Okay - I marked for Randy Newman, the Huckster and Rob Schneider. On an episode of Monday Night Raw. Kill me now.
-
Huh? When he joined MIA, he was referred to as AWOL.
-
The reporter took Williams' quote to him of context, then printed that Williams just wanted to throw the elimination game, just so he could go home quicker. Taking THAT of context is a pretty big deal.

It would require them to pay for the damages inflicted upon the machines and other various stuff. At this point, WWE cannot afford that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not that the WWE is slumming for money, but they could go the cheapie route and just fight through the casino, using chairs and gimmicked machines.
-
That's not the issue, though. A lot of substances which are banned in sports can have positive effects. Whether wrong or right, if they're against the rules, the player who violates the policy should be punished according to the standard that has been set. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The original post was wondering why he'd do it at this stage of the game. Even if it's a banned chemical or not, the practice of those types of steroid is commonplace in professional sports. Hence the punter from the NFL testing positive. For example, I took similar steroids to rehabilitate from a wrist injury in high school to race back to the basketball team quicker. It's just that the banned list in MLB is so comprehensive, that shit will get cracked down, whether you know it's illegal or not.
-
How come the WWE has never booked a street-fight or falls-count-anywhere match at Mohegan Sun or a similar casino? Seriously, there are so many avenues the bookers could go down with that idea.
-
Does the testing policy test for all types of steroids? Are all types considered to be "performance-enhancing" drugs? ...because the steroids he tested positive for, were probably those that help with older players that play through minor and major injuries (Palmeiro, Clemens, etc.). Those allow you to stay injury-free, or at least maintain your body at a high level for a long time. Not all steroids are bad, dude. If they were sworn under oath, Congress will do it just to look like the good guy in this situation. The whole 'testifying' thing was bullshit, anyway, so I doubt that the media will care.

It's now on the ESPN crawl. He's suspended 10 days, but will appeal the suspension.

Everything that has been said, or will be said, will come after me, so I might as well make this short and sweet: Thank you, Dames, for allowing us the privilege of posting here. This is the first place I visit when I log on to the internet, which can range from either once every two months to once every hour. This has been my homepage for three years. Yes, there are forums that are eerily similar to TSM (i.e. DVDVR, the spawns of TSM and anti-TSM), but this forum has maintained something that keeps me coming back, even when there's no new posts in the middle of the night. I guess it's the atmosphere, because it hasn't been created on the boards previously mentioned. That being said, even if the board did stop on August 15th, 2005, I can say that I've come out of this being a bigger wrestling fan, a bigger sports fan, a DVD junkie, and most of all...a bigger smart mark. Thanks.

It was more of why Cena wouldn't be offended by Brock choosing Batista. Unless Brock chooses Cena, you don't want to remind the fans of Brock's victory at Backlash. But, if Brock says something like "Cena's a great champion and all" blah blah blah - "but it's Batista that I want" in the least offensive way possible, Rudo's scenario works great.
-
The problem with winning the Rumble is (if it can considered a problem), why does he choose Batista? I'm sure that Cena will still be holding the WWE belt by then, which is the one that Brock held. This is also taking in consideration that Brock has a history with Cena, not Batista, and has the upperhand on Cena, the top face of the company. Since the last time they've met, the roles are *completely* reversed (Cena - the 'rebel' heel of the brand, now the 'kissing babies' face of the company, exact opposite for Brock.)
-
Please, no more trades that involve giving me position players, unless they're top-tier players. That being said, if anyone needs offense, I'm willing to part with at least two players for below their value. What I'm looking to do before the day is done: --move at least (2) position players, for keepers, starting pitching or draft picks. --consolidate my keeper list. If you're looking to win this year, or get someone off of my team that you like, don't be afraid to propose anything. I'm looking towards next year, while also focusing on making a run for the postseason with a possible return of Hafner and Eaton.
-
I'd drill my eyes out if Mariano gets in quicker than Glavine does - no offense to Yankees fans, of course.
-
I'm looking to package a few top-tier players of my own for a draft pick and/or a keeper. Only one that's 'untouchable' is Cabrera, and even then I'll listen if the price is right.

Joey Goodspeed, fullback.

Where is the Steamboat love coming from? He had considerable input with his direction in NWA, yet Steamboat's character was terrible, especially since he never evolved over the years or added a twist with a heel turn. Hell, I think that's the problem with a lot of WWE characters right now. EDIT: Of all of the WWE talent that could be used, Al Snow seems to be one of the few that wouldn't drag the brands down with old-school booking. He'd make use of the workers and characters worth using, then probably junk the others. With him, I'd add: --Vince McMahon (top guy) --Triple H --Court Bauer --Mick Foley (mostly promos, works with road agent and workers to refine them) --Paul Heyman (in a small, defined role) ...and any combination of new writers. Of the talent already under contract, all of them would defy Vince's ideas if it meant that was good for business. What does Heyman, Foley, Snow, and HHH have to lose by arguing with Vince? All of them would stick up for Bauer, especially if you just put him on the wrestling side of things. Problem with this list is, I don't think you have a ratio of good wrestling angles to good wrestling (which you can't help but have now). Any ideas?

I'm thinking you're underestimating Andre just a tad.
-
Chappelle asked for them not to be aired.
-
Well, this is his third year (as you know), so it's a pattern nonetheless. The writers just take the easy road of saying that "his arm wears down over the season, as evidenced by 2003 and 2004", so even though their point is retarded, it holds to a degree. EDIT: This is especially considering that he SUCKED in the last three starts, all after the ASB. I mean, if Dontrelle kept struggling going into September, the criticisms would've only gotten worse.
-
Neither here or there. It could've been a request by the Hawks to exercise the option to agree to the trade, since he would've been a free agent at the end of the year. EDIT: I'm pretty sure the team options don't carry over to the next team.
-
According to PWI, Noble signed yesterday or today.
-
But, considering the history of return angles, how do you book his return as to make the marks aware of Brock coming back, but not have it so that they fart on the actual return angle? That may be exaggerating the reaction to a degree, but you get the picture. Does the WWE run the risk of having the marks turn on Brock for his departure, or should they just chalk the Goldberg match to MSG smarks in the audience? Going down this road, what is the correct way to re-introduce Brock (angle-wise) to get the desired reaction from the fans?

The post-Summerslam house show cards for Smackdown are pretty fucking good, at least at the top (from Meltzer's Tuesday update).

RE: Rudo's review. Although I'll be the first one to say that I loved Season 4 & 5 more on a whole, you didn't like 105 (Lisa's Rival) and 111 (Lisa On Ice)? Now that I think about it, they're the only Lisa-centric episodes that I ever liked or appreciated. You're right about seeing the decline of the series starting with Season 6 - they had three amazing episodes in the season (107, 112 and 123), but the end of the season basically dragged to the finish line.
