Well maybe it made some people feel better about denouncing it in public , but to say that merely 20-30 years ago the large majority of people weren't doing such acts is a bit far fetched.

I am just wondering, would oral sex between heterosexuals be considered an abomination since then penis was "not meant" to enter a mouth?

Well considering it is american corporations reaping the profits of the labor right now, I'd say the US has a big hand in it. Also there will be no minimum wage. The US can puppeteer a corporate utopia in Iraq, much the way the right in this country has tried to do ever since Reagan started a war against organized labor during his tenure. Just the other day Rush went on and on about how FDR is dead, and the left should get over it....ala, more blabber about wanting to put an end to "The New Deal" and the power it took away from globalizing corporate monsters.

Episode III, it looks like one of the prequels will be done right this time. Batman Begins has potential. I really like Bale's work. Go see the Machinist...NOW.

I just am not quite sure why Vince wasted his time with a psuedo-political rant in front of WRESTLING fans.

"former gays" LOL. Well all reason to this discussion just flew out the door.

Bradshaw actually comes off pretty well in his letter, not like some rightwing hack, walking global corporation disguised as a human being persona he sometimes displays. I just find it highly annoying for people to complain about the "negatives of the war getting the air time" well isn't war an ugly negative thing, regardless of the outcome? A lot of innoncent civilians in Iraq have died in the process, and if this plan for "democracy in Iraq" comes to fruition, I hope they along with all the fallen american and international soldiers are the ones recognized as the heros, not stupid oppurtunistic politicians.

Homosexuality seems to be singled out by evangelicals as "THE sin" Now, they will never admit it, because it would show obvious bigotry, but it is pretty obvious by the way of their words and actions. With other "sins" there is almost a live and let live attitude and a "we don't like it, but we have to live with it, and it can't hurt us in our own daily lives as long as we keep praying and believing" yet with homosexuality issues there is an entirely different attitude and stategy to keep it away. Most of it stems from ignorance, but I think it also has to do with the fact that Anal Sex between two males is more visually disgusting to a heterosexual male, then cursing, or drugs, or premarital sex(between a boy and a girl) or eating shellfish, etc.....

Is WWF building to Batista/HHH at Wrestlemania?
NoCalMike replied to UZI Suicide's topic in The WWE Folder
The thing appeal about Batista right now is that he is being built as such a big monster that the fans probably think he is the only person with a chance to beat Triple H. The problem with this of course is that if Batista jobs any time in a big match, even once, before facing Triple H, that effect will wear off and he will go back to being nothing but a roided out hoss with medicore wrestling skills. Even if he goes undefeated until a hypothetical match with Triple H, if he jobs in that first match against him, he will be done. -
The thing is, the ACLU fights for the constitution and bill of rights, not for secular and non-secular causes. People confuse that often, and the ACLU has been on both sides. They even teamed with Fauwell in the past on some lawsuits where they won, but of course Fauwell will never ever mention that because it would hurt the legs on his soapbox.

By reading the article and the quotes by club members, you'd get the feeling they almost purposely made this club just to say they had SOMETHING they could exclude gays from. Pricks.

If Sting vs. Brock is considered a Dream match, I sure as hell hope I wake up before my dream gets to that part of the card.

These are exactly the type of angles that make it embarrasing to watch prowrestling in front of other people. "I am an Arab American, and my civil liberties are being taken away" "Booooooo, USA USA USA, go home you arab" blah blah. I am not saying that there wasn't some type of effort before Hassan's debut to make something more out of this angle then the typical "I hate america cheap heat" gimmick, but it is apparent that a character like Hassan's as a HEEL, will never escape the trap.

kind of off topic, but did everyone know that the "democracy" we are creating in Iraq has some weird provisions, like the banning of labor unions I mean it sounds more like what they are instilling there is a corporations wet dream.
-
Also, we can also look at a case where the ACLU fought for children's rights to hand out candy canes with christian messages on them before school outside the entrance. As long as it wasn't during school hours, yes the ACLU went to court to fight for the children's rights to do this, and they won the case. Fauwell tried to run some ads about this where he was leaving out information and blantantly lying to suggest the ACLU was doing the exact opposite which is untrue. Fauwell was trying to make it seem that because the ACLU didn't fight for their right to let them do this on school grounds during school hours, that somehow the ACLU was trying to shut out christianity in schools.......
-
The thing we have to remember though is, the ACLU is about the rule of law, not popular or unpopular opinion. I am agnostic and I don't really care how anyone else celebrates their own holidays. I have never been once forced to participate, as well that is the way it should be, but to everyone's credit, that is the way it has always been in all of my schools. No one sued or carried on over and of this bullshit. Now I will say that it is not just OMG PC LIBERALS that do this kind of shit. Some lady in this city put up enough huff about Halloween being celebrated in her kid's school that they were forced to ban any halloween movie with a witch or a kid dressed up as a witch character as well as send out a strict costume code memo about what "satanic" costumes wouldn't be allowed. All this because ONE, yes ONE lady complained about "satanism and witchcraft ruling the day on October 31st"

Not to mention Hebner basically fucking up the timing with the sleeperhold and having to rush the 2nd and 3rd arm rasings in order to make it in time. Nick Patrick 2004~!
-
It is just that I find it highly ironic that HBK always seems to be involved in the "oops I accidently just caused Triple H to win the match.....AGAIN" storyline. It is just old. It is almost like they are secretly laughing at people who actually think Triple H might lose the title.
-
I know WWE is wishy-washy when it comes to what exactly calls for a DQ, but Flair basically holding down the ref, wrestling him down, tying him up in the ropes...and the ref just figures, "oh I will wrestle my way away, and then continue to call the match" WTF.....it is shit like this that leaves the crowd dead silent and booing not at the heel, but the shit booking of the match at the conclusion of main events.
-
I almost don't even want to watch the elimination chamber match now. Basically they ruined this match and once again made it all about the potential screwjob finish........ugh.

Blaming drinking on Frat houses is not entirely fair though. I mean the Frats definately are to blame for their ridiculous initiations and hazing rituals that cause kids to get alcohol poisoning, but to act like Frat boys are the only young men that get drunk off their ass and stumble around trying to get home is ignorant. I don't think I would ever set foot inside a frat house, however I have been known to get shitfaced olenty. I like beer, but sometimes I will drink to GET DRUNK. I tend to agree with the idea of regulating Frats and Sororities in order to keep them in check, because as soon as you try and ban shit, it will just go off campus where the danger level increases by a lot.
