    NFL Week 16

Redskins find another way to lose to the Cowboys......the hurting gets a little worse everytime.
  2. I am not the only one right? I believe the Christmas Story marathon starts on Christmas Eve, but I didn't see anything about it in the program guiide.....AHHHH.

    NFL Week 16

EDIT: nevermind, they could still clinch this week if the Rams lose, which in turn would also be a good thing for Washington, and thus still make the Vikings less of a tough opponent next week. I don't say this often.......GO EAGLES oN MNF~!

    'Skins wouldn't get murdered regardless.

    NFL Week 16

My interest is because if the Skins win out they can make the playoffs at 7-9. In order for that to happen, Rams have to lose this monday OR Seattle has to lose both of their last games. The Skins have tiebreakers over most of the teams that can finish 7-9. So if the Vikes win today they clinch the division, and next week's game for them is meaningless since they CAN'T possibly move up on Atlanta or Philly in terms of playoff position. If the Vikes lose today then they go into next week fighting for their lives for a playoff spot. I am still not worried either way, Moss is hurt or just doesn't care it seems, and the Skins have to win this week against Dallas FIRST before I can even get THAT excited. So a couple of things that aren't that improbable have to happen this week, and if they do, I am gonna have anxiety all week leading up to next week's game.

    NFL Week 16

Alright INT returned for TD.......Vikings up 31-24 with about seven and a half minutes to go. Come on Vikes.

    NFL Week 16

I am hoping for a Minnesota win this week because that will wrap up the division for them and since they can't move up any higher in playoff rankings with a win next week, they should rest some starters against the Skins, who can possibly make the playoffs by winning out......more on this later
  8. I'd be more charitable and go to the first six instead of the first three. Seasons four, five, and six were pretty realistic even though one could see the hand of stunt manipulation in five and six. That being said, I'd easily argue season four to be the most "real" real world since you had a bunch of regular people who didn't follow the standard reality show cliches and who acted in a really real manner. Which, as it was elegantly stated by one of the cast members when E! did their E! True Hollywood Story special on the Real World, was why they went towards stunt casting and crazy gimmicks with all future seasons. And seasons five and six have their bright spots that redeemed them. Season five was a classic train wreck with regards to early reality tv that shows how stupid a shitload of people can be and season six had the cast working a normal job (IE with kids in an after school program and not some glamor job) and featured a cast that was a good social experiment regarding casting introverts and wild partiers. Well I consider the first four seasons the PURE seasons, because the show was still in it's infancy and the formula was a lot different, even though the camera crew still did plenty of fancy editing and manipulation back then too. I think season FOUR was the main reason the production crew decided to change things up, because while Season 4(london) still felt "pure" it was extremely boring. Season 5 in Miami was good except it introduced the new stupid gimmick of having a job, and it also sucked that Melissa, who is one hell of a hot cuban, was so determined to keep her real self hidden away from the cameras due to a strict conservative up bringing and fear of her family seeing her being herself. I'd say even Seattle could be considered pure too, I mean the whole Irene situation and how she came out against the Real World and "Reality TV" afterwards was quite a thing to take notice over. I guess it is mainly the last four seasons or so, that have basically had the same gimmick, with just seven different people.

    Saved

What I heard from most people I usually agree with is that while witty and clever at certain times, overall the movie was a dissapointment. To them it was one of the movies that dared itself to be controversial, but then would always chicken out halfway there.

Well, it was on one of those "Classic Album" shows, where Johnathan Davis and Aaron Lewis were interviewed as a couple of musicians who loved the Black Album. Staind and Korn sound more like Metallica then Nirvana, if I had to pick one anyway. Puddle of Mudd and bands of that ilk, well I guess you could say that they sound like Nirvana, but they're so horribly bad by comparison and their music is so different in reality that I always hate when people make the comparison. I have never heard a Nirvana song like Control or Blurry. I guess the point is, none of these bands sound like what I'm being told they sound like. It's just a bunch of labelling done to try and sell them as the next big thing. We all know this, but when people use this information to bring down Nirvana, then it should be pointed out that it's not their fault these bands pretend to be like them, and that should not be used when discussing their music. No one is blaming Nirvana, or detracting from Nirvana because of what came after. It just happens to be that Nu-Metal was the bi-product of what came right before it. Just like how most genres start. As far as Stained sounding like Metallica......WHAT!?! Maybe I have just not heard enough Stained(hah yeah right).

Nu-Metal is like a combo of power rock and grunge. It takes the grunge formula of simple guitar notes played throughout the entire song with no solos or anything that stands out from each other, and mixes it with a power rock sound and you have nu-metal. Puddle of Mud is a perfect example. Korn is another one. And I don't care if these guys NAME DROP Metallica. Their music sounds nothing like metallica. Plus you know they are lying anyway, because who the hell claims to be influenced by a mega band like Metallica, yet be influenced by one of their weaker CDs(artisically, not commercially of course). I think they are all just trying to get on the metal bandwagon and name dropping Metallica is one way to make idiots notice.
  12. A lot of the criticisms of this movie can also be applied to the movie "Boys Don't Cry" I mean watching Cloe Sevigny getting naked and rammed by Hillary Swank is a whole lot sexier then if we all had to sit through the sight of people that looked similar to the real folks, doing it.
  13. The movie was ok, but damn there was a lot of scenes of Rachel Miner just sitting there naked for no reason other then another gratuitous nudity scene. LOL.
  14. Regarding Shaun of the Dead. I heard that this release is pretty bare bones and that there is a region two version that is LOADED with extras, so I am gonna try and hold off until Region 1 gets a better release. January is going to be a good month for DVDs for me, I already have Oz season 4, Curb Your Enthusiasm season 3, and Harold & Kumar go to white castle:UNRATED VERSION marked down on the calendar.

Oh I get it, you were JOKING.
  16. Fred Smoot deserved to be higher, he hasn't given up a single passing TD this entire season. Shawn Springs should get comeback player of the year, IMO considering the last couple of years he has been injured, and everyone figured he was done as a #1 corner, but he has played EXCELLENT in Washington. I know I am a Skins fan, which makes me a shill for my team, but come on their defense is ranked #2 in the league and they have ONE starter on defense?

I liked Nirvana for the most part, but for all the praise they got for being this and/or that, in reality all they were was a RADIO FRIENDLY version of other actual cutting edge bands out there. The Melvins come to mind, seven year bitch also. I mean if you look at the grunge era as far as what was played on the radio, it can pretty much be summed up as Nirvana/Pearl Jam/Soundgarden, and for all this bullshit rhetoric about "oh you can be a garabge band and make it" I sure as hell didn't see Nirvana helping any other bands along the way.Grunge also gave birth to perhaps the worst era in hard music ever, which was Nu-Metal. Once grunge made it big, radio stations where afraid to play any new bands where the band members could ya know, actually play their instruments well.
  18. LOL. Wow. If there wasn't a reason to ALREADY HATE Good Charlotte.....
  19. I often wonder if today's Real World audience would even enjoy the first three seasons of the show, when it was ACTUALLY RELEVENT.
  20. Roy Williams shouldn't be in this season. He has been a laughing stock. Of course, he is being asked to play FS rather then his natural SS, but still it is no excuse to vote him in.
  21. HOUSTON - A judge ordered Halliburton Co. to reinstate health insurance for retirees of its former Dresser Inc. unit, ruling the company couldn't modify the health plans to eliminate the benefits. Halliburton said Wednesday it disagrees with the decision by District Court Judge Lynn Hughes in the Southern District of Texas and is considering all options, including appeal. The oil and gas services company said it will take a charge of up to $13 million in the fourth quarter for current and future retiree medical costs. More than a year ago, Halliburton sought to change its medical plans for all retired employees to achieve parity. In July, the company sued three retired executives who complained about the company's plan to stop providing health insurance for retirees. The lawsuit was filed after the retirees, including former Halliburton vice president of human resources Paul Bryant, sent a letter to company officials to complain about the change. Bryant, 58, retired from the oil services conglomerate in 1999. At the time, Halliburton spokeswoman Zelma Branch said the company sued so the dispute would be resolved quickly, allowing the retirees to arrange for their own medical coverage. The case hinged on whether the 1998 merger agreement between Halliburton and Dresser Industries required Halliburton to keep paying benefits to 4,000 salaried retirees. Bryant and the two other retired executives argued it did. When the company merged with Dresser in 1998, Dresser's employee retirement medical plans were more favorable than those of other Halliburton employees. The judge ruled that the merger between Halliburton and Dresser created a contract to continue the more favorable retirement plans for former Dresser employees.
  22. Well any bay area team can afford to build a stadium, which I would think is a major obstacle from getting them to Sacramento, where the attitude is "commit to the move first, then we will discuss a stadium" hell we are giving the Kings shit over a new stadium and they have been a winning team under the Maloofs for about five years now.
  23. Green Bay at Minnesota 3.5 Oakland at Kansas City 7.5 4.5 Denver at Tennessee 5.5 Atlanta at New Orleans Baltimore at Pittsburgh 5.5 Carolina at Tampa Bay 2.5 Chicago at Detroit 6.5 Houston at Jacksonville 7.5 N.Y. Giants at Cincinnati 6.5 San Diego at Indianapolis 6.5 11.5 Buffalo at San Francisco New England at N.Y. Jets 2.5 Arizona at Seattle 7.5 2.5 Washington at Dallas Cleveland at Miami 7.5 6.5 Philadelphia at St. Louis Colts - 24
  24. Oakland fans for the most part are, how shall I say this....terrible? They barely showed up for all those playoff games. And don't give me this "well that is because they were one and done LOL" bullshit. Sacramento would GUSH over aquiring the A's but honestly I don't think this city is big enough to support a MLB team yet. San Jose seems like the logical move, but that means a longer drive for me so I sure hope the hell not.
  25. Redskins should have more starters on Defense then just Marcus Washington. Antonio Pierce has definately had a better year then Trotter, as Trotter has not even started the entire year.
