
-
BwG, where do you stand on making goalie pads smaller? I'm for it, since it looks like they have sofa cushions strapped to their legs, making it easier to smother the puck and there's more there to possibly deflect the puck.
