Colon Blow...the breakfast of champions!
-
I went in 2002 to a house show shortly after Brock Lesnar debuted. It was the show the night before Backlash in fact and Matt Hardy was set to wrestle Brock Lesnar. In the section below where my friends and I were these goth girls/Hardy marks were cussing out everyone that even dared to say a bad thing about their lusts of that particular time, lol. They were screaming stuff to everyone and it started to really annoy us. Brock comes down to the ring and we start a chant of "KILL BROCK KILL! KILL BROCK KILL!" The girls look around to see who it is...we get a few more people to join in the chant. One girl yells at us...in between chants my friend Mark yells, "FUCK YOU CUNTS!" By now we've got our half of the arena chanting it and the little spoiled brats are about bawling. And Brock beats Matt...this is back when they'd stop the match after Brock nails the F-5. We started screaming, "ONE MORE TIME! ONE MORE TIME!" The girls start crying and leave their seats and don't show back up until near the end of the show.

Right in the mouth!

The NWO mocking Arn Anderson's retirement. Double A is one of my all-time faves and the way they mocked it was just plain not funny.

Not to mention in some parts of the country...like here in Iowa...we actually take the kids out the night before...Beggar's Night was Sunday. As for me, I was probably flipping between Monday Night Football and Cheap Seats re-runs.

As I've watched wrestling for a long time it seems to me that Vince McMahon's mis-steps have a purpose and aren't mis-steps. In other words, he is deliberate in just about everything he does or says. Example...the Invasion of WCW/ECW. Some say it was poorly mishandled and botched...I say it was deliberately booked to make WCW/ECW look inferior as there was no way Vince was going to put them over. Even though guys like Booker T and Rob Van Dam are clearly over in the eyes of the fans Vince never had any intention of giving them World title runs. Also, judging from the results of Taboo Tuesday that I read...if we are heading towards the end of the brand split, that Smackdown will beat out RAW for the simple fact Bischoff is the head of RAW and the man who nearly put him out of business. No way Eric is booked to win this thing. Which brings me to a thought that has run around in my head since Spike let WWE go and brought TNA aboard. The first shows of Impact have been good...with the exception of Bound For Glory which got booked on the fly at the last minute as Kevin Nash pulled up "ill". I have to wonder if Vince somehow got to Nash and talked him into getting sick. Knowing Nash has pulled these stunts in the past I wouldn't put it beyond Vince to sign Nash to a "Legends" deal and thus become suddenly unavailable on the ME of TNA's biggest show. As a result, the people that ordered BFG expecting a great show come up disappointed and their opinion of TNA is diminished. Finally...the rumblings have grown louder from within the IWC, the wrestling pundits that roam the news sites, and from Spike TV itself. They are wanting to see TNA at some point very soon to go head to head with the WWE on Monday nights. You also have Jerry Jarrett...the founder of TNA...sitting down to talk with Vince which tells him things may not be all butterflies and cupcakes right now. TNA is slowly gaining its footing wrestling-wise and financially. It's not quite ready yet to compete with the WWE. Vince has noticed I'm sure...so what if he's tanking these shows and not putting out the best product to goad Spike to put TNA on Monday nights opposite his flagship show? Knowing Vince's ego...it's possible. Right now there's no real competition between TNA and WWE, so Vince is coasting right now. Spike sees this and puts TNA on Monday nights. For a few weeks TNA wins over fans with the exception of the WWE diehards. Then...BAM! Vince turns his booking up a notch and crushes TNA before they get too strong. Some say that it might be far-fetched...but Vince McMahon has wanted to be the ONLY game in town. I wouldn't put it past him to do this to keep that spot.
-
Vince should care about what the IWC does think...not all the time but sometimes. We're watching...we're paying attention, we actually care enough about the product to comment on it. He either can't or won't realize that since he's so convinced that whatever we say is so negative. The people that he's chasing...the casual fan...aren't paying attention to RAW to talk about it the next morning around the water cooler.

When Hogan tries to chase Undertaker on the motorcycle and the bike wouldn't start so Hogan's walking the bike up the ramp...classic Wrestlecrap moment.

Vince McMahon has made his bed...the bed of going out of his way for 20 years to crush any and all competition. I was old enough to remember in 1984 when Vince bought Georgia Championship Wrestling and put his WWF programming on WTBS. Vince would buy up all the top talent throughout the feds...Rick Rude, Ultimate Warrior and Kerry Von Erich from World Class...Hacksaw Duggan, Ted DiBiase, and Junkyard Dog from Mid-South/UWF...and so on and so forth. It was never about competition...Vince wanted no competition. And now he has it...sort of the decline of the Roman Empire now taking place.

Another match I just thought of I watched on one of my tapes the other night...Luger vs. Hansen at Starrcade '90 when Luger won the bullrope match to regain the US title. I thought that was one of Luger's better efforts (even though there weren't many in his career)
-
As a long-time NWA/WCW fan...there are so many matches that I'd want to see on that if Vince ever put that out. After all, Starrcade was the first PPV that was ever put out. I'll throw out a few that are must-sees on the show. Roddy Piper vs. Greg Valentine...Dog Collar Match from Starrcade '83 Ohtani vs. Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit vs. Jushin Liger-Starrcade '95 in the WCW-New Japan Challenge Magnum T.A. vs. Tully Blanchard..."I Quit" cage match Starrcade '85 Sting vs. Vader..."King of Cable" final from Starrcade '92 Road Warriors vs. Midnight Express...Starrcade '86 "Night of Skywalkers" Scaffold Match

Trump has a huge ego...but the question is how fragile the big-wigs' egos are? Can they take constructive criticism or do they lash out at people who dare to disagree with them and surround themselves with yes-people who will just agree to anything that is said? Vince has a giant ego but is clearly fragile. Look at the way Pat Patterson left...Patterson (all Aunty Pat jokes aside) was at Vince's side going back to the Hulkamania days. Vince would owe a bit of his success to the booking he did. But Patterson dared to tell Vince that too much Triple H on TV is a bad thing. And if he takes offense to someone telling him this that has been with him for 20 years...no one is safe.

Again, you're ignoring the fact that they're dicking him around about hiring his best friend back. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not overlooking that fact...but also can't overlook the fact this isn't the first time he's taken his ball and went home because they won't play ball the way he wants. I tend to take him a little less seriously like that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cmon man - its not that they wont play ball the way "he wants," its the principle that they bait him back into storylines to play into the Ross storyline (which logically should lead to Ross returning and naturally, Austin beating Coach), and then go and then job him out instead, when there is no question they should not be doing so considering the Ross situation and in that this is his first match in years and you dont drop the ball like that, no fuckin way. Plus ITS COACH he would be doing the job for. It's the simple principle, and additionally, Vince should know better from all of the dealings with Austin in the past that you can't expect him to put up with this - its like kicking someone in the nuts and not expecting them to at least squint. The fact that he has left before (and when he left, it was understandable terms for the most part) should be reason enough for a situation like this to not happen again. Vince should know better. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And Austin at first did agree to do this angle...if he felt funny about it he should have spoken up in the first place. Not to mention he bails on the whole thing less than 24 hours before the show, leaving the fans, wrestlers, and everyone in a lurch. And if this was the first time he walked out than I can see giving him the benefit. He's done this several times before...how many times would most of us get the chance to walk out on our work if things weren't going right? Chances are once only. Yes, the angle is outrageous and someone clearly has no clue what they're doing...but I under no circumstances can I justify Austin walking out...AGAIN. This is the little Steveweiser-swilling shepherd that cried WOLF too many times.

Find out if it was city or county cooler. Most of them have websites...here they have the listing online available of all current inmates or recent ones complete with mugshots.

I know I might get into trouble for this, but
BruiserKC replied to JN News's topic in No Holds Barred
I remember writing for a friends' e-fed once years ago. He had this girl that he asked to join...he wanted to make it with her but she sucked as an RPer. He would get pissed at me when I had her character losing all the time and I told him if she role-played better she'd win. He removed me from my position and then I joined as Shane Douglas...won the World title and then had Kane set fire to it in a very touching ceremony. Politics in an e-fed...whoda thunk? -
I understand the angle is flat out ridiculous and the idea of one of the biggest draws in wrestling history jobbing to a 5th-rate announcer is just not a good idea. This I can accept. I can also accept that just because the McMahons find it entertaining doesn't mean I'm not going to change the channel to Iron Chef re-runs. But Austin walking out again (keep in mind this isn't the first time or even the 2nd time Austin has done this) is just unacceptable. Austin's not doing this to make a statement towards bad booking or senseless storylines. He's doing this because he's upset at having to job and his own ego can't stand for it. I'm fed up with having my intelligence insulted in this capacity. If Stone Cold wants to go...there's the door, you know where it is, hurry it up as I hate long good-byes. As for Vince...when is the man going to realize it wasn't funny the first time to see Kane pulling stuff out of Triple H's BUTT...why would he think it funny again? He'd be better off asking Coach and Bischoff to pull his finger. That'd be way more entertaining.

Question for those who know about labour laws
BruiserKC replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in General Chat
Is he hourly or salaried? If he is salaried, then they can work pretty much whatever they want or what the company wants them to do and overtime laws don't apply to them. -
The Lions have zero faith in Harrington now...short of Garcia being carried off the field on a stretcher they weren't putting Joey back in. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Even so, you need every decision in overtime to be a good one, as one bad decision means the end of the game. As bad as Harrington's been, he's more likely to make the right decision at that point than Garcia was. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Harrington's years of poor judgments and stagnant, un-improving performance is the deal also. With what they built around Detroit with Rogers, Williams, and Kevin Jones...there was NO excuse for being as stale as they are right now. Orton doesn't have that type of firepower around him...although Muhammad, Benson, and Thomas Jones are nothing to sneeze at. But you see the improvement every week with him and Orton can be the Bears QB of the future. Harrington's pretty much done in Detroit unless Garcia just completely breaks down...even then it's not a guarantee he'll see anymore snaps in D-town.

TMNT Missile Command Galaga...used to spend entire lunch hours playing it at my HS's student center...plus the study hall I had next hour after lunch as the teacher who ran it never took attendance. Revolution X NFL Blitz Cyberball...don't know if anyone remembers this game...football with robots. WrestleFest...I dominated tag team wrestling with Mr. Perfect and DiBiase X-Men

Bears win in OT, 19-13. Orton's looking better with every passing week and the defense is solid. Grossman doesn't have to come back anytime soon.

A match I thought was also good but no one mentions much...Steamboat vs. Tully Blanchard for the World TV title at Starrcade '84.

"Texas Chainsaw Massacre"-the original one of course "Animal House" "Glengarry Glen Ross" "48 Hours" "The Last Samurai"

Special K...that was extremely disturbing...excuse me for a moment. OK...now let's bust out with a bit of divine intervention here...best way I can describe it. Last Saturday I go out with some friends of mine...gotta forget that Iowa got punked by Michigan (DAMN YOU KIRK FERENTZ FOR NOT GOING FOR THE TOUCHDOWN IN REGULATION! DAMN YOU TO HELL!) We get to our regular hang-out...see a couple of my female friends out together dancing and getting men to do almost anything they wanted them to do. I say hi to them...get a hug from each of them and then we pretty much go off to our corner and they are out in the middle of the dance floor. Couple of guys are giving them quite a bit of attention...and all four of them are out grinding on the dance floor. Few drinks later I start over that way to see what's going on...apparently the guys want to take my friends home for some hot-tubbing. They head to the bathroom and I go in there about a minute later...call it my Spidey-sense but something didn't seem right. The guys are holding each other's hair back and are basically puking their guts out...clearly too much to drink and they can barely stand. I do my biz, and out the door I go over to my dancing friends. I wave to the pool tables where the rest of our peeps are...they come over and I tell the ladies, "After what I saw with your boytoys in the bathroom...I'll be DAMNED if you go with them. I'll take ya home if you need a ride." Maria and Victoria (not worried about protecting their identity) look at me as if I'm out of my mind. I tell them that I just saw them upchucking their evening of booze and there is no way I can let them drive them home when they can barely remove themselves from the toilet. Maria gets it...Victoria is still bitching and wants to go with them. Our Puke Daddies come out of the bathroom by now and are apparently ready to go and think we're muscling in on their turf. I tell one of them, "Listen, Sparky...I have no problem if they want to go with you...but you two are too fucking drunk to drive. I'll be happy to follow you guys and they can ride with us...we'll drop them off where they need to go but I'm not letting my friends ride with you when you could set off a Breathalyzer 50 feet away!" The other long-haired freak of the two clearly looks like he wants to fight...but with about five of us ready to take his head off (minus my two amigas) he thinks otherwise. They end up storming out the door, pushing a guy on the way out the door. We stay another half hour or so and then off we go for home. On the way home, we drive by an accident...a SUV basically wrapped around a telephone pole. We stop for a second...lo and behold it's our alcoholic swingers. One of them is unconscious, the other has his face caked in blood. The back seat is completely smashed in...where my friends no doubt would have sat. Maria starts crying, and Victoria only says to me, "Damn...I've known you a long time I really need to trust your judgment."
