  1. Is this a case of bad scouting (and drafting), or trades? On that note, any prospects worth a damn in that system?
  2. Cena's Writer literally stole my pick from under me, so here's my replacement... Mike Piazza. Up to pick... JHawk Beast Bored
  3. Hawai'i 5-0 drafts Shawn Green. I'm good for Sunday, too.
  4. I'm always worried that my picks won't stand up to the others. Thing is, I wasn't too sure that Maddux would come back to me in the third round, which was a good move on my part. Hopefully, at least one of the other two that I had considered will be there (hint: one pitcher, one batter).
  5. This should've been a no-brainer for me... My favorite player of all time...Greg Maddux. EDIT: Yeah, either way for the PM thing is okay with me, Vern.
  6. I'm here. Hold on for a few minutes.
  7. You know, 10-12 people are usually here at the same time of night. (as of right now, it's me, Cuban, Flik, raz, Slapnuts, iggy and Will.) If you can just work around the others' schedules, we can easily put a chat together. As for the PM feature, I'll try to use that from now on when time permits. Just saying.
  8. I'm there, but I don't see alot of people being able to get there. I propose Saturday afternoon.
  9. Bring back Eagan. ..and no, I'm not Eagan.
  10. Smackdown is promo heavy - the matches get their appropriate time, but the show does alot of building to Mania (and some to next week). For instance, there are three in-ring promos on the show, with two of them considered to be great.
  11. With that, allowing this discussion to go further than the build of an athlete...screw SportsCenter and their asinine discussion on Barry Bonds' hat size ... Judging by the amount of punishment a football and hockey player will take over the course of a season, steroids has to be a prevalent aid in keeping the athletes from missing significant time with injuries. The toughness of these mold of players can go only so far, especially when they only have to look at past examples (sadly, Earl Campbell for one) to see what a non-steroid generation now has to endure.
  12. Velocity: Bob Holly and Charlie Haas v. The Basham Brothers Spike Dudley v. Scotty II Hotty No. 1 Contender Match (champion Chavo Guerrero doing commentary) Akio v. Paul London Smackdown: No-Disqualification Match Heidenreich v. Booker T Luther Reigns v. Mark Jindrak Ladder Match Kurt Angle v. Mike Haywood (including a promo to hype a match next week). WWE Smackdown! Tag Team Championship Match Eddie Guerrero & Rey Mysterio Jr. © v. JBL & Orlando Jordan
  13. Hawaii (16-12) beats San Jose State (6-23) by 24. Sure, it's a cupcake win, but we're only three games (although they're all going to be tough) away from a NCAA berth. Go Bows.
  14. Happy Birthday. I forgot to thank you for the archived Red v. Blue episodes - much obliged, and stuff. As a gift, check out my new sig picture. Enjoy 19, the most insignificant age of them all.
  15. If he wins the ladder match this week... Then defeats Jannetty next week... What's left? Winning the cruiserweight title? Losing his smile? Revealing his Wrestlemania trainer to be Jose Lothario?
  16. All of three us know each other beyond the board. IK should be on soon - probably didn't know the pick would came back around so fast.
  17. Exactly.
  18. It's a possibility that Benjamin pulls double-duty; it fits in with a possible storyline that sees Benjamin run into the problem that the IC title has to be defended at the show.
  19. In my opinion, the ladder challenge is there to further the storyline - Kurt keeps one-upping Shawn by throwing out ludicrous claims and challenges, which Shawn kepts rejecting with the same "been there, done that" schtick. This will either lead to a straight-up match, or something that hasn't been done at a Wrestlemania (2 out of 3 falls?). Next Monday, Shawn will challenge Angle to a first-blood match.
  20. A few more, inspired by recent viewings: Snatch -- two big ones; the 'REPLICA' monologue and the entire scene where the same guys attempt to rob the bookie. Dicaprio escaping from Hanks in the apartment scene in Catch Me If You Can. When 'Runaround Sue' started playing during Little Big League (more for personal reasons).
  21. re: Bored's post. Canseco accused Sosa during the SportsCenter interview he did a few weeks ago (the one before the LaRussa interview on 60 Minutes).
  22. What Vern said. $10 million is a high asking price for a above-average cornerback, especially when it involves losing a franchise quarterback, the ability to shore up the offensive line with the remaining money, and the future problems taking on a player who's only contracted for one year.
  23. nogoodnick and I can both do 4 rounds (combined this to save a post).
  24. Given my user name... I select Andruw Jones. Bored, Will, Cuban.
