No love for Scola? Meh.

23-27 loss. Gave up 2 TD passes to their backup QB in the 4th quarter.

Dama, McShay and Kiper were doing their little debate thing and the issue about the Jags having a chance to pick up Jason Taylor for a 2nd round pick instead of "reaching" for the two guys they picked. Well, McShay out right asks Kiper where he heard that and Kiper stumbles at the question so McShay just smirks and says "Yeah, you're lying.. you made that up." Kiper then just glared at the camera as if he was going to kill McShay

why the fuck did we draft a QB?

That would be Todd McShay

So far I've liked out 2nd day picks. The CB and LB we picked up are guys we can build up this season, give them some special teams plays and start slotting them into positions as the season goes on. Slaton was a surpise that I'm happy to have. Only position that "they" (ESPN, NFL.com) say we need is a safety. We'll probably pick it up with our next pick (151) so we can use the last couple of picks we have to flesh some things out. Now I just have to hope we stay healthy this year and don't have people spending more time on the DL then they do the field.

Kane just looks like someone you'd come across if you played DnD... someone like Hell's Blacksmith.

How did older Browns fans take the move? I could see a lot of older fans lose interest because it isn't "their" Sonics. Even if we had kept the Oilers name and colors, I think.. no, I know there would've been a group of fans that wouldn't have supported the team because "their" Oilers play in Tenn. now. To some of the younger fans, those in the 30's, I could see it not really mattering because they either didn't have enough time to bond with the team or they've got enough time ahead of them to bond with the new iteration of the team.

So I just got back from Reliant Stadium where they were holding a draft party. As we were watching, we figured we'd get Aqib.. maybe Jenkins at our original pick. We then realize that Mendenhall is falling into our lap.. that we can get a solid RB and pick up an OT later. ...but we trade. Most boo but some figure that we were able to get a 2nd rounder in the deal. Nope, a 3rd and 6th. Nice move guys.. nice move. Still, Mendenhall's dropping and we figure we might still pick him up since well, all the highly touted OT's are getting snatched up. Mendenhall goes. Okay, Jenkins. He's still there.. solid CB. Dallas moves in and snatches him. Yeah, thanks alot fuckers. So now we sit at 26th and "reach" for a tackle that was a converted TE. As soon as that pick was made, the stadium became a ghost town. Reporters were roaming around trying to find people to talk about the pick as we filed out to go home. I can only hope that this tackle can slide into the LT spot and protect Schaub and in doing so, give us a better running game.

10-9 loss in our first game this season.

This only works if he comes out to that music sampled by Jay-Z and on the old Budweiser ads. Also, he must be smiling and dancing to the ring. During promos he should bust out into song and from out of no where, sixty people must begin to sing and dance. Edit: He must also have a love interest. One that due to social norms he cannot attain, even though she loves him as well. He must then win the hearts and minds of her family or group to finally have his dream woman.

Just have to adjust the sliders for both of your cases. Where you find the general set of "rules" for the CPU, turn down its baserunning aggresiveness along with their stealing aggresiveness..should help cut down the steals.

Augustin and Abrams have decided to declare for the draft. Texas will be lucky to finish in the top half of the Big 12 this year. Edit: Story from Austin American Statesman

My problem with McGrady is that he seems to always go down with an injury. Its as if you whisper MVP or "playoffs" in the Toyota Center, he just crumples up and has to sit on the DL. His "I'm Sorry" comments? It was childish and not needed. He wants to call out the team? Then fine, call out the team and man up and say "I've done what I can, if the team can't pull their own weight, then start blaming Scola, Battier and the others. I'm not the only one here..." What he did could've (if it already hasn't) seperate the team and give more fodder for people who don't like him to start bitching about a trade.

Yeah, just gotta go the sliders option and change it up. I think its in either game settings or one of the VIP settings, I can't remember which.

I can't speak for Browns fans but as an Oilers fan, the Texans will never... NEVER be the Oilers. The Oilers were our team, it was the history of Bum Phillips, of "Luv Ya Blue".. hell, of Buddy Ryan decking Kevin Gilbride in the mouth on national television. They moved and now they're the Titans. Try as hard as they do, the Texans aren't the Oilers. They try all of these "battle red" and "steel blue" days to get the crowd involved, but its forced. I don't need to be told what colors I should wear to a game.
-
Yeah, at this point in time... they've got it in the bag. That miss and Utah almost scoring... yeah. Edit: This was not a T-Mac victory. Fuck that strained labia having bastard. Thank the lord for Rafer and Landry.

Rockets up by one. They'll fuck this up and lose.

So with Brett being retired and all... does this mean the curse is broken? -
I gotta agree with Czech, we do have silver as a color for the team. Granted its on the red uni's and its only trim, but on that jersey.. its pretty much the only other "big" color aside from the white text. Then again, I'd be more than happy with Houston going back to the mid-90's red/yellow/orange scheme and shift the logo back to said timeframe's logo. On the topic at hand..I hate the Sonics moving. I was never a huge fan of them but to see a city lose its team sucks. I should know..having the Oilers just up and move to Tennessee has left me bitter towards the now Titans and the owner. Of course, his actions after the move (interview on TV saying that he'd place the superbowl ring on his middle finger.. a gesture towards Houston..doesn't sit well with me, also his blocking Houston from using any of the Oilers color scheme or team history) have made me hate him even more. I don't want to see the OKC team fail per se.. I'd just like maybe to see it sit in mediocrity.. always a 9th or 10th seed with maybe an 8th seed here or there for them to get smashed out of the playoffs.

I see your Husker fan Lushus, and I raise you with an Aggie fan. (When the Livestock Show and Rodeo was in town, I wore my Texas button down shirt. Nearly every step I took, I was glared at by Aggie fans or alum looking for a way to try and kick my ass..)

I haven't voted yet, but I'm voting awesome. The hatred for the South is borderline assinine. Most of the points you made were about things that happened well over a hundred years ago and to even act like there wasn't any racism in the North during that time is retarded. The blacks that made it up North weren't fucking welcomed with open arms, a snifter of Brandy and a soft bed with warm food. I will agree that Texas does have people beat as far as the football crazies go. Its a bit scary to go to a visiting town to film the game and notice that the entire populace is packed into the stands. Food? Yes.. its greasy. Yes, the moment you even look at it your heart begins to lock up and beg you to look the other way. Fact is, its great tasting as all hell and actually fills you up. Its something that brings us all together either one day of the week or month. The influence we've had on music and literature is enormous. Like Ripper pointed out, we're also a pretty easy going people. ...Florida. Not deep south however.

CV, I think there's some place in Sharpstown Mall called "Game Express" that deals with things like that. Its where we (Gamestop) tell people to go to try and get things fixed with their systems.

Maybe Dama can answer this for me: Is the divide between Sooners and Cowboys so great that a potential name couldn't reflect a bias towards one over the other on the chance it alienates fans?
