  1. Good point about the WAMMA title. I don't think Affliction is dumb enough to try and say anybody but Andy Silva is numero uno at 185.
  2. I desperately want that guy to tell the soldiers to "Respek his authoritah"
  3. "Fresh Mex comin out the back of me"
  4. Well, it's Manitoba. That's all I got.
  5. That sounds about right as a co-main event, especially considering I'd heard they wanted to do Sylvia/Barnett at this show but Big Tim was also given a 180 day suspension due to his soul being taken.
  6. Yeah, just read that. He also said that if he were an ex-champion when he'd pulled his drunken antics he would've got away with it. Either way I expect to see him fighting for another promotion as soon as his no-compete clause is up.
  7. What did JT Money say about Rampage?
  8. Looks like Fedor/Arlovski is in question right now. Fedor injured his right hand while destroying Big Timmy and is medically suspended for 180 days so that likely means he won't be able to train in time for the fight. Affliction will be holding a press conference in Vegas on Aug 6th to discuss the October show. In what cannot be any kind of a coincidence Tito Ortiz's no-compete clause in his UFC deal expires August 3rd so it's expected that we'll see Affliction announce Babalu vs Tito for the show in the fall, possibly now as the new main event with Fedor/Andrei being shaky.
  9. Niagara Falls? We have two, and two Denny's. However don't take away Chili's. It's the cheapest bar at the Calgary Airport if I have to wait my flight to Fort. McMurray. Nope, Mississauga. Can't remember where it is for the life of me. Speaking of, how'd your move go?
  10. Wait. Was that an attempt at humor?
  11. I was chatting over Facebook with my brother about this and he seemed hyped on it. Then I got this message... "So, it has will.i.am in it.....I am considerably less enthused."
  12. You just did a great job of making yourself look silly. - He whopped Sherk back to front. Don't fall back on that "not his natural weight class" bullshit when you know full well that the wrestling pedigree Sherk has would give any top WW today problems. Not only did GSP beat him but he beat him at his own game. - First off it was ONE groin kick. Hughes himself admitted that the second kick hit him in the upper thigh and more or less paralyzed the leg at that point so the kick was not only totally legal but the fight itself should've continued. - Glass jaw? This is the same fighter that took hard shots from BJ Penn for three rounds, got poked in the eye and had a broken nose and didn't drop? Yeah, glass jaw. - Since when is outwrestling and outgrappling Josh Koscheck en route to a UD something to be criticized about? Has the two opponents Koscheck has faced since been able to present him with any problems? No? Didn't think so. - I'm not going to defend the lack of training and motivation GSP had going into the first Serra fight so why do you act like it's a determining factor in the second? Serra got outclassed, plain and simple. Remember how people said that Serra only beats GSP nine times out of ten? He had his one chance and made the most of it. - "Beat Hughes again when he didn't really train and was starting to go downhill" = Destroyed Hughes even worse then the first time and it was a hard pill to swallow for Serra fans (which you clearly are) because they realized the end was near. I'm sure you're a knowledgable guy but you just looked retarded there. You know why people cream themselves over GSP? Maybe it's because he has one of the best resume's out there. There is no fighter in MMA history that had the run he had before beating Hughes the first time. No fighter in the game went through the top five in his weight class (Trigg, Sherk, Penn, Hughes) en route to a mashing like he dished out to Hughes in their second fight.
  13. We don't get many Applebee's up here but the one I went to was heinously mediocre. Haven't been back, wouldn't want to.
  14. The one thing that I can say right now that's going to suck is that it's a 99.9% lock that this movie is going to be PG-13. I want a goddamn adult comic book movie coming out for fucks sake.
  15. If anybody is going to play Penguin it's going to be Paul Giamatti. Bet that.
  16. dubq- From what I know Gambit doesn't play any kind of a role in Wolverine's story when he was first starting out. From what I can gather from the trailer this is about Wolverine and Sabretooth being recruited into the Weapon X program which is where we'll encounter Deadpool, Silver Fox and the others. Blob is for sure a villain in this, likely the same for Barnell and maybe even Gambit too. Also, from what I've read Tyler Mane really wanted in for this movie but they went with Schreiber who, it has to be said looks pretty damn good in the trailer at least in terms of voice and appearance.
  17. So my usual nervousness about GSP losing is kicking in. This time I'm concerned about Fitch bullying him around and beating him up. GSP might be better then Fitch at pretty much everything but I think Fitch can take more punishment so I'm wondering how that will affect GSP mentally if the fight goes to the third or fourth rounds and he's tossed everything he could at Fitch but he keeps coming. I'm also wondering if Fitch will be the one to take GSP down and how Rush will react if it happens as I think that he has been on his back for less then 3 minutes combined in his UFC career. There's also the fact that if he shits the bed in this fight he'll be forever tagged with the label of "Good enough to beat a champ, not good enough to be a champ."
  18. IIRC Deadpool had a very dark and sarcastic sense of humor so I imagine Reynolds will have no trouble with the role.
  19. I imagine, like most comic book movies nowadays that we'll be getting a trilogy out of this because there's already talk of a sequel being set in Japan which I imagine would venture into Lady Deathstrike/Silver Samurai territory.
  20. It sucks that we won't see Cox doing Stryker but Danny Houston is a talented actor in his own right so I don't think he'll do a bad job by any means.
  21. Okay so the trailer was released recently at Comic-Con and can be seen in shitty quality on YouTube but I don't care. Watching that had me jumping up and down like a kid. Final cast looks awesome and I love the diversity of mutants in this. I have no doubts in my mind that this will likely end up being better then X3 and maybe X2 and the first one. Watching the trailer you can hear the audience freak out when they see Gambit and I had a very similar reaction. Cast Hugh Jackman as Wolverine Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool Will.i.am as Kestrel Danny Houston as William Stryker Lynn Collins as Silver Fox Tyler Kitsch as Gambit Kevin Durand as The Blob Dominic Monaghan as Barnell Daniel Henney as Maverick Scott Adkins as Weapon XI Rumors are going around that we'll see mutants like Professor X and Cyclops make cameos. I can only hope that soon enough we'll be getting the Nightcrawler spinoff they've been talking about since X2.
  22. Homer said it best when he called alcohol the cause of AND solution to all of life's problems.
  23. UFC Fight Night 14 headliner James Irvin, who suffered a first-round TKO to Anderson Silva in the July 19 fight, tested positive for methadone and oxymorphone, according to a urinalysis conducted by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer today confirmed the test results in an email sent to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). Irvin has 20 days to request a formal hearing. If the ruling is upheld, he would then face a likely suspension of six to 12 months and a fine of up to $20,000 -- his full fight purse for the event. Methadone is a synthetic opioid usually used in treatment of opioid dependence for drugs such as heroin, though it can also be prescribed as a painkiller. Oxymorphone is a semi-synthetic opioid analgesic (painkiller) often used for the relief of moderate to severe pain. The NSAC has approved neither prescription drug for usage by MMA competitors. Silva and 10 other UFC Fight Night 14 fighters voluntarily submitted to a urinalysis during the event. All but Irvin tested clean. UFC Fight Night 14, a late event booking that countered Affliction's debut pay-per-view event, took place at The Palms Las Vegas and aired on Spike TV. Irvin headlined a UFC event for the first time, and his fight with Silva peaked with a remarkable 4.5 million viewers.
  24. You forgot a comma in the thread title.
  25. Until SI cites a source I'll call complete bullshit on that one.
