  1. The Hawks also won without Al Harrington, who should be out until the break with tendonitis in his right knee.
  2. Yep, though his archives are still on 411mania.com.
  3. It doesn't take a translator to figure this one out -- the last cel is great.

    Dynasty?

As for the future, I don't see the Patriots changing much next year, even with the coaching changes under Belichick. Two years from now, Brady's contract will be up. That's where the real challenge will lay...what will the team be willing to shed to keep him aboard?

    Dynasty?

Exactly. The Patriots won't be able to dominate for the amount of time the earlier dynasties did - the NFL has made sure of that. Their fan should just relish in the victories and call them the "team of the 00's", because they won't be looked at so lovingly as Bradhaw's Steelers, Montana's Niners and Aikman's Cowboys. It's arguable -- people like to argue about the length of a dynasty -- every other Google'd definition of dynasty precedes with the phrase "over a considerable length of time". An article I found on Google about the cap. Parity can be argued either way, and so can the era without the salary cap.
  6. Another unanswered question: Why did Westbrook catch that ball on 1st and 10 on their own 5, with 20 seconds to go? He was in the middle of the field with a one-yard gain, for christ sakes.

    Dynasty?

To me, though the Patriots deserve the title of "dynasty", they are not on the same level as the Steelers, Niners and Cowboys of their respective eras. The Irvin quote sums it up to me - dynasty should be a term for domination, which each "dynasty" has done before that. No one had SHIT on the Niners in their championship years -- the last two were essentially over before the game had even started. The Cowboys, although a tougher case, would seal their fate in the NFC Championship games, which were the tougher tests in those two decades of NFC dominance. The Patriots squeaking out three Superbowl wins (against three different opponents) clearly indicates the parity around the league. With that, the NFL may have effectively squashed any chances of a true dynasty for the near future.
  8. Amen. Living the game vicariously through T.O. was fun to do - I'm frightened to imagine the game that offense would've had without him.
  9. The aforementioned FedEx commercial and the Bud Light commercial with the skydivers (great ending).
  10. That just means you had bad opponents.
  11. It was a pretty easy decision to make, if you're going to fault ESPN for pulling the plug.
  12. The personal trainer on Smackdown.
  13. It might be a phishing scam. Here's a similar thread from the DVDVR board -- http://board.deathvalleydriver.com/index.php?showtopic=27886 Googled other stuff: Castlecops.com covers a similar scenario The forums at PayPalsucks.com. Sure, it may be a bit biased, but you may get your answers there
  14. For me, it's the only Superbowl commercial I ever looked forward to - "WWF: Get It?". Going back to that game, though we had about 15 wrestling fans around the television, we had no idea when the commercial was to air, so we'd take piss breaks during the game itself.
  15. Bullshit. None of his starring films (Scorpion King, Rundown, Walking Tall) would've been as successful in the box office if it was ANY other actor. The problem doesn't lie with his drawing ability, but with bad word-of-mouth due to the rest of the cast around him (remember the last time Seann William Scott was an action star in a film? Bulletproof Monk, anyone?), and how poor the story was written (i.e. the "remake" of Walking Tall). 99.9% of the box office gross was due to people wanting to see the Rock -- you're delusional to assume it was anything else. Scorpion King: BUDGET: 60,000,000 GROSS: 90,341,670 Supporting cast: Michael Clarke Duncan, Kelly Hu The Rundown: BUDGET: 85,000,000 GROSS: 47,592,825 Supporting cast: Seann William Scott, Rosario Dawson, Christopher Walken Walking Tall: BUDGET: 56,000,000 GROSS: 45,860,039 Supporting cast: Johnny Knoxville, Neal McDonough Seriously, tell me any other actors that would've made those films work.
  16. That didn't stop them from inducting Santana and Valentine. Valentine, at the very least, is LOVED by the MSG crowds, which I'd suspect that motivated Vince to put him in the Hall. Need proof? Valentine, a very successful heel in the late 80's, did a face turn in 1990 for no other reason to capitalize on the crowd reaction -- at Madison Square Garden, or course.
  17. With the boxing/wrestling configuration, Blaisdell can hold about 9,000 at capacity - I'd say it was a sell-out too, based on how hot the Hawaii scene is for the WWE, but the advertising for a "RAW/Smackdown Super Show" was piss-poor by the WWE. I'd hope so too, because the Blaisdell usually pulls this off with good lighting. With that, you'd be in for a treat, because the acoustics in the arena does a great job with the theme music.
  18. The Saitama "house show" is a television taping for next week's Smackdown. Velocity will be a studio show, most likely.
  19. The first pick in next year's NFL Draft - D'Brickashaw Ferguson. God Shammgod was the first name that came to mind, though.
  20. It's also a lineup that can legitimately win the NBA Finals -- can't say the same for the 2003-2004 Heat.
  21. A voter's argument is that Wade was there last year, whereas Shaq was not. Unless Wade's statistics head towards Lebron levels, voters will give the vote to O'Neal. My prediction is Lebron -- I expect Nash's numbers to tail off a bit when the Suns trade backcourt depth (Joe Johnson) for a premier frontcourt defender.
  22. If most of the Rumble revolves around Batista, they can't finish with HHH/Orton. Either we get an Evolution turn on Batista, or he wins the Rumble -- simple as that. The focus, then, won't be on HHH/Orton the match, but Evolution as a storyline.
  23. Very interesting, indeed. On the other hand, many wrestlers have very successful websites (Jericho, Helms, Batista, Trish, Victoria, etc), and the WWE haven't asked them to take their site down (at least not publicly).
  24. None of the promotions have gotten to the negotiation stage with Lesnar - they're busy falling over themselves trying to get his services.
  25. He can't sign a contract with another promotion until the roster freeze on his WWE contract expires (March 15th, 2005).
