That was actually in Beyond the Mat, along with the Undertaker's music on a piano.

Yeah, I think it was in February '99. It wasn't radio per se, but rather the video feed cut out (I think it was a live broadcast) and Cole and whoever came back on a minute or two later with the Heat graphic on the screen and started saying it was a radio broadcast. I might not have it exactly right. Bizarre, though.

Yep, OK is the lowest in the country. Two stations in my area have stopped pumping gas in the last two months because they couldn't make any money. To me, the actual dollar amount is not the problem, it's the fact that the price seems likely to keep going up exponentially forever, seemingly without rhyme or reason. I know the price of everything goes up eventually, but there are so many holes and contradictions in all the excuses that are put out in the media to try to justify it that I can't even keep them straight.

I believe so. I'm not sure exactly what he said but they mentioned in WWF Magazine (!) after that he had been "badmouthing Hulk Hogan on TV." And, Royal Rumble '94 was also on the radio, as they switched commentators for the IRS/Razor Ramon match with McMahon/DiBiase moving to radio.

I wholeheartedly disagree, unless you're talking about the HD aspects, which I don't see since I don't have HD. But basically the main problem I have is that they have used the same production elements for the past 11 years. The straight aisle/TitanTron, ramp, pyro, backstage interview area, announcers, ring ropes, floormats. Its looks like I'm nitpicking, but think about it: other than the current setup, can you name a ten year period where the TV shows looked nearly identical? Think about how drastically different it was in '88 as opposed to '98. Hell, from '90 to '95 the production changed unbelievably. I know they've "tweaked" things, in '02, most recently when they switched to HD, but they've clung so long to the same style of producing the show and presenting every Raw as an epic event. They put the pedal to the floor in '97 and never looked back. Now it seems they're too afraid and/or oblivious to the problem to make any significant changes to what they put on TV. And again, I'm sorry if that is not what you meant, but all the same, I think some would agree with me.

As much as I don't give a shit about WWE, this does excite me.

Bogus Pomp! Professional Mods~! And my favorite, the Jazz Fucking Police! Are these ALL mod groups? I can't keep it straight. Also, Public Account 1-3?! Forgive me, I'm cursed with an eye for detail (I have OCD). I think.

Actually I'd also like to see a breakdown of those as well, now that you mentioned it. Additionally, why was the old system abandoned? (Heat, Raw, SD, Roumble Winner, etc)? I was stuck on Raw for maybe 2 years. Is there still a system of ranks? And if anyone knows, could we get them listed? Thanks.

ECW tapings to take place before Raw; Heat canceled

Toast is Mac only. I use a program called ConvertXtoDVD. It is simple as hell, you just drag files (can be ANY video file type whatsoever) in and it automatically encodes and burns them. The menu it makes is very simple, just a list of the tracks (which you can name whatever you want) and you can insert a pic for the background if you want. It costs $40 but it is totally worth it just because of how easy and simple it is. There is a demo that puts a watermark on the video every minute or so saying "to remove this message blah blah blah..." Probably similar ones out there but I like it a lot.

For a while now, I've been buying/fixing/selling iPods, mostly just for a hobby, I don't make too much. Anyway, I mostly do the 1st generation Nanos. I fixed a couple of things on a 1 GB and went to sync test it. I only had about 30 songs in my iTunes library, so I just hit "sync whole library" without thinking a thing of it. Come to find out that the 30 or so songs totaled 1.04 GB. Now, Apple touts this model as being able to hold around 240. A lot of the songs are 4-5 minutes long, but they shouldn't take up THAT much room, right? I can see maybe only being able to fit 200 instead of 240, but 30? That's way off. Never had this problem before. Is it possible that these songs are in some super high-quality format? I wouldn't think so, because again this is the first time this has happened.

The Mole apparantly is returning June 2 on ABC. Any fans still out there? I loved the two "regular" seasons but didn't care for the celebrity ones. A really cool concept for a show which I think got lost in all the other horseshit reality shows at that time.

I remember that, and I remember the next spring, when I started driving, it was 1.32. This out-of-controlness started in the spring of '05. I remember routinely filling up with PREMIUM for 1.55-1.65 in the fall of '03. That was a bottom of the barrel station, but still.

"Gorilla Monsoon along with Randy Savage, and joining us tonight, from the Baltimore Colts, Art O'DONNELL." "How much does this fella weigh?"..."Can't quite hear ya, Art!" "Who do you think is gonna win this thing, Art?"...."Razor Ramon, of course I'm an old Hulk Hogan man myself." (days after he first appeared in WCW. whoops).

I've been selling on ebay for several years, but I never accepted PayPal until last month. I verified my bank account and have accepted about 8 payments since the beginning of March. It shows my balance on the website, but today when I got my bank statement for March, no deposits were listed for any of the transactions and my balance did not reflect these supposed transfers. To my knowledge, the money is supposed to go into your account. That's why you add a bank account, right? Did I not do something right? I posted it here because PayPal customer service seems to be run by the mentally handicapped. I'll ask them if need be, but anyone with any PayPal experience that can help, please let me know.
-
Yeah, I hear ya. It's weird because the only thing on my previous statement about PayPal was "PAYPAL INSTANT XFER- 7.99" which I don't remember being the amount of any of the transactions. I hope it isn't some kind of monthly service fee. We'll see what happens... Thanks. Edit: on a completely unrelated note, does anyone know what's up with the "Real TSMer" label and why the system was changed? I was hoping to work my way past "Raw" which due to my infrequent posting habits, I had been on for probably two years. That sucks. Oh well.

I did not know that. Thank you.

I thought the title of the thread said "Forgetting Sasha Mitchell" (Cody from Step By Step).

Whats the first pay per view you saw live?

First one I ordered was Summerslam '95, which was when my cable company was first able to provide PPV service. The first and only PPV I attended was Survivor Series '93. -
Let's Talk About... The 1993 Survivor Series
JJMc replied to LivingLegendGaryColeman's topic in General Wrestling
It was. My dad waited in line for tickets and got the last 4 together in the building. They were WAY up in the second balcony, and anyone that remembers the Garden knows that the acoustics aren't the greatest. You couldn't hear anything on the mic, including Razor's intro of Savage or the Ray Combs thing, which DRAGGED for what seemed like forever. During the SMW match, you could hear a pin drop, from those seats at least. -
Do you have that full episode of Spotlight? I want to see the Mr. Perfect vs. Butch match out of morbid curiosity.
-
Whatever you do, keep this one around because I hated the black one.
-
The 'class is in' part sounds right. I'll have to go back and watch it once more. Thanks a lot.

Can anyone tell me what Adam Bomb says when walking to the ring at Survivor Series '93? It's right after he is introduced by Howard Finkel as he looks into the camera. I've tried for years to decipher it with no luck. I just watched it again yesterday and it got me thinking. Weird, you betcha.
