  1. I think Forrest got it due to the takedowns and ground control. IIRC the cleaner shots were being thrown by Forrest too. The one issue that argues it in favor of Bonnar is damage and coming close to finishing the fight.
  2. I haven't watched it in a while but I remember at the time watching it live I thought Bonnar had won it but I was rooting for him so there's a bit of bias there. Upon re-watches I think Forrest takes it though it's close.
  3. That's fairly vanilla as far as take-tittied white girls go.
  4. Reading Hawk's comments made me remember just how badly Ninja got screwed against Dan.
  5. Looking at that undercard honestly makes me laugh. When Rory Markham is the biggest name there you know you rushed a show together.
  6. Sure. When I go back the dude who showed me in promised me a free Anderson Silva shirt so I'm stoked on that.
  7. I personally hope this show bombs terribly in the ratings to teach UFC a lesson about trying to fuck-over competition by any means they can take. I don't think it's going to bomb in ratings but I don't see it doing all that well either. And if James fucking Irvin beats Anderson I'll shit a chicken.
  8. Cue BruiserBrody asking for a hint on what that is.....
  9. Just finished an interview at The Fight Network for a position with their writing staff. Met Mauro, cool dude. Sorry Rudo, I didn't punch him because if I got the job it would likely create an awkward work environment. Keep your fingers crossed for me, fellow MMA Folder-ites.
  10. Indeed, likely better then what the EliteXC show will turn out to be.
  11. Fuck yeah to Ben getting nominated for TSOTTC. Probably one of my favorite Lost episodes ever and his performance in it was top-shelf.
  12. So to counter EliteXC's second show on CBS on July 26th UFC is planning on running UFC 84 for free on Spike.
  13. Good call, forgot about that one.
  14. PRIDE scoring uses similar criteria that UFC does like damage and control but the #1 thing they rank is effort to finish the fight, something I have always agreed with.
  15. The difference between Arlovski/Sylvia matching up quickly after was that it was a necessity due to the complete lack of depth in the HW division at the time. Griffin/Jackson was a controversial fight, yes but I'd rather see both guys fight again before a rematch. They could do Forrest vs winner of Chuck/Rashad in December and sometime around then or after do Rampage/Wanderlei for #1 contender.
  16. Close the thread. max wins it hands down.
  17. From the NSAC's website regarding a 10-8 round.... M. Domination Criteria 1. A Judge may determine that a fighter dominated his opponent in a round. This can lead to a two point or more difference on a Judge's scorecard. 2. The definition of a dominating round is a fighter's ability to effectively strike, grapple and control his opponent. 3. A Judge may determine a round was dominating if a fighter was adversely affected by one of the following: -knocked down from standing position by clean strike -by submission attempt -from a throw -from clean strikes either standing or grounded. Reviewing that I can't see how Forrest gets a 10-8 round. The leg kicks and choke attempt along with the control make it an easy 10-9 but Rampage was never in eminent danger of being submitted or TKO'd and Forrest's ground and pound was too weak as well as being sporadic. Goddamn that is a tough round to call.
  18. Herring likely needed plastic surgery after the hurtin' Fedor put on him and even then that was stopped due to cuts so I'm not sure (besides stoppage due to said cut) what Brock can thrown down on him he hasn't absorbed before.
  19. Battle lines are drawn, Mik. You know where my loyalties lie
  20. Exactly. I felt the need to give you an ego stroke. Enjoy.
  21. Goddamn did you take that bait. Hook, line and sinker.
  22. So this fight has really set off the debate of "What constitutes a 10-8 round?" and the 2nd is difficult to judge because of two things.... 1) Forrest controlled the round too much to get a 10-9 2) Rampage didn't take enough damage to warrant the type of damage you'd expect to see in a 10-8 round For me, what could've been the deciding factor in the two judges eyes to make it a 10-8 was the fact that Rampage did absolutely shitnothing to get out of mount.
  23. Wasn't Herring coming off of something like ACL or knee surgery before the JOB fight which is why he couldn't sprawl for shit? Not to say Brock won't take him down but yeah, like Rudo said there's nothing Brock has shown yet to justify saying he can beat Herring.
  24. Deke is already calling MVP out on his retardedness so he's off to a good start.
  25. If you can give somebody a 10-8 off buckling on a leg kick there's no way you could avoid giving Rampage a 10-8 for the first due to the uppercut. Judging is a 2-way street.
