Maybe I can explain it. Christopher Nolan finally gave a faithful adaptation of a literary character (comic or not) in movie form. This series has solid actors, is faithful to the comics, and is still grounded in real life. Batman is one of the most recognizable characters in fictional history. This film has the Joker, one of the greatest fictional villains of all-time, and he will be depicted faithfully for the first time on film or television. What is not to get? Your reasoning is similar to children that have never eaten a certain food before, but they state their disdain for it.

Not sure if this has been posted before. My friend saw it out in Tahoe so I looked it up online.

I knew it was Iran Contra and Reagan, and I was pretty sure it was Ollie North. Just wanted to make sure.
-
Duh, because if they won all those games they would be in first place!

Yeah, I saw that but it's not his knee. Also, Taker does not have chicken legs. He is pretty proportionate to his upper body. He just has really long legs at 6'10". This is not a Kevin Nash case.

Rookie Collin Balester is looking pretty good for the Nats. He has thrown 35 pitches through 3 innings of perfect baseball. This is his second start, and he threw 4 no-hit innings last time before giving up one hit and one run in five innings. He threw 95 pitches in five innings that game, so he is looking a lot better in this one.

I'm sure we all know that I am a huge Reds fan. However, I must say that only Edison Volquez deserves an all-star roster spot at this point. Griffey is not having anywhere near an all-star season, and Brandon Phillips (as good as he is) falls short to Chase Utley and Dan Uggla. Utley has been tremendous most of the year, and Uggla has been super-hot lately. Phillips struggled for a stretch this year, and is a tremendous player all-around. He just falls short the first half of this year. I do think he will get the Gold Glove this year over Orlando Hudson, who I felt should have come in second to Phillips last year. Joey Votto has been solid in his rookie season, but you have Berkman and Pujols at first. Even with a DH, there are people out there with better stats than Votto. Jared Burton might deserve a look, but typically you are looking at starters and closers in the all-star game. Edit---As I typed that out, Volquez gave up two (nay, 3) runs to the Nationals. He has had an excellent season, but it seems like he is giving up more walks, hits and runs in his outings lately. Hopefully he is not hitting the wall.

Is that Ollie up top?

I'm shocked they haven't done that yet.

If this has been discussed elsewhere, I apologize. Please direct me to the thread or post that covers it. What is the best MLB game (with the rosters for this year) for the 360? Gameplay, controls, and realism are more important than graphics to me. Are there downloads available that allow you to update rosters or that adjust the ratings of the players based on what they have done this year? I have been out of the baseball game scene for a looong time and have no idea what is considered the best franchise at the moment. Thanks!

The V makes the antennae of the butterfly design. I showed my girlfriend and she said it was a beautiful belt. Perhaps they want to get a better women demographic watching their shows? I don't see anything wrong with the belt myself.

Decent idea in theory, but what would stop someone else from declaring themselves "Nature Boy?" I think it would just be better to have Flair managing Reid in a few years and if the "Nature Boy" moniker goes to anyone, it's passed on to Reid.

I knew a guy in high school that drove his vehicle without keys. He lost his keys, rigged a door so that it could not be locked, and somehow figured a way to start his car without the keys. He would just turn the ignition without the keys in it and it would start.

Happy birthday to alfdogg, one of my favorite posters.

Crono should have stressed his workout regimen of pushing the carts in the Walmart parking lot. The dedication to his physique could open him up to a myriad of other women on that dating site.

I don't want to turn this thread into a Redsfest and derail it into offseason free agency/minor league talk, but the Reds have started opening the checkbook under Bob Castellini. Perhaps in another thread I will run down the roster, salaries and contracts for their young guys, holes they need filled, etc. This team has a lot of bright spots for the future, and I hold out hope that they will be a top contender on a yearly basis after taking another year or two to get all the pieces they need.

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2008/07/arroyo-for-vict.html This says that trade rumor is bogus.

I already go there. I don't particularly care for any of the Reds messageboards, as there are similar things at each of them that I can't stand: -"My source says there is a big trade going down soon. I can't reveal any particulars, or my source would get upset." This is followed by 13 other people with their sources, and multiple pages of speculation and dumb trade ideas that should never happen. -Posters that do nothing but dog the team and players day in and day out. Even when the team wins, they complain that they are not in first place. They expect every player to hit .330 with 30 homers and 100 RBI and never make an error. Griffey hits a walk-off homer and everyone is sucking his dick. If he strikes out the next day, they should trade him for a bag of baseballs.

A poster over at espn.com's Reds board says he has a source telling him that it is a big-time regular that everyone on that board is clamoring to be traded. Now of course, you take that with a grain of salt because no source was listed and it's the espn board, but the players fitting that description are Griffey and Arroyo. "Big-time regular" makes it sound more like Griffey. I haven't seen anything on any reputable site that has any info on a trade about to go down.

Wow, I just read a follow-up on the Michael Inoa signs with the A's story. Supposedly, the Reds offered $5 Million with a Major League contract, and the Rangers offered $5.2 Million. He chose the A's ($4.25 M) because he felt they developed young pitchers the best.

Man, the Diamondbacks continue to slide.

I have taken this test before so I got a 20/20. It was a Facebook app that I no longer have, but I think I got 19/20 the first time. I am glad that the test is at least this difficult (to those coming into the country).

The Rockies have had a few players injured for large amoutns of time. If not for that, they would have been better. The NL West doesn't look good at all right now, and they probably would have been right up there with Arizona if not for those injuries.

He didn't just put it there, he re-visited it many times.

Perhaps I am missing something, but I thought it was pointed out that prices were low at Amtrak because taxpayers are funding their losses? More rails would most likely just cause the monetary bail out to go up. Also, where would the money come from to build the necessary rails to make a big difference? I don't think the ends justify the means in this scenario. Some of those short plane rides are a necessity due to the size of an airport and the trips available from each airport. Now obviously, a large airport to a large airport is not the same as what I am talking about, per se.
