  1. Solidify him as the #1 Welterweight in the world?
  2. This is pretty much The Big One for GSP. If he wins, regardless of how he does it people will more or less cop to him being the future of MMA. If he blows it then it won't matter how many top-level fighters he faces and beats after that because the "mentally weak" stigma will plague him forever.
  3. Ya know, it's not like I had enough reasons to want GSP but to win but goddamn if I'm going to walk into work next Monday and have random co-workers ask what happened. I've pretty much sold people in my office on the show who've never watched MMA before so if Georges fucks up I'm gonna hear about it for a long time.
  4. GREEK? Oh man. No homo indeed.
  5. Somebody find the Andre the Giant photo and put "Warning: Has Police Conditions" underneath.
  6. Red, get his cell # and then promptly pass it along to telemarketing companies.
  7. Less then a week (AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)
  8. Nice. Checking out the Fight Club shit, are we going to make it into town in time for the weigh-ins? They start @ 1.
  9. Is it a good or bad thing that I remember that post?
  10. Danzig on the Bocek fight..... “To be honest I don’t like this fight style wise. He is kind of boring, not because he wants to be but he is good at slowing the pace down of a fight. My job is to make it exciting for the fans and not to let it turn boring.” Mac spits truth. Bocek's fight against Evans was terribly boring. If Bocek brings the suck I will change my cheers mid-fight for Danzig. Rudo- For the love of God tell me that you didn't book us on a 8 AM train back to Toronto on Sunday. I just realized how horribly hungover we're gonna be regardless of the main event and I honestly don't know if I can get up in time for that.
  11. Oh, those details. Yeah, saw 'em.
  12. This could just be me but I see no details.
  13. One week (AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)
  14. I guess light beer and spirits aren't an option instead of outright quitting?
  15. Evans, Edgar, Serra, McCrory, Maynard are all guys I'd assume would be on that card. Great sig btw star. I look forward to the world tour of your daughter.
  16. Rampage should know a thing or two about upkicks. He got KO'd by one from Arona and it was only Arona's stupidity that prevented him from finishing the fight.
  17. Rudo and I could probably make a road trip down for that one too. I'm down for Marcus vs Tyson. Griffin has good enough hands to hurt Marcus standing but once it goes to the mat things will be interesting.
  18. Upkicks apply to the four-point rule. If a guy is simply standing above you the kick is legal, if a knee or either or his hands are touching the ground at the time the kick is thrown it's illegal.
  19. In regards to your first point, this is all true but the problem is that Stout didn't go to the ground in any of those fights, regardless of what credentials his opponents might have had they weren't utilized. What IS proven is that Holanda, with his shitty-as-hell ankle picks were able to get Stout down and put him in some bad spots. It's a plus for Sam that he was able to escape but even if Clementi chose to make it a wrestling match he'd easily grind out a decision. As I've said before, hopefully I'm wrong but I don't see Sam doing enough to win.
  20. Provided Koscheck gets past Lytle I'd enjoy seeing those two going at it for the next in line after Fitch. Since the Fitch bout Alves hasn't faced anybody with good wrestling so until I see his takedown defense I'd still go with Fitch even with the way he looked against Wilson.
  21. Uhhhh....since the Holanda fight he's fought Grandmont, Fisher and Eklund, all of which were stand-up fights so there's no basis to your "his sub defense is getting better" claim. I think you're letting your hatred of Rich get in the way of logic here. He absorbsed some bombs from Melvin who doesn't have the technical striking of Stout but hits a hell of lot harder. I'd love to be proven wrong here and see Stout be the first to KO Rich but I doubt that'll happen.
  22. Pretty much. I keep flashing back to the Fabio Holanda fight in TKO where Stout was getting taken down pretty much at will and Clementi is a bigger, stronger fighter with better wrestling then Fabio so I imagine he'll have no issues getting Sam down. Stout's only hope is to sprawl and brawl en route to a UD.
  23. I can see Serra/GSP taking on Fitch in August, September at the latest. The problem is that there's nobody around for Alves to take on. Lytle, Koscheck and Davis are all tied up with fights and like Mik said I don't know if Alves will want to stay inactive from now until December.
