  1. No, I just found it weird that he defended Juvi and the division, whereas Juvi hurt him with the 450 and could've done much worse. Of course they shouldn't ban moves when someone gets injured. All we'd have left is a eye rake and the atomic noogie. I'm saying that the WWE at least has a REASON to do so, being overly concerned over everyone's health and well-being to the point that no risks are taken. That's exactly what I mean, though. All they're doing is overreactiing by eliminating any possibility of an accident, which although doesn't happen often, happens more with these moves. It's not as if they're saying "hey, let's fuck with so-and-so and eliminate piledrivers and top rope moves", which is what this thread has been about. EDIT: On a personal note, the 450 is a legitimately scary move that I don't want anyone to complain about not having. No, I'm not agreeing with this ruling, but watching any move being set up shouldn't make me flinch and hope for the best. London has been doing reliable ones for a while; it's just that everyone else is just so sloppy with theirs own variations that he's the one being punished.
  2. Why the fuck is London bitching? Didn't he have a alternate finisher that he used to use? For a guy who was almost decapitated by a 450, not to mention Chavo's injury via SSP last summer as well as Brock's botch, he's awfully quick to defend *others* using the move. ...and really, the WWE banned most moves with a head-drop manuever a few years ago. Is it really different from this situation?
  3. Juventud just likes to ruin everything, doesn't he?
  4. HCTP was accurate to about right after Summerslam. Don't know about SD v. RAW.
  5. I wonder at what point does the developers decide on a character list, set the build after that roster, then keep working with what they have. I'd set this roster in mid-April, which is still before MNM and before the big release. It's weird that they can't just substitute Haas and Jindrak with two other workers so that the game storylines won't be interrupted (which is the only excuse they could have). I mean, No Mercy did it with Stevie Richards quite easily, even if it didn't look right.
  6. OT: Did it have a head-and-shoulders build over the other two big matches? I don't recall much fom that month, but it's just revisionist history that allows people to put the matches on the same plane. I doubt that they could've sold tickets to EIGHTY-THOUSAND PEOPLE without Bulldog facing his brother-in-law as the main event. Unless we're talking about the drawing ability of Nailz. Which I guess we can save for another thread...
  7. Only thing I can imagine is the second basemen running away from the bag (basically in shallow right field), so first base is his only play, but it's impossible that Kaz Matsui can't beat that throw to second.
  8. ESPN has it as : "C Beltran grounded into double play, second to first to shortstop to pitcher, R Castro and J Reyes scored, K Matsui out at second." ...the fuck?
  9. Here's a detailed account of what happened, according to a 1Wrestling.com reader. Originally, I had thought that it was his wife that had shot him...
  10. The link... Do batboys get paid? If so, I'd guess that there's a conflict of interest.
  11. I'd say it's a push because of how McKie was used last season (16 mpg compared to Atkins 35), and the effectiveness of Vujacic replacing Atkins this season. With the amount of minute-eaters the Lakers have on the bench (Walton, Jones, Slava, Cook) not to mention the rookies, McKie will probably serve as a backup plan for injuries. If it were simply my personal feelings, I'd say it was an upgrade, because I fucking hate Chucky Atkins. No real reason. I just hate him.
  12. McKie and Anderson are both good fits for their respective teams. Just my opinion, but If the roles were switched, I don't see DA working out with the Lakers.
  13. I'm looking forward to seeing six pages of one-liners and jabs by people that think that they're funny. Hey guys, here's a tip on why the Ross Report was so great: unintentional humor. Okay?
  14. Even if she's accomplished everything she has ever wanted to do in the business, she's a bargain (regardless of her contract) for the revenue she brings in. Then again, Chyna and Sable were untouchable commodities too, so if she ever feels she's bigger than the business...
  15. Quote of the year.
  16. The guy's been ripped for a few years now. Proof is the Wrestlemania XIX commercial he did with Steph.
  17. Seventeen groundball outs by the Cubs.
  18. Chipper with two homers in the game, including a two-run shot (at a breaking ball, INTO the Wrigley wind) in the ninth to take a 4-2 lead. Damn.
  19. I was just about to post the matchlist until I read UTSHU's post. Anyway, here's the back cover, if you can make it out.
  20. Neither man should play the heel; this shouldn't be played out as 'good v. evil', or 'good v. less good', but strictly the top two performers of the past two decades. Austin shouldn't play catch-up in a promo to Hogan's heat and vice-versa. It's a matter of simply dividing the fams until the blowoff at Mania. If played out right, especially with the usual hot crowd in Chicago, the reactions to these guys are going to be etched into our memory forever. I'm not really excited about the Austin/Hogan program right now, but given the promos, video packages and retrospectives that this match will generate, which spans every significant angle in that time, March 2006 is going to be a HELL of a month for WWE television.
  21. You know....Michaels will probably turn again tomorrow.
  22. You can find both PK ('This Week In Baseball') and Ripper ('Offseason NBA Thread') in the sports forum, among other places. The three females you mentioned have been MIA for at least a year. EDIT: Vern Gagne = Culloden Hastings.
  23. If anyone needs players for a second TSM league, I'm in. I want at least two teams to manage for the season. EDIT: If you're reading this and are interested too, leave a message so we can drum up owners.
  24. Hooray for positivity in this thread.
  25. I drafted Rudi Johnson and Tatum Bell in consecutive rounds (2nd and 3rd). I think you are talking about 'Preseason Holdouts", who drafted Peyton, Holt, Reggie Wayne and Cadillac in said rounds.
