  1. They're doing something right to be in power right now. And most of the media seemed to overlook the fact Hamas is dedicated to wiping Israel off the face of the earth and are being duped into thinking they'll be less militant.
  2. Dan Brown- "The Da Vinci Code" Almost done with it and then I will start with "Big Russ And Me: Father and Son-Lessons Of Life" by Tim Russert.
  3. I sure as hell hope they're not even remotely considering putting the belt on Mark Henry. That would be a huge fucking joke. Henry's just another hoss that Vince seems to blow his load for. I have never been a Hogan fan...but I could get behind Hogan-Foley for WM...especially if they have Foley as Cactus Jack or the heel Mankind. And I'm talking the heel Mankind when he first arrived, not the corporate Mankind with Mr. Socko (although I'm a huge Socko mark). HBK vs. Vince...feh. No interest, don't care.
  4. Carnival wins a copy of TSM...the home game. Seriously...I have to wonder how many of us watch the show just to try to guess which one of Barker's Beauties (or more than one) that he's banging after the show?
  5. In the words of the Rock..."IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT AMERICA DOES!" All we've heard for years is that it's America's fault for this, America's fault for that...blah blah blah yakety smakety. It's not America's fault there are Islamo-fascists right now preparing to wipe Israel off the map. This is like Hitler and Germany all over again. They blamed everyone for their problems and made Europe believe that if they just gave them what they wanted they'll leave us alone. Look at what happened. Hamas is the same way...only a little bit slicker than the Nazi party. Took power legally, so now they'll eventually believe they'll have a mandate to continue the jihad against Israel. I think Israel is going to stand pat, the people will no longer support land for peace and I wouldn't be surprised if Netanyahu eventually comes back to power if Sharon is unable to continue.
  6. The Alliance/WWE match from Survivor Series 2001 has no business being in this list. I watched it and was not impressed. Plus, it was not a question of failing...it was deliberately booked for the Alliance to fail. If there was anyone who thought Vince was going to let the WWE lose that match and go out of business, they were sniffing paint and smoking crack at the same time.
  7. I had mentioned this in a discussion one day with my manager at work. He said he e-mailed EA Sports about a lack of NCAA football and basketball for the PC. He said they responded by telling him there wasn't a market for it and they make more money off the NBA and Madden games.
  8. ...and bitch they will. And bitch they should. Damn, if I have a daughter that ever came home and said this to me...the teacher would be collecting his checks from a hospital. I would expect nothing less than what this guy from any father in this situation. You'd be letting him off too easy compared to what I would do...I have a 14-month-old daughter and if I heard someone molested her, that person would be fitted for a toe tag.
  9. You know the bad annoucers is always been a case with EA. I haven't heard a EA game without annyoing annoucers in quite some time. Something about Buck Martinez's voice on the EA games rubs me the wrong way. He grinds like nails on a chalkboard. What sucks is that they don't have the college games for the PC. They haven't had them in years.
  10. U2's was a good start...but wouldn't have been a home run back then. These days, the initial efforts have to be out of the park. Whether it's Nelly, Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, etc...if it's not good enough to play on several hundred radio stations and get widespread mainstream praise forget it.
  11. So far the list is impressive...people would be mad about Hogan being higher on the list anyway. All I can say is Magnum/Tully "I Quit" from Starrcade '85 and at least 2 of the 3 Flair-Steamboat matches from early '89 (Chi-Town Rumble, Clash of Champions VI, Wrestlewar '89) need to be on the list and pretty high.
  12. The music industry doesn't build careers or let bands develop. They automatically expect a band or individual to just put hit music out right away or they won't stay around. Bands like U2, REM, etc...got a chance to hone their skills over a few years and a few albums. Those bands wouldn't be around today for long if they don't grab an immediate following. Plus, why the hell would we want to buy CDs anymore when there's only one or two decent songs per CD. The last CD I bought was for my wife and that was three years ago, I can't justify spending $20 for a CD with one or two good songs on it and 8 shitty ones. Piracy is the scapegoat here, maybe if the music industry changed their approach their sales might go back up.
  13. What is a new way really nowadays is you don't see coaches wearing both the hats of the coach and the GM. Coaches have delegated authority for a while, more so with hands-on owners who think they're football people. That's why you see what's going on in Washington and Dallas...Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder love their teams, want to see them win, but they're not football people and need to quit acting like they are.
  14. I wonder if this means I might actually be able to watch Smackdown before I go out on Friday nights...here in Des Moines we have WB but not UPN, used to get SD on the WB affiliate on Saturday nights until a couple of years ago when they decided to throw on MASH reruns. It's been on our NBC channel at Sunday nights at 11:30, and I sure as hell don't stay up to watch it.
  15. I'm trying to think of a place I ate at when I went through Pittsburgh a couple of years back. You could get sandwiches and fries...but they would put the fries into your sandwich instead of on the side.
  16. When making chicken Marsala I do use the actual Marsala wine as opposed to the cooking version. I do use sometimes wine also when I marinate steaks. A cabarnet sauvignon works wonders...I got best results when I used a Kunde or Dry Creek Vineyard version. And both are usually available for $15-20 a bottle.
  17. How come you're all holding Burkina Faso and Nauru down? They deserve some love, damn it.
  18. You're obviously affected or you wouldn't be scolding us like the dog that just wet your floor. You have the right to your opinion...but we have the right to ours.
  19. It's painfully obvious what the hell Vince is trying to do, and it's not working. Vince is trying to recapture the days of Attitude when people would tune in to RAW to see what he would try to do to foil Austin. Austin's character worked as the man who would defy authority. It worked perfectly back then as it was new to mainstream. Granted there was ECW but ECW was on the fringe. Right now it's not working as Attitude has been done. He's trying too hard to revive it...how else would you have Edge doing a "live sex" show to get over as champ. HBK as the Austin foil doesn't work...the HBK of 2005 lacks the charisma of the 1996 one. It doesn't work anymore, it takes TV time away from the rest of the roster.
  20. I go to Yahoo Chat quite a bit...a lot of us there are as hard on the product as this board is. Seriously, Vince should be glad most of us complain. It should tell him we care about wrestling enough that we want to see a better show. I know for me it's an issue of consistency. One week the show's off the hook, the next week it sucks out loud. But I've been watching wrestling since 1979...I am a wrestling fan and want the product to be better. So for all the WWE marks that whine about people complaining...if we stop complaining that's the day Vince needs to be worried because then we stop caring.
  21. I've never been to an Ebay funeral...who would be the pallbearers in an e-funeral? Internet bad-asses...they're as big a losers as those who want red hot cybersex.
  22. Jericho vs. Goldberg in WCW...would have definitely put Jericho on the map had ol' Whisker Biscuit actually wanted to do it. Shane Douglas vs. Ric Flair...I know they had a match in WCW but considering the real-life hostility between these two and their work on the mic a full-blown feud would have been gold. Steiners vs. Hardliners (Dick Slater and Dick Murdoch)...the storyline had gone that Slater and Murdoch attacked the Steiners and injured Rick...by the time Rick returned to in-ring action Slater and Murdoch had left WCW...this was in '91 IIRC. Billy Gunn vs. Bart Gunn...they made it seem that when the brothers split you would never have known it. Triple H vs. Hulk Hogan...The heat "The Game" would have received when he's telling Hogan it's time to hang up the boots and retire.
  23. I got 28 out of 33.
  24. No, that would be bad. Very bad. If we find him, we need to imprison him and make sure he doesn't die for a very long time. It's better to leave him alive and in a place he'll never escape than kill him and prove his craziness about us. I don't want my tax dollars going to keep this fucker alive. If I had anything to say about it...when we captured him I'd put him in a room with no windows. One pistol with one bullet, tell him to blow his own brains out and this way he can say he took himself out by his own hand.
  25. GOOD Walter Payton setting the all-time rushing mark. As a lifelong Bears fan you can't convince me that anyone else other than Sweetness was the greatest RB ever. Tate-to-Holloway in the Capital One Bowl last year as Iowa beat LSU in the "Miracle on New Year's Day". ESPN's analysts seem to swing from the nuts of the SEC when it comes to football. Edmonds' HR in game 6 of the 2004 NLCS which sparks the Cardinals to win and then win the following night to advance to the World Series. BAD Cardinals getting rolled in the '04 World Series. The fucking least they could have done was come to play. 1987 Regional Final in the NCAA...Iowa blows an 18-point lead to UNLV to miss going to the Final Four. Hawkeyes haven't been close since.
