  1. The show you're thinking of is the syndicated Smackdown recap show...'Afterburn' or whatever the hell it's called. 'WWE Experience' is (or was) hosted by Todd Grisham and Ivory.
  2. A quick note from Meltzer's Sunday night update ... --The WWE syndicated shows in North America replayed the Thursday night terrorist angle in different form. It was edited off most of the international syndicated shows. On Experience today, they showed Taker vs. Daivari but did eliminate the terrorists. We'll see on Tuesday at the tapings, but one of the terrorists was told that his character was being dropped. Whether it's just a lesser number of masked guys or dropping the gimmick, that I don't know.
  3. EDIT: Never mind, this angle isn't worth the time or the thread to discuss its merits or consequences.
  4. Knobbs as Hogan's evil sidekick is fucking hilarious.
  5. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh, Scherer is just too much. To stay on the topic, I agree with the idea of building to Cena/Jericho, unless the bookers are naive enough to believe they can blow-off this feud, THEN begin on Cena/Edge for the second-largest pay-per-view of the year. If it's the latter, Cena/Edge will be an afterthought, which is frustrating because it means that the MiTB stipulation was wasted on such a secondary angle.
  6. In as Washington State again. Scarlet, you follow UH football?
  7. Wasn't Tour of Duty a television series? I vaguely remember that landmine scene from a film I had seen about eight years ago on Turner Movie Classics. I had always assumed the film was Boys of Company C.

    NBA Finals

Hell, the entire first quarter of Game One shouldn't be attributed to great defense - it should be because of the terrible shots everyone was taking. The game started out like a preseason game.
  9. What? If you spoke English there I could reply back better. And why is he a hypocrite? Because the law wouldn't let him be at ONS, so he decided to do this show? Huh? How does that make one a hypocrite? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He's a hypocrite because he's bashing the show he was dying to get on - additionally, it was his mistake, not the WWE, that screwed up the whole deal.
  10. Nelson was actually at the show, but left early for unknown reasons. And yes, Sheedy looks like she's still in her 20s. Damn.
  11. Everything doesn't add up. The PPV is expected to be heavily edited on the UK PPV, expected to have a genuine shoot interview by Rob Van Dam, and several surprises that only ECW fans could appreciate. How could Vince and Dunn have final say over it? Why would Heyman agree to THAT? Finally, what would the WWE have to lose by giving Heyman total control? Either you buy the PPV (because you loved ECW, you enjoyed the hype for it, etc.), or you don't. Since the company already has the customer's money AND since it is a one-time shot, they can book any which way they please and cover their asses. Seeing Heyman's genuine excitement over the past two weeks is indictive of how much power he wields over the pay-per-view.
  12. I can't believe that the proceeding posters no-sold this gem.
  13. I'm still upset over Wolf losing Boot Camp. Seriously, even my mother starting cursing at how ludicrous the final was.
  14. Hmm. The combination of JR/Tazz sounded like the older announcing duos that I used to love - which is any combination of Monsoon, Vince, Heenan and Ventura. As a matter of fact, I remember liking the Lawler/Cole combination from the SD 1999-2000 era. If they can figure out a way to switch King and Tazz (both can't be drafted, and how do you trade for an announcer?) you instantly refresh the announcing situation.
  15. --- Dark Match: *Bobby Lashley defeated new WWE developmental signee Trevor Rhodes (formerly Stan Dupp on TNA) --- International Sunday Night Heat: *Viscera pinned Maven *Simon Dean pinned an unnamed opponent *Rob Conway pinned Sylvan Grenier. Grenier got his leg on the rope during the pinfall but Conway pulled it off. Conway worked as the heel. --- DURING RAW: *After the Batista/Triple H contract signing segment, they did an exchange for the live crowd as Triple H laid out a challenge for Batista for the World Heavyweight title at the end of the night. *After Edge ran Kane down, Kane pinned Simon Dean during the break after Simon told him Lita left him because of his pale and disgusting physique. --- POST RAW: *After Raw went off the air, the ECW contingent saluted the crowd from the ring, then left via the crowd. A lot of the wrestlers stopped in the crowd to take pictures with the fans on the way out. The crowd chanted ECW and were really into the entire segment live. *The dark match to end the show featured World Heavyweight champion Batista pinning Triple H in a "St. Louis Streetfight" in about 20 minutes. They brawled into the crowd a few times and there were two ref bumps. Batista pinned Triple H after a spinebuster on the chair. It was a really good match.
  16. Add to that list: Buff Bagwell Crash Holly Bossman Molly Holly Gail Kim Nidia Of those who choose to leave: Brock Lesnar Terri Runnels
  17. You all need to re-watch the initial pop that Cena got when his theme music started (it's on the WWE.com homepage). Don't want to jump to conclusions on how big that pop actually was - can't forget Rock's return to help Foley in December 2003, or a few others in 2000 - but it just may rival Jericho's debut in August 1999.
  18. I'm thinking Nunzio, but I'm leaning more towards Haas.
  19. The Good: v. Hogan (Survivor Series 1991) v. Bret (Summerslam 1997) v. Rock (KOTR 1999) - never seen it. v. Austin (Fully Loaded 1999) - never seen it. everything else on Disc 1. The Bad: v. Kane (EVERYTHING). v. Hogan (Judgment Day 2002) I'll pick it up. What you see is what you will get. It's all there, except for the easter eggs.
  20. The original nWo (Outsiders and Hogan). Everything they did defined the word "malicious", especially with the way the WCW workers sold it.
  21. But the Pistons' style of play is reliant on physical defense. Why risk your superstar in that type of environment? The Pistons will play a MUCH more physical game tomorrow than they will in Game Seven. Unless Wade says the injury won't affect his play, you don't risk him in this situation. The comment was that he expected the referees to basically fix the game to ensure a Game Seven to give the Spurs a few extra days of rest. With that being said, don't you think the referees will be ordered by the NBA to call a much tighter game? If that's the case, Rasheed will be picked on the whole game and foul out early in the 4th quarter.
  22. He was fired on the show prior to the Christmas RAW. December 18, 2000: Intercontinental Champion, Chris Benoit, defeated Jeff Hardy...Billy Gunn and The Dudley Boyz defeated Val Venis, Bull Buchanan, and The Goodfather...The Rock and The Undertaker defeated Edge and Christian to win the World Tag Team Titles...Chris Jericho defeated Perry Saturn...European Champion, William Regal, defeated Steve Austin by Disqualification...Jacquline and The Acolytes defeated T&A and Trish Stratus...World Champion, Kurt Angle, and Vince McMahon fought to a No Contest. (this match had the firing angle) December 25, 2000: The Hardy Boyz defeated Dean Malenko and Chris Benoit...Hardcore Champion, Steve Blackman, defeated Raven and Hardcore Holly in a three way match...Raven pinned Steve Blackman to win the Hardcore Title...Steve Austin defeated Kane by Disqualification...Too Cool defeated T&A...Kurt Angle, Edge, and Christian defeated The Dudley Boyz and Chris Jericho...The Goodfather and Bull Buchanan defeated The Acolytes...The Rock defeated Undertaker by Disqualification. I can help you, but you have to be a bit more specific. The only Foley tribute videos I've seen online are the February 28th, 2000 video and the June 23rd, 2003 video. EDIT: Googling the subject brings up the December 30th Jakked/Metal syndicates showing a Mick Foley tribute video. That MIGHT help.
  23. On that note, did you see the SportsCenter feature-piece on Mikan a few Sundays ago?
  24. Barry Bonds ate my kids.
