  1. ...from imdb.com...
  2. That's my point. The older fans are retards with no taste. By that, you mean the loyal fanbase who've been there the whole time? Face it, Cena's schtick also appeals to an older crowd - if it didn't, he'd be in Orton or Hardy's shoes right now.
  3. You weren't who I quoted. ...because the HHH/HBK feud was the bigger focus for a PPV than a Benoit/Kane main event that was slapped together? Benoit defeated all of the contenders on the brand sans Kane, even though Kane had an ongoing feud outside of the title picture. Total record: 18-4-1 (two losses were handicap matches, another had Orton going over to build Summerslam, last one had La Resistance going over to pop the Quebec crowd). Record against Evolution in any form: 12-2 (one match handicap, other had Orton going over to build Summerslam).
  4. His reign was horribly mis-booked after the first few months. They made him look like shit. Here's his week-by-week results after he won the World Championship... March: --with Michaels, defeated Orton, Batista and Flair in a handicap match. --defeated first challenger, Rhyno, by submission. --with Michaels, defeated Batista and Flair for tag titles ("dusty finish" changed it to a DQ). April: --defeated Rob Conway. --with Michaels, Benjamin and Foley, defeated Evolution. --(PPV) retained World Title over HHH and Michaels. --with Edge, defeated Batista and Flair for tag titles. --with Edge, successfully retained tag titles over Batista and Flair. May: --defeated Shawn Michaels to retain World Title. --no match. --with Edge, successfully retained tag titles over Orton and Batista. --with Eugene, defeated Coach and Cade. --with tag titles, lost to La Resistance (home team went over) June: --with Edge, lost to Kane and La Resistance in a handicap match. --(PPV) retained World Title over Kane. --with Edge and Jericho, defeated Orton, Batista and Flair in a elimination match (sole survivor). --no match. --defeated Kane to retain World Title. July: --with Edge, lost to HHH, Flair and Eugene. --(PPV) retained World Title over HHH. --went to a NC with Eugene. --defeated Batista by disqualification. --defeated HHH in an "Ironman Match" to retain World Title. August: --with Edge and Jericho, lost to Orton, Batista and Flair. --with Eugene, defeated Orton and HHH by disqualification. ...and your point has now been squashed.
  5. So, will it be like this... Round 1. 1. Team #1 2. Team #2 3. Team #3 4. Team #4 5. Team #5 Round 2. 1. Team #5 2. Team #4 3. Team #3 4. Team #2 5. Team #1 ...or will it be a random order for each specific round, as it looks like you stated?
  6. Make that five seasons - my mistake, and I edited it. Judging by the stats proceeding the 2000 season, you are correct about the term "fluke".
  7. Wasn't it only five seasons ago that Darin Erstad was among the top five hitters in the AL? .355/.409/.541, 25 HR's, 100 RBI, 240 hits, 39 doubles, 121 runs, 366 total bases. Boy, I remember having him in a Sandbox.com fantasy league, and he was just a point machine.
  8. In a perfect world, the 76ers would buck the trade deadline and trade Webber to Milwaukee, just in time for their game this Tuesday. Webber would eventually be traded around the league after a team's loss, in order to guarantee a victory in their next game.
  9. Corrected.

  11. Classic.
  12. Here's the direct link... --WWE Raw crew starts tonight at MSG with a cage match with HHH & Ric Flair vs. Randy Orton & Batista, Edge vs. Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho in a submission match, Kane vs. Gene Snitsky, William Regal & Tajiri vs. La Resistance and Shelton Benjamin vs. Christian for the IC title. They have a show tomorrow afternoon in Springfield, MA with HHH vs. Orton for the title in a cage plus Edge & Flair vs. Michaels & Jericho, Benoit vs. Batista (I have a feeling that would change), Kane vs. Snitsky and Benjamin vs. Christian. On Sunday, they go to Agannis Arena in Boston for the first time ever with the same show as Springfield except Benjamin vs. Hassan is booked there. The live Raw comes from Providence on Monday with Benoit vs. Hassan and Edge vs. Michaels in a street fight. Superstar Billy Graham is booked for all four shows to do an angle. --WWE Smackdown goes on tour tomorrow night at the Palace in Auburn Hills with JBL vs. Big Show for the WWE title, Undertaker vs. Luther Reigns, John Cena vs. Orlando Jordan for the U.S. title, Booker T vs. Heidenreich, Rey Mysterio & Eddie Guerrero vs. Bashams and MNM (Joey Matthews & Johnny Nitro, managed by Melina Perez) debuts vs. Charlie Haas & Bob Holly. The same crew works Sunday in Columbus, OH. Monday in Danbury, CT they continue although Undertaker vs. Reigns will not be in Danbury. The TV tapings are Tuesday night in Albany. We're looking for reports on all these shows as well as the top indie shows at [email protected]. --WWE commercials for Wrestlemania just started airing this week with the top matches listed as HHH vs. Batista, JBL vs. Cena, Angle vs. Michaels and Orton vs. Undertaker, plus the return of Steve Austin. --The MTV web site has another Rock article talking about his WWE contract expiring. It's the same story that has been written about for a month now with his same quotes. There will probably be a lot more on it coming up since Rock is coming to New York for a week on Monday to do promotion for "Be Cool." Gary Davis of WWE was quoted in the article using the "administrative oversight" line. I wonder if anyone in the company has picked up on just how bad that looks to the real world? Like anyone believes some clerk dropped the ball on the date of his contract expiring. I know, that was the real story with Frankie Kazarian, but Rock isn't exactly Frankie Kazarian. --Poll on WWE's decision not to sign Rock Good idea 11.5% Bad idea 73.7% Not sure 14.8% --Steven Richards will be undergoing surgery on Tuesday for various facial injuries suffered in the Monday Raw match with Chris Masters --Smackdown did its usual 3.7 rating on the overnights based on the top 56 metered markets last night, putting it in 5th place among the six networks. The top competition shows were Apprentice at 11.0, Survivor at 12.9 and CSI at 19.8. Based on the past few weeks, that indicates probably a 3.4 or 3.5 final rating. --Wrestlemania will be priced at 14.95 pounds in the U.K., which is the usual PPV price. The schedule that night is Afterburn at 9 p.m., Bottom Line at 10 p.m., Velocity at 11 p.m., the live Heat at midnight and Wrestlemania is booked as a four hour show from 1-5 a.m. Discuss.

If you're referring to the Baby Bulls as the unit of Hinrich, Gordon and Deng... Bulls, but not by much. The Hawks have all the potential to succeed, but I doubt that any of them outside of *maybe* Smith wants to stay. Both of the "Baby Hawks" were born and raised in Los Angeles, so I'd expect them to bolt.

I'm sure that they had an inkling that he wouldn't report to the Hawks. ...and Payton won't sign with the Celtics. He has his pick of the playoff contenders that he could go to (Minnesota, Dallas, etc.). EDIT: Ripper -- c'mon, it's "Baby Al" for a reason. He's only 25 years of age.
  15. I felt the same way about the decision, until I realized what nine innings entailed... With nine innings, users on the other end of your game would be able to drag the game out, and thus pressure you into quitting.
  16. Yeah, I wonder how much money Vince is blowing on his movie division. The guy just cannot accept that outside of wrestling, he is the biggest business moron of them all. Wrestling- Marketing genius Other- you are better off buying stock in Billy Beer The good thing is he has 250 million, the bad news is his projects are getting bigger in terms of spent money. Bodybuilding- Cheap football- little more costly movies- very costly What's next? WWE Airlines? I don't think the movies are nearly as bad of an investment as the XFL or the resturant. You'll at least see a return investment, not to mention that the advertising will be done in-house, which saves them $50 million over the course of the film contract.
  17. Correct - those are only 2004 sales. ECW recently passed Flair for the highest-selling DVD in company history.
  18. An observation: If and when Vince retires from his position, he'll defer his off-camera responsibilities to Hunter. As much as he cherishes Stephanie, he expects her to be head of creative and little else. Shane is now overseeing the WWE Magazine division, in addition to his WWE Head of New Media position. Without Patterson and Ross, who will Vince turn to? Enter John Laurinaitis.
  19. Yeah, I wonder how much money Vince is blowing on his movie division. The budgets for the Kane and Cena movies were each $10 million. With that, I highly doubt they're going to spend anywhere near that on the films with Austin. I love these threads, too.
  20. My schedule is wide open.

It was Payton, Gugliotta and Stewart for 'Toine -- sorry for the disappointment Frigid.

    NBA trades

They've only got two more years of suffering through the meat of the bad contracts. In two years, they've got: --Houston (final year) --Shandon Anderson (final) --Marbury (3 yrs./$60 million) --K. Thomas (2 yrs./$15 million) --Crawford (5 yrs./$44 million) --JYD (final year, team option following year) --Sweetney (team option) ALREADY GONE: Hardaway, Tim Thomas. With these upcoming picks, providing they sign Ariza, they're set for a bright future. EDIT: Don't know how Mo Taylor and Rose will factor in.

The Blazers GM decided that they didn't need to move anyone - of course, now they have a max contract (Randolph) and Miles (6 yrs./48 million) riding the bench, while the trade bait plays on the floor. With FOUR expiring contracts (Rahim, Ratliff, Stoudamire, Van Exel's team option) which account for nearly $48 million and yet they couldn't get any value back. Having the second-largest team salary in the NBA means that you should probably have a direction with your stars and roleplayers. EDIT: And yes, the Knicks do know what they're doing. Kinda.

This is all part of the master plan of Danny Ainge, guys. I smell a Dino Radja return.
