  1. Jay-z is the only rapper that I know that can walk the fine line between street rap and pop rap. Black Album was good and maybe rap album of the year last year, I wouldn't say its a classic thou.

  3. Thats because none of his teammates would have his back if he did, he woulda got lynched if he did that.
  4. ^ Yeah your right, because Pac did have some standout tracks in all the reject albums after his death. If they would take those standout tracks and put it on a couple albums then I would be fine with that. But his mom don't know what she's doing so she just let someone else handle that stuff, but his mom was bogus when she came out with that Makaveli clothing line.
  5. Ron Artest's Father Speaks out: By Eric Adelson ESPN Magazine NEW YORK -- Ron Artest Sr. was in church when it happened. After services Friday night, he rushed home to his apartment to catch the highlights of his son's game. "I was shocked," he says. "I've never seen anything like that before." Ron Artest Sr. says his son felt as though it was "12 guys against 20,000 guys" in Detroit. Artest Sr. has seen his oldest son lose his temper before. It's a problem he has tried for 20 years to help fix. But suddenly, there on the TV screen, his son was in the stands in Detroit, throwing punches at fans. Sunday morning, Ron Artest called his dad. "Ron's OK," says Artest Sr., who raised his son in the Queensbridge projects with Ron's mother, Sarah. "He's sorry for what happened. It was a reaction. He wishes he could reverse it. He tried to compose himself, and it didn't work out. "He felt he was being attacked. Like it was 12 guys against 20,000 guys in the arena." Ron Sr. is a Navy vet and a former Golden Gloves boxer out of Philadelphia. He taught his son to box in the hope that sports might keep him out of trouble. Ron Sr. has always feared that his son's temper would be his downfall. He hoped boxing could help him avoid the drugs and violence around every corner in Queensbridge. Ron Sr. sent his son to anger management therapy when he was 8 after Ron put his hands around another boy's throat in a school cafeteria. The counselor suggested basketball as an outlet for Ron's emotions. "Maybe it's because of the neighborhood," Ron Sr. says. "Some people have [a temper], and some people don't. He's never hurt anybody, never killed anybody. It's just part of him. He doesn't have a criminal or thug bone in his body." Artest has struggled with his temper all his life. Events such as his parents' divorce in 1992 and the death of his baby sister Quanisha from SIDS in 1995 only made it worse. Ron even saw his dad hit his mother once. He offered to lie to the cops, but Ron Sr. told him never to lie. So Artest took his emotions out on the basketball court, molding himself into one of the most physical players ever to come out of New York. He became a hero in Queens, willing St. John's to the Elite Eight as a sophomore. He turned pro at 19, but gave most of his money to friends and family until he was nearly broke. "He feels bad for the kids," Ron Sr. says. "He's worried how the kids will look at him now. The kids love him out there." Ron Sr. says he has not spoken with his son since NBA commissioner David Stern handed down Artest's yearlong suspension. But he believes the penalty is too harsh. "I know he wants to apologize," Ron Sr. says. "He wants to apologize to innocent spectators. I would like to apologize, too, for Ron to those spectators and to the Detroit Pistons." Wow, he's such a thug. *Rolls Eyes*
  6. I like Artest since he played for the Bulls, the Bulls knew about his mood swings thou thats why he got traded. Artest is a nice guy and I hope the media doesn't make him a bad person for rest of his career.
  7. Yeah, Pac's mother Afeni owns half of Pac's catalog which most of it is unreleased material thats being remastered, and Suge Knight owns the other half which most of that material has been released already, so any Pac album that Suge makes it'll consist of same songs that people already heard of, like that horrible Nu Pac Mixx Klassics bullshit that came out about 6 months ago. This new Pac album is probably the last "unreleased" material he has left. The only Pac album really liked after his death is the "Still I Rise" with The Outlaws.
  8. I don't have the double album yet, but i've heard this is close to a 5 mic album. Only song i've heard was the "Bridging the Gap" song with his pops that is blues player. Any thoughts?
  9. ^ This new Pac has only 9 unreleased songs on a 17 song album. These are old Pac songs some rejects and some that made the cut, are being remastered. This one of the reasons why I don't respect Eminem these days, exploiting Pac is disrespectful as it is and then he's executive producer with those garbage beats he makes. I think people who should work on a Pac album is : QDIII, Dj Quik, and Daz.
  10. NBA action is Fantastic. Artest should get 10 games Max, JO should 3 max, and Jackson 15 max.
  11. No, I doubt Parcells would do it since he kisses men. I can understand where Tony is coming from about the whole stereotyping issue.
  12. ^ Yeah on rap message boards, 15 year olds talking about how G-Unit is gangsta now. Eventhough about 20-30 people jump on the guy and Buck shanks him, now he's gangsta. Jimmy Iovine is proably thinking that its gonna to increase G-Unit (minus 50) sales because they're gangsta.
  13. Did you see Suge's interview where he says: "People should move on, and forget about (Feuds) that were in past." I starting laughing because anytime interviewer in the rap magazines mentions anybody in Shady/Aftermath or Snoop, Suge is quick to diss them.
  14. Co-Sign, Eva is on the boney side, but still she can get it.
  15. SANTA MONICA, California — The Santa Monica Police Department issued a warrant for the arrest of G-Unit rapper Young Buck on Tuesday (November 16) in connection with the melee at Monday's Vibe Awards. After reviewing a videotape of the fight, investigators believe Buck (born David Darnell Brown) stabbed 26-year-old Los Angeles native Jimmy James Johnson after Johnson assaulted Dr. Dre during the ceremony at the Santa Monica Municipal Airport hangar (see "Dr. Dre Attacked, Man Stabbed During Melee At Vibe Awards"). Buck, who will be charged with assault with a deadly weapon, was one of three men seen on the videotape with knives. The other two have not been identified. "Mr. Brown is seen lunging over another male and swinging the knife at Mr. Johnson's upper body while Johnson is looking away from him," Santa Monica Police Department spokesperson J.T. Butts Jr. said at a press conference Tuesday (November 16). "He is clearly depicted holding the knife after the assault and was a number of fight participants sprayed by pepper spray. Brown then fled the scene and was not identified until earlier this morning. ... We are asking Mr. Brown to surrender himself to the Santa Monica Police Department immediately." The encounter began around 7:25 p.m., when Johnson approached Dr. Dre for an autograph and began punching him several times. "As private security persons attempted to control Mr. Johnson, several males attempted to assault him," Butts said. "Two uniformed officers attempted to intervene and they themselves became victims when unidentified men threw chairs at them." James was stabbed in the chest and suffered a collapsed lung. He was rushed to a local hospital and is in stable condition, Butts said. James, who is on parole, has not yet been interviewed, nor has Dr. Dre. "We have a call in to him, he has not responded, but we will interview him at his earliest convenience," Butts said. "This investigation is continuing and we are in the process of identifying several other assault suspects. We have a lot of people to interview." Butts said he has no idea what sparked the assault and made no connection between Johnson and Suge Knight, a longtime Dre rival who attended the awards. Initially only two officers intervened, but Butts said 56 officers were on the scene within minutes, including more than 30 who were patrolling the Vibe Awards. l detectors were used at the doors, Butts said. Young Buck has several arrests in Nashville on his record for minor offenses, Butts said. A spokesperson for the G-Unit had no comment. — Corey Moss Yo, well its good to see G-Unit come to Dre's aid but, this is perfect example of "When keepin it real goes wrong" http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/14...?headlines=tr

    ODB is dead

Hopefully, the Wu Tang will come together and make a 5 mic album. Hopefully, Jay-z and Dame Dash won't bullshit and release ODB's new material.

    Eminem - Encore

I haven't been a fan Em of late, im very cautious about buying this new album. Em's production is average at best thats why the Eminem Show was probably the worst album in his catalog IMO. Em needs to turnover the beat making duties to Dre or Kon Artis of D12. With Em being executive producer on the next 2Pac album really got me concerned thou.
  18. Suge HAD to be behind this, because he has a track record of starting shit at award shows, From the Source awards ten years ago, to the BET awards, and now this shit. I know Quincy Jones knows better than to invite Suge, whats the purpose of Suge being there but to start shit, he doesn't have any new material from artists of his to promote anything. Another black eye for Hip Hop and the black community because this type shit prepuates stereotypes that are going on in the mainstream media towards blacks. Grown rich men acting like that is silly.

    ODB is dead

My favorite ODB moment besides riding in a limo to pick up food stamps, was when he got up on the stage at the Grammy's and said: :"Wu Tang is for the children." Man, the Wu might go on without him but it won't be same thou. Here's a pick of ODB in a Body bag. http://www.newsday.com/entertainment/ny-et...nment-headlines

    ODB is dead

Ol' Dirty Bastard Dead By Nolan Strong Date: 11/12/2004 6:30 pm Wu-Tang Clan member Ol’ Dirty Bastard passed away today (November 13). While details are sketchy, sources told AllHipHop.com that the rapper collapsed and died in a Manhattan recording studio. Ol' Dirty had complained of chest pains, but the cause of death was not immediatley known. The nine members of the veteran rap group appeared at The Theater at the Continental Airlines Arena for their first joint East Coast appearance in five years, in which Ol' Dirty took part. One of the founding members of the Wu-Tang Clan, the 35-year-old helped lay down the foundation for some of the most influential Hip-Hop in history. He brought an air of humor to the macho world of rap, yet maintained enough integrity to be taken serious amongst a fickle Hip-Hop audience. The Brooklyn born rapper was featured on Wu-Tang’s groundbreaking album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Shortly afterwards, he was shot in the stomach by another rapper during an argument on the street in Brooklyn. He recovered and released the classic Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version, which spawned the hit singles "Brooklyn Zoo" and "Shimmy Shimmy Ya," which powered the album to gold status. In 1998 the rapper further solidified his place in Hip-Hop history. That year, he rushed out of a recording studio to help save the life of a four-year-old girl who had been hit by a car and was trapped underneath. The next day he appeared at the Grammy Awards and rushed the stage during Shawn Colvin’s acceptance speech for her Grammy Award winning song “Sunny.” Dressed in a red suit, the rapper told the crowd that Wu-Tang shouldn’t have lost their Grammy to Sean “P. Diddy” Combs and then uttered the now famous words: “Wu-Tang is for the children.” In 1998 he was shot again in Brownsville, Brooklyn, after two robbers pushed their way into his girlfriend's apartment. The bandits stole money and jewelry and shot ODB once. The bullet entered his back and went through his body, all superficial wounds. After being treated in a New York emergency room, he ignored doctor’s warnings and left the hospital. He was arrested several more times the following year for various charges, including threatening bouncers at the House of Blues in Los Angeles and for lounging on his balcony in the nude in Berlin, Germany. No charges were filed in that case. Later that year, he was arrested and charged with attempted murder, after police claimed he jumped out of his car and started shooting at them. Those charges were dismissed when the police failed to present credible evidence. In October of 2000, the rapper was almost finished a stint in rehab when he made a run for it, spending a month as a fugitive, during which time he performed at the Hammerstein Ballroom in front of hundreds of stunned fans. He left the premise that evening but was captured a short time later in Philadelphia, singing autographs in a McDonald's parking lot. He was extradited to New York, where he stood trial. In April of 2001, he received a sentence of two to four years in state prison. After emerging triumphantly from jail and rehab, the rapper inked a deal with Roc-A-Fella Records in May of 2003. I'm happy to be here,” Ol' Dirty said at the press conference. “I thought I wasn't gonna be able to touch another microphone. I'm happy my eyes are still open." Not surprise though after those reports about him being in a comatose type state while doing shows, a couple months ago. RIP ODB
  21. Stupid media get the information right. But anyway the group Artest is trying to promote R&B Allure fucking ruinied that "All cried out" remake with 112 a couple of years back.
  22. Maurice's Gardening tips is funny as fuck: "You sound like a spenster with two pussies." Anyway, I finally beat the Esse's on the train with Big Smoke and beat both Russian missions, now Im on OG Loc's "House Party" mission. I see why them cats are called the "Balla Gang" because anytime I kill one of them they always got a lot of money on them. Chea!
  23. Not everybody on the team has scholarship thou, you have to put that into consideration as well.
  24. @ Artest, I mean damn you got the whole summer to do other ventures, but yet he chooses the NBA season to do all this shit. I can understand if he didn't say he wanted time off and still wanted promote his album. Shit, he could hire a street team to promote his album during the season.
  25. This is why you can't a black girl is that your not confident. Black women love a strong confident man.
