I love the term "tolerance" when it comes to homosexual people. It's a fucking choice in your life, for cryin' out loud. I don't tolerate adulterers, but I guess they're not the minority anymore. Too bad for me.

Writer assistant from Smackdown writes to Meltzer
Fökai replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in The WWE Folder
It wasn't addressed to Meltzer - it was to Dan Wahlers, who wrote an editorial about the Eddie/Orton/Rey situation. It is posted on Meltzer's site, though. Take the above letter with a grain of salt. -
There are examples of shows continuing after a wrestler's death. Mike Dibiase, Ted's father, for one. The last thing I'm going to do is defend Vince's actions, but the wrestling world is shady enough that Vince would not be setting a precedent here.

I'd rather have a Redskins bias than the gigantic boner Paul Maguire has for every player in the league.

OAO 02/06/06 RAW thread - WM22 Tournament Begins
Fökai replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
Well, Big Show got his job back, so to speak. -
The Dragon Gate/Toryumon talent are already being hyped up for the ROH shows in Chicago the weekend of Mania, so that's out the window for 2/11. The educated guess would be Regal, while the sentimental guess would be London. I'm betting on Strong/Danielsen's original opponent, while Danielsen gets Regal.

The only calls I find questionable are the Stevens' fumble and the Roethlisberger touchdown, but that's because everyone was confused as to where the plain of the endzone actually starts. I was begging Madden and Michaels to tell me where it was.
-
No, he didn't. I have the game on my computer, and while Haggans is running, the ball is still hiked before he crosses the football. Even a split-second more, and he would've been offsides.
-
but wtf was hasselbeck blocking for if he was on defense?...seriously....referees need to be fired for these bad calls...only way to send a message The referres thought that Hasselbeck attempted to undercut Townsend, which is acceptable at every other angle but the endzone camera. In fact, Townsend would've had his knees demolished by Hasselbeck's helmet if he didn't sidestep at the last second. EDIT: Looking back at the holding call which would've put the Seahawks at the 2, Locklear held Haggans after they disengaged. Too bad because he got the better of Haggans; Haggans was already falling to the ground where he held him by the helmet and jersey. Either the language is too vague, or Madden is senile enough to believe that there isn't holding on every play in football already.

RE: My quote on Hasselbeck's personal foul:

RE: Stevens' fumble. Yeah, that was a fumble. It's just that Stevens has this trait where he catches on his tiptoes, so it looks like he's always trying to plant his feet as a defender is about to hit him. He takes two steps with the ball before Hope strips him. The next play, Scobey blows the punt by Rouen that could've placed the Steelers on their own 1.
-
It was an interception. Do you understand what an interception is? And it wasn't a low tackle - it was a low block. They said he attempted to cut on Townsend, not Taylor (the guy who made the interception). It's not a reviewable call and we benefitted from the magic of four thousand cameras on the field. We can be armchair quarterbacks on a lot of things - this is one instance in where we couldn't.
-
Every single one of the questionable calls came before the interception by Herndon. Talk about letting a game-changing moment get away.
-
Scobey let one of those touchbacks bounce RIGHT in his face at the 1-yard line. When the entire stadium groans at a play, you don' fucked up.

The only update I have is that the manager at my local Gamestop didn't put the Condemned disc into the case itself, which slipped by until I found out about it a few hours later (I probably should've picked up the shipment myself. The only physical game I own is Halo 2, and it's serving me well. Quick thoughts: --Fight Night 3 is fucking grand, especially for a guy that loved the first two. --I can't wait to buy Full Auto based on that demo. --Geometry Wars is all it's cracked up to be. You want me - I can understand that.

Mike Holmgren with terrible clock management? Get the fuck out!

Ford Field is gorgeous. It's a shame that the Lions have to suck, so we don't get to see that stadium packed to the gills on national television. Here's to Vince finding enough fans to cram in there for Wrestlemania XXIII.

*Austin vs. McMahon: The Definitive Collection *Brian Pillman: Loose Cannon *Hulk Hogan: The Ultimate Anthology *Born to Controversy: The Roddy Piper Story *The Spectacular Legacy of the AWA *John Cena: The Time is Now *The World's Greatest Wrestling Managers *The American Dream: The Dusty Rhodes Story (2-disc) I can justify buying every disc listed. This is going to be great.

Don't reset the scores unless we find cheaters. EDIT: Good god, Metal Slug.

I finally got the call for my 360 yesterday. Picking it up today. Based on what I've read in this thread, I'm sticking with taking Halo 2 back online (have been without Xbox access since June), while waiting for a good price on Call of Duty, Gun and anything else. If any of you have games to sell, I'll take them for above Gamestop's trade-in value. I might...just might...pick up Condemned tomorrow, but that'll be a impulse buy. Geometry Wars looks sick. That is all. Gamertag is claytronovich, my old tag. Look me up.

WWE notes from Da Meltz on Figure Four Daily
Fökai replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
I don't understand it - if Foley is well off financially, living a low-profile life that's kind to his pocketbook, why is he still coming back for paydays after the Orton program? I can't imagine his Taboo Tuesday payoff being anywhere as big as that one, and it's not as if he's giving the inspired performances that he's known for. -

Well, he also went back to Jho after that chairshot. -
Do the right thing: heckle him and bring up old threads where he looked like an idiot.

Next Month's Smackdown magazine has Royal Rumble winner on cover
Fökai replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
The Rumble winner hasn't been decided yet - HHH and Mysterio have both been built up to win with their promos this week. That's because the plan to switch brand champions was in place a full year before it actually happened. Everyone and their mother knew what was going down after Cena had been drafted. -
Dan Patrick is practically giddy after hearing that the trade is not happening, as the news was broken between a commercial break.
