  1. Agreed. Season 2 wasn't what I'd call bad television, but it's noticeably worse than Season 1, and part of that had to do with setting up characters then doing nothing with them. Charlie going crazy (and nearly getting exiled), and Sawyer conning Locke to get all the guns, were two moments that made me go "Holy shit, I can't wait to see where they go with this," and it turned out they never really went anywhere at all. Next we see Sawyer, he's hunting a tree frog, and Charlie's stopped being crazy and started helping Eko build a church. It was enjoyable TV, but not Emmy-worthy-TV. Hear that sound? It's the plotlines with Charlie, Sawyer and everybody else flying over your head. 1) This has already been established before but Sawyer hunting the tree frog paralells his hunting of the boar in season one, difference being that he let the boar go and kills the frog. His conning Locke with the guns furthered the Henry storyline because if Sawyer didn't hold all the guns then AL wouldn't have been forced to seduce him for his pistol, leading to Michael capping her, leading to Henry's escape. 2) Charlie going crazy and his subsequent semi-exile from everybody else made complete sense as it furthered the point that Charlie is a good person who makes bad choices. The Eko thing got across the point that Charlie is consistently abandoned by those he puts his trust and faith in (his brother, Locke and now Eko). The tailie subplot took an unfortunate turn because of Michelle Rodriguez's drunk driving and Cynthia Watros moving on to a new show. You certainly cannot blame the writers or producers for something beyond their control and in the grand scheme of things they did a very salvageable job in wrapping things up. I'm sure if we go back to season one we'll find iggy bitching about things there too, IIRC.
  2. It's sweet that we're still in your hearts, despite that being the first and only time we collaberated on a thread. Devote your time to more constructive issues like pregnancy and child-rearing, hmmm? And Rudo got privately PM'd by more then one MOD from the WWE Folder asking him to tune it down. It was actually hilarious because one of them all-but said "Yeah, you're right but we need to let the retards have their fun." Plus, pro-wrestling is at an all-time low and MMA is growing faster then WP's pants looking at pics of Leena.

  5. Are you referring to "The Break-Up" as the other bomb? I assume so. I think this means that at least one of them (most likely Owen) will need to take a drastically different role then what they normally do. "Owen Wilson as Owen Wilson" isn't going to fly much longer.
  6. I'd show a ton of Nogueira fights before showing people any Fedor stuff. It puts his first victory in greater perspective.
  7. Donkey is actually a first-rate strength and conditioning coach.
  8. I'd just like to point out that not all GSP fans have their heads in the clouds like EHME. GSP hung in well against Hughes in the first round and if it weren't for the armbar finish he probably would've won the round but Hughes is still Hughes and this is not going to be an easy victory. I can only see GSP winning this one by decison, honestly.
  9. If it's anybody other then Adrien Brody or Paul Bettany then it's a complete and utter failure. That is all.
  10. If UFC wants people to start recognizing Lambert as a title contender maybe they should do more then relegate him to untelevised fights on UFN's and PPV undercards.
  11. Thank God I already own Barely Legal on VHS or else I might have to shell out the money for this piece-of-shit show for the M-Pro tag match.
  12. I don't but I will pass along the forewarning that it is an extremely boring match.
  13. Gono/Mousasi Henderson/Misaki Kang/Suloev Chonan/Filho There be your next round bracketing. Poor, poor Chonan. Might as well bring a pillow because you'll be on your back the whole fight.
  14. Yes. And barely any of it is passable, much less good.
  15. Now is the best time to become an MMA fan. Even if Benoit returned I doubt he'd be enough to sway my love at this point. The MMA Folder is poppin' off, btw. New cats are joining every day and despite what you might hear we're all really cool guys (except for Lei Tong).
  16. PRIDE is doing quite well at releasing DVD's, actually. They've been putting them out steadily at a rate of one every 3 weeks or so for a while now. UFC DVD's are at a stand-still because their distribution company went under and they don't have anybody who can ship them out at the moment.
  17. Hendo has the dubious distinction of tapping out in the same fashion to a set of twins.
  18. First round of the GP is solid, if unspectacular. Overeem/Belfort, Henderson/Nogeuira, Randleman/Nakamura and Silva/Yoshida are all good fights but the DVD is worth picking up for Shogun/Rampage, easily one of the best murderings in MMA in the last few years. Second round has Arona/Sakuraba which is sickening at times to watch. Sak's face looks worse then Shamrock after the Tito beatdown at UFC 40. Silva/Nakamura is ok, ditto for Overeem/Voychanchen (sp?). The standout fight on it is Antonio Rogerio Nogeuira vs Shogun which is a great battle back and forth. The rest of the disc isn't really anything special though you do get to see Cro-Cop throw a disgusting liver kick.
  19. You always were the pacifist out of the two of us, Bacon.
  20. I was happy in my bubble until people started to fuck with my countrymen and women. Selfish? Sure but it's helped me sleep at night. Ever since I was young I've known that the Middle East was a rough area, full of violence and the like. The thing is, I've never seen progress. Not once. Nothing but bad coming out of the region to the point where by the time I was 9 or 10 I was completely desensitized to the concept of violence. Didn't affect me then and didn't until this point. Now, I could give a fuck about what they do to their own people. When the Middle East shows me something other then a complete disregard for human lives and beliefs then maybe I'll start caring. But still probably not.
  21. After watching the news today and seeing that 8 innocent Canadians died today in more bombings I've become convinced that the world would flow a lot smoother if the entire Middle East is just wiped off this planet.
  22. "More absorbant then the leading pad, stopping periods that flow faster then a locomotive........"
  23. Owen Wilson, you have officially been taken down a peg in Hollywood. The Waynes Bros. will never let anybody hear the end of this. "Man, if it weren't for Johnny Depp and his eyeliner we woulda had that spot!"
  24. The more I think about it the more I think UFC is doing this to take Bonnar down a peg in the division or release him entirely. Having said that I don't think he'll be released until somebody finishes him or beats him in a spectacular fashion.
