Fuck did Cain look awesome there. Just brutal power and control. The fact that it was against JOB sweetens the murdering all the more.
Me want Rory Markham vs Marcus Davis.
That's pretty much it. And honestly, if you're UFC and you want to encourage Tyson to finish fights putting him up against guys like Aurelio and now possibly Sherk is not the way to do it.
YES! That had me and my friends just losing it.
Man, between the UFN and Affliction show last night might have been the Night of the Knockout. Markham, Silva, Belfort, Barnett and Arlovski all impressed.
The Fedor/Arlovski/Barnett/Belfort finishes were fucking GRIMY. Hominick's fight was solid, good for him. I enjoyed the hell out of this because whenever Megadeath was on I'd just switch to UFC.
I don't know if Randy will be back for a while. If anything I imagine they'll either do Fedor/Arlovski or Fedor/Barnett, assuming we get those outcomes tonight.
So Affliction cracked the glass on the case surrounding their backup fighter in case Aleks didn't get cleared and we now get Gary Goodridge vs Buentello on the undercard. Different opponent but I still expect the same type of fight.
Hopefully my dream (heh) scenario of Aoki making it to the finals and neither Alvarez or 'Jiri can continue on due to injury to Hansen (who has beaten Kultar Gil earlier in the evening) steps up and avenges being the first ever gogoplata victim in MMA and makes Shinya cry......again.
Even without Diego/Alves that's still a very solid card.
So, I've been thinking about the possibility that Anderson comes out unscathed against Irvin and fight Okami in September and I've come to the conclusion that it ain't happening. I just can't see Silva doing a title defense just under a month after the Irvin fight. If anything it might be a good idea to make Silva/Okami the headliner for the 89 card as UFC's primary concern was that a fight between two foreigners for a title wouldn't draw so giving it away on free tv could be an option. Hell, if they were willing to give away Hendo/Page on Spike there's no reason Silva vs Okami wouldn't work.
I had a nightmare last night that everybody had come over to my place for the PPV and I couldn't find it on the television guide. I actually woke up thinking I'd missed the whole fucking thing.
I'm pretty sure David Simon is happy with this result. I can see them viewing any nods Wire would've snagged as being pitied upon. Oh, and go Michael Emerson!
Fedor needs to play this smart. His strategy will all depend on what Sylvia does. If it's evident that Sylvia plays on jab-pawing his way through the fight Fedor will be a bit more open with the stand-up. If Tim comes out with intensity and power I'd expect Fedor to immediately shoot for a clinch.
