All non-profit organizations should not get a dime of taxpayers money. I don't care if it's NPR or the Boy Scouts...don't give them any money. Let them raise it on their own. We can solve the marriage debate very easily as well...the states/counties/cities can stop issuing marriage licenses. The only reason they do is for tax reasons anyway. If it's such an issue about God, let the churches decide who gets married and who doesn't. And no civil unions either. Take the state and the government out of the picture. I'm all for disagreeing political opinions and all that. However, when it comes to the fight against Islamo-fascists, I have a serious problem with politicians who seem to not like the war just because the other side is running the show. If they don't have a legit reason to be against the war, they should be hanged for treason. And finally...I'm not for guest program workers on illegal immigration. If you are in this country illegally, they should round them all up and deport them. If they want to come to this country, they can do it legally. I'm willing to throw more money at the INS, the system is broken. Plus...we need walls up on both the Canadian and the Mexican borders.

Vince has Heyman on the payroll because he knows if he goes to TNA, ROH, or somewhere else he'll make that company that much better. By keeping him under his control until his contract expires, Vince keeps him from moving on. I was myopic at first, but should have known better. Vince would never give ECW a chance to be better than either one of his shows...especially the RAW brand. I know I said this during the invasion when everyone was so excited about WCW and ECW under Vince's control...that Vince would never give them a chance. As for Kelly...IIRC isn't she supposed to be booked as an inexperienced exhibitionist...so she is booked to have no clue as to what she's doing?

Sandman then fulfilled most people's fantasies on this forum then...for the chance to kick the shit out of some of the Creative and Writing Team folks. What the hell was that supposed to be anyway...it almost looked like a white version of PN News at the outset.

A bad day fishing is better than a good day working.

How could you leave Jake "The Milkman" Milliman off the card?

I got this idea the other day messing around with my video library...what kind of cards could we put together with wrestlers from different eras and different organizations. Rather than do the obvious like Hogan vs. Flair, etc...I'm taking wrestling organizations from different eras and pitting them in dream cards. I'll do 1985 NWA/JCP vs. 1996 ECW---I'm not worried about who wins. Sam Houston vs. Mikey Whipwreck "Outlaw" Ron Bass vs. Brian Lee Midnight Express vs. Pitbulls Magnum T.A. vs. 2 Cold Scorpio Rock 'n' Roll Express vs. Sabu/Rob Van Dam "Nature Boy" Buddy Landell vs. Stevie Richards Sandman vs. Nikita Koloff Dusty Rhodes vs. Raven Ole and Arn Anderson vs. the Rottens Tully Blanchard vs. Chris Jericho Ivan Koloff vs. Taz Road Warriors vs. the Dudleys Fabulous Freebirds vs. the Gangstas Barry Windham vs. Terry Funk Ric Flair vs. Shane Douglas

I dip pizza in blue cheese dressing. Also...one of my fave sandwiches is grilled bologna and peanut butter.

I like to take a side of sirloin and put in the crock pot with a homemade BBQ sauce...the only thing better for BBQ is in a pit itself.

We have to have Kevin Smith direct it and have him also play me. Music on the soundtrack must include.. AC/DC Shinedown Kentucky Headhunters Smashing Pumpkins Travis Tritt Megadeth Godwar (it's Rawdog spelled backward)

It shouldn't...but sad to say it does. For example...back in the day in my kayfabe prime I was a fan of Lawler. I'd put some of his matches against Savage, Funk, Austin Idol or Eddie Gilbert against any classic match of any era. These days Lawler basically relegated to a color commentator that fights a handicap match every night with puberty and his libido. And the sad truth is yes...Lawler is known for more than shouting "puppies." But it's that shouting that tarnishes what he did in the past.

I'd pay good money to see Sandman cane the Snapple Lady. Well, with JBL probably just about done...is Vince ready to end the brand extension now? Angle in ECW, Undertaker semi-retired, Mark Henry is now the lead heel on SD, and Batista might be to injury-prone to depend on long term.
-
ECW could revive the Extreme Horsemen...Steve Corino, Justin Credible, Simon Diamond and CW Anderson...managed by "The Franchise" himself. I'd also like to see Chris Sabin and Sonjay Dutt in ECW. With as small as Dutt is, I could see a solid tag team with him and Mikey Whipwreck. Amish Roadkill and Danny Doring

ECW was completely different from WWF and WCW for the way they had many different wrestling styles all at once on their shows. The Nitro era notwithstanding...WWF and WCW basically had one style of wrestling...in ECW the many different styles stood out. Luchadores...Psicosis, Super Crazy Japanese...Masato Tanaka, Hayabusa Scientific Wrestling...Benoit, Malenko, Al Snow Brawling...Sandman, Raven, Tommy Dreamer Shoot Style...Saturn, Kronus And somehow they found a way to make all those styles work.

How did he "fuck it up?" They held the NWA and WCW World Tag Team Titles at the same time. Seemed like they were pretty successful to me. Just thought of another team...I liked Marcus Bagwell and the Patriot as "Stars and Stripes" in WCW, for some reason. I guess I was a huge mark for Patriot in GWF. Dr. Death and Bam Bam were a team you could have built the tag team division around long term. They only held the titles for a couple of months, then lost them to Dustin Rhodes and Barry Windham. They basically had a ritzy cup of coffee in WCW for a few months and then left. Another tag team that was awesome back then but no one gives much love these days...the Eliminators.

I have a few gripes. People who either let their children answer the phone that are under age, say, 8...or have the child on their answering machine. I don't find kids on an answering machine cute and if you can't handle an adult convo don't pick up the phone. Answering machines that say, "I'll return your call at my earliest convenience." Sorry I inconvenience you by calling me back, you stupid numbnuts! I'm sure that few minutes will prevent you from rubbing one out to the latest anime porn. Someone who doesn't have the courtesy of saying "Thank You" when you open the door for them. One time I was in a liquor store, the woman I held the door for didn't say a word when she walked by. Needless to say, we were leaving at the same time and I didn't bother to open the door for her at that point even though her hands were full. Courtesy is just that...a courtesy. It's not required but should be appreciated. Finally...knee-jerk political reactions. OK, I know some people would pay to go down on President Bush, some wish he would go down and stay down. But it seems like we've gotten to the point where if Bush says he ate an omelet for breakfast that the Bush-haters would tell us to eat pancakes. And then the Bush-lovers tell us if we don't eat eggs we're terrorists or some shit.

Good list so far...but it will be for naught if they don't have the Fatal Four Way with Jericho/Pitbull 2/Scorpio/Douglas when "The Franchise" was born that night in the top 5.

I was a fan of the Lightning Express in UWF...Brad Armstrong and Tim Horner. Great to watch in the ring. AWA's Badd Company...Pat T-t-t-t-t-tanaka! Paul D-d-d-d-iamond! Managed by Diamond Dallas Page. The original Los Guerreros...Chavo and Hector. The Dirty White Boys...Len Denton and Tony Anthony. The Rock n Roll RPMs...Mike Davis and Tommy Lane The Fabulous Ones...Stan Lane and Steve "pre-Skinner" Keirn The Varsity Club...Mike Rotundo and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams...they could have done more with them. Ditto when Steve Williams teamed with Terry Gordy...it was gold in Japan and Bill Watts fucked it up in WCW. And of course...the Sheepherders. This was pre-Bushwhackers because they sucked ass when Vince got their mitts on them. I could go on and on...those were the days.

"Dr. Death" Steve Williams...I know he was supposed to be booked as one bad motherfucker, he just didn't seem right in EC Dub.

JBL to ECW would make great sense at this point. Right now, it's obvious ECW has its top face (RVD) and doesn't really have a top heel to match right now. Plus, JBL in ECW would be like when "The Franchise" was the top heel in ECW back in the day. Shane Douglas was different from the "extreme" combatants of EC Dub, but the gimmick he used as the best wrestler in the company made it work.

Another thing I tend to notice...wrestling personalities that go mainstream get shunned by the wrestling fans eventually. When Hogan branched out to TV and movies, he was a sell-out. When the Rock went to the movies, same accusation. Stacy Keibler finishes runner-up to "Dancing With the Stars" and pretty much she's off the wrestling radar.

I've been watching wrestling since the late 70s...basically for more than 3/4s of my life I have been a pro wrestling fan. When most of my friends and people I've known in my life have turned away from it, I still watch RAW on Mondays, Impact on Thursdays, and tape Smackdown to catch it (where I live no UPN affiliate so it has been on Sundays on our NBC channel after the news). There have been times when wrestling was cool to watch and was "in". During the rock-n-wrestling days all the kids had their favorites. During the days of NWO and Attitude we hung out at the water cooler on Tuesdays to talk about the happenings of the previous night. Right now wrestling is in that down cycle and no one talks about it as much. What gets me, is especially how the media treats wrestling. To mainstream America, wrestling is a joke, a sideshow, a carnival act. The closest I've ever seen to wrestling being treated respectfully is when Stephen A. Smith had some TNA stars on his show. Examples I saw on Sunday...on The Sports Reporters on ESPN, Mike Lupica refers to LeBron James' taunting of Gilbert Arenas at the FT line in game 6 of Cavs/Wizards..."That move makes pro basketball about as classy as pro wrestling." Then, on the Surreal Life finale, Florence Henderson tells Maven that she hopes he'll get out of the wrestling business and find something better to do. Granted, Maven sucked as a wrestler and his only real contribution to the business was making the Unibrow fashionable...but why is wrestling seeming to be two steps up from prostitution? I get it...wrestling is pre-determined. It's not a sport, although the wrestlers are very athletic. But TNA gets ripped for trying to make wrestling more of a sport, and WWE tries to mainstream its product and make people aware that is also entertainment. But WWE gets clobbered as well for that carnival aspect of it. Is there something that wrestling fans can do to make people realize that it is cool to watch wrestling? I'm used to the eyes rolling of people, including some of my friends, when I'm watching RAW or Impact. But is there a way to make it more appealing to the mainstream or more respectable at the very least?

The Worst Wrestling Show of All-Time
BruiserKC replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
NWO Souled Out '97...brutal show. The only match with any slightly redeeming qualities was Eddie Guerrero vs. Syxx/Sean Waltman/X-Pac/Who Cares in a ladder match for the US title. -
Tetherball...that game was fun. Kickball was where it was at though. That was the game from 4th-6th grade where you could determine your manhood.
