Offing the pilot during....well, the pilot makes sense because it could eliminate potential contact with the outside world. Curious to see if we'll get an explanation for why Eko was merked.
-
I hope Fallon gets throat cancer and needs to have his voicebox removed before he can take over.
-
The selling point they (aka Rogan) will use during the fight is "Will Thiago hold back on the leg kicks in fear of the takedown?". He used them sparingly against Karo for the same reason and there's no question that if Karo can take him down Hughes will have no issue. A Thiago KO is of course a possibility but I see this being like a less action-packed version of Fitch/Alves with Hughes riding out a decision.
-
Frank flew Keamy and Co. to the island so him popping up next week makes sense. I'm wondering if it's Sayid or Desmond that offed the doctor but I get the feeling it'll be neither of those two.
-
I think if Alves loses he'll get the winner of Koscheck/Lytle to keep him in the mix. I was thinking for a minute that it's lame to have a non-title fight for a PPV main but then I remembered that this show was never supposed to have one in the first place. I dig the hell out of that main card, should go a long way in establishing upper-level guys @ 170, 185 and HW.
-
This card has too many names on it to be a UFN and they'll play up that it's Hughes's first time back in the UK since the second fight with Carlos Newton. Won't be the draw Chuck would but still too big to put on free tv. This isn't a bad main event but it's not exactly beneficial for the WW rankings. If Hughes beats this AND gets past Serra he still can't fight for the title with GSP on top unless Fitch finds a way to beat GSP. It'd be a good notch on the belt of Thiago and would certainly make him a top five WW to take out Karo and Hughes within a half-year but the risk for him is huge too.

Matt just broke the news on his website that this will be the main event of the show and regardless of the outcome he'll get Serra next. Matt Hughes vs Thiago Alves Brandon Vera vs Fabricio Werdum Marcus Davis vs Mike Swick Chris Leben vs Michael Bisping Nate Marquardt vs Thales Leites Rashad Evans vs James Irvin Martin Kampmann vs Jorge Rivera Jason Lambert vs Luis Cane Matt Wiman vs Thiago Tavares Antoni Hardonk vs Neil Wain Roan Carneiro vs Ryo Chonan

Al Sharpton being there was the least surprising thing about the case. -
Somebody @ another board brought up a very cool theory: What if Ben can't kill Widmore because he's his constant?
-
Yeah, I'd go with The Constant, this one and the intro episode to the freighter folk as tops so far. Anybody notice how pissed Lostzilla seemed? No sneaking through the jungle, hiding behind trees. Just straight kickin' ass. It seemed like Lost got a bit more budget for their FX as it looked better then it has in previous seasons. I'm wondering if Widmore is a descendant of the Black Rock crew and Ben took over the island after the purge. Ben called it "your rock".
-
Yeah, I wonder if they'll even both with an explanation about how he avoided Lostzilla. I wonder if the hotel Ben checked into in Tunisia is a DHARMA stronghold. IIRC the polar bear skeleton Charlotte located was in the Tunisian desert and the reaction the clerk had when Ben told her his name and she looked it up was fishy.

Maybe I'm the only one but the reveal of Ryan's coke problem made me feel a bit depressed. Yes, they made it humerous but it still felt awkward. Michaels line about The Wire had me rolling and yes, Toby's exit will rank up there with one of the greatest moments in a long time.

Keamy is Hardass of The Moment on the island. I honestly think with his demeanor and training that Sayid would be the only one to offer him a challenge.

UFC 83 - Serra vs. St. Pierre 2

So I've noticed that Tong has avoided this thread. Clearly the shame of Hironaka getting KO'd by Chinathon Goulet is overbearing. -

Fully aware it's a business but it's a laughable fight and a gigantic "BULLSHIT" to Dana's claim of wanting his champions to fight the best. -
Uhhh....lengthen the spoiler tab Matt, it's pretty damn obvious who it'll be.

I know you're not forgetting it but just for the record Vera pushed Mir's shit in badly and I'd bet he does it again if they were to rematch. -

So, this is something that may or may not mean anything but it's worth noting that UFC has taken Frank Mir vs Justin McCully down from the UFC 75 match listings, prompting many to believe that Mir vs Noguiera for the title will be the new main event. If so, sucks to be Werdum and sucks even more to be Vera. -
That thing Ripper does with steak? Yeah, I'm gonna do that thing.

69 isn't great but it does have Huerta/Garcia on it which was awesome. 70 had the headkick of death from Gonzaga as well as a solid undercard, 71 isn't that great but Karo/Burkman is fun and seeing Chuck get dropped never gets old. 72 most will tell you isn't great but I bought it solely on the strength of Guida/Griffin. 73 is killer. I bought 80 yesterday and it's probably the best UFC since 74. Only two decision and both were good-very good and the rest is all finishes with some gully knockouts on the main card. -
Yeah, it's more or less a gimme that it's Keamy and Omar who capped Karl and Danielle.

Explains why I didn't catch it when looking Horn's record up @ Sherdog. He's probably fought 80 + fights since 04. -

Lister and Horn haven't fought before. Do you mean Nate vs Lister? -
TWO-NITE Previews looked awesome and if you know who the flash___ is devoted to you'll agree that this could be a great episode.
