  1. Well she would have been around that age when she got her start in USWA.
  2. I wouldn't think it'd be Jericho just because I would imagine he'd feel a certain sense of loyalty to Vince for pushing Fozzy.
  3. I get the feeling that they are going to be focusing on 2005 stuff and later for the dvds. They did release some old TV compilations from , I guess, 2000 or 2001 but everything else has been from this year. Maybe when they get caught up with the 2005 stuff, they'll go back and start releasing some older shows like the RVD show.
  4. Yeah it's her.
  5. I think Abyss will get the title at some point but it'll probably be one of those 'didn't see that coming' wins out of some King of the Mountain match. As for Killings, I like the guy but like bps said, he's been down so long, he'd probably have to do something drastic to be taken seriously as a top contender again or built up anyway. As far as Brown leading the promotion...why not? Didn't I read he made a pretty good impression on TBDSSP and other tv spots? He's an ex-football player which gives him a bit more credibility as being an athlete. Maybe he needs to be carried in the ring but put him in there with vets (which will also help build him up getting wins over them) and then see where it goes from there.
  6. There's no way Christian can just walk in and win the NWA title at any point in the near future because you know what it do in the eyes of the general public? Career mid/ upper card Christian walks into TNA and wins the NWA title exposing the rest of the roster as being several notches below WWE. As for Monty Brown, save for the nonsensical heel turn, was being pushed very well. Workrate......fuck workrate. The guy was over huge with the TNA fans and they wanted to see him succeed. Put the backing of the company behind him and push him at the title. It's still a business and they can't appeal to just those people that wanna see 4 star matches all the time. Brown does have this aura/ charisma about him like a guy like Goldberg did in his early days in WCW. And they need to capitalize on it soon. I personally hated Hulk Hogan as champion in the 80's but he had the charisma and the magnetic personality to draw people to watch him. And that's the bottom line to all of it.
  7. Stern got on the bandwagon a little late this time. He's at least 2 shock jocks behind. At least I've heard of him unlike the others. As for all these radio guys.......fuck em. They don't get it and they don't care to. They've seen an easy target demographic to get people worked up.......they get their hate mail/ calls and can say "Hey, people listen to me! People know my name!" Then they get a contract extension. I'm offended but giving them the attention is what they want. I'd much rather go past them and to the advertisers and let everyone who pays to advertise on their shows then if they support them, I won't be buying their products. Not that it would probably matter because they can replace them.
  8. Maybe because wrestling doesn't have an offseason, we see these people weekly and develop a connection with them without ever meeting them. There's no legit reason I should cry over the death of Eddie Guerrero.....never met him......never had any kind of contact with him.....but I did. Then I see the reactions of the people who worked with him and travelled with him and part of it becomes crying for them for their loss. I watched Raw on tape after I got home from work and I teared to various degrees during every interview and some of the other things. It wasn't as bad as the Owen show but I guess the finality of Cena placing the shirt in the ring and then the belt upon it and that it was such a classy gesture finished me off. The worst part is still to come for me because I know what's gonna happen when GCW does the 10 bell at the show on Friday.
  9. The battle royal was brilliant in it's absurdity. The pillowshots, Austin Aries emrging from the bathroom to enter, gets thrown out Alex Shelley ( I think) and then runs right back into the bathroom (Nothing says FIGHTING SPIRIT like cutting a dump short to get in a match). Despite being "come as you are" Delirious managed to be the only one in full ring gear and he brought the pillow and a blanket with him. So, I assume that D is always ready for a match since it was 4:00 in the afternoon and he's in ring wear.Claudio throwing European uppercuts with the pillow on his arm. he also managed to curl up in the corner with them and try to doze off. as for the actual show.......really really good. Mercedes vs Sara was very good.MsChif vs Melissa .....Daizee vs Lacey........the 4 way elimination..........Allison Danger playing the face ( I had never seen that before) vs Rain.......Ariel vs Rain....... They annouced the first dvds would be out in December.
  10. It was a good show but probably the least memorable of the five ROH shows I've seen. I don't really remember one match standing out over the rest. Joe vs Daniels was good...Strong vs Dragon was good.......the 8 man was good ( I can't believe my Daizee turned heel!!) ...Whitmer vs Claudio was good ........ Nothing really blow away great but a lot of good. The Chicago crowd to me seemed more toned down than usual. And I've heard reports of attendance at 850 which I honestly don't believe. Honestly, I'll remember more of the SHIMMER show the next day than I will the ROH show.
  11. Bring back Legend and it's Thug Life all over again. This is really good news. I love the idea of Christian in TNA and he could help solidify their status in the eyes of the general public.
  12. He has 741 goals and 650 assists in 20 seasons with Calgary, St. Louis, Dallas, Detroit and Phoenix I think he's third in career goals
  13. I dig The Golden Brett. Sorry to see him go. As for what team he goes in the HOF for......from a biased standpoint I wouldn't mind seeing him go in as a Red Wing but I just always see him as a St Louis Blue.
  14. Dave Prazak has been pushing women's wrestling in the States as a viable, respectable product. For fans of women's wrestling, this is going to be really good.
  15. Ok the MsChif chat is scheduled for Monday, October 10 at 7 pm central/ 8 eastern. http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/MsChif/ MsChif's Yahoo group
  16. The people affliated with the MsChif Yahoo group and MsChif herself are kicking around the idea of doing a MsChif chat one night next week. Right now, we are kinda leaning toward Friday 10/7 at 7 pm CT but it's not a definite set time and date yet. This post is to gauge the interest in the idea and the best days of availibility for people that would be interested in attending. http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/MsChif/ MsChif's Yahoo group
  17. With Mercedes being based in the northeast and this promotion running in the northwest, I doubt they'd be able to bring her in very often.
  18. As far as I know, the only shows booked in the near future are Sept 23 in Overland and the 24th in Cape.
  19. All good shows. Manhattan Mayhem gets a lot of hype as being one of the best two or three shows this year
  20. To me , there is . If for no other reason , then the reason that HTQ just mentioned.
  21. But it seems to be the concensus that he's going back in the fall which means another short two/ three month run. And from the reaction, quite a few people aren't willing to just blindly accept another short transition reign to another guy known to be leaving anyway just because GABE booked it. Punk's was different because he went total dickhead heel which contributed to the whole angle. If Gibson turns heel, it's a virtual copy of the Punk angle and if he doesn't, it's basically just giving the guy the title just to give the guy the title and do a couple of "dream" defenses. Did they really, really have THAT much invested in the Gibson/ Punk thing that he just had to go through with Gibson winning the belt? I know there were a couple confrontations but it's not like it was a "feud" per se.
  22. Maybe if Strong gets his singles push then Evans/Sydal will team regularly for a while before that happens. They do have a match of experience together (Reborn :Stage 2). Then maybe Evans will take to bending the rules and Sydal will disagree and then he gets booted.
  23. Damn I thought this was Delirious' best shot at an ROH win finally. With Gibson leaving , they are having another 2 month short term champ? The Punk thing was innovative and shocking. This isn't. So we'll get a couple alleged "dream match" defenses , I guess. I thought either Punk would retain or a freshly heel turned Alex Shelley and the Embassy would sneak their way into the match by taking someone out. And how long before GN does the Ole Anderson on Sydal. Over/ under =6 months?
  24. I'll definitely buy Chikara when that dvd comes out. Reckless vs Cannon could be great.
