I knew what you meant. I was just clarifying for others.

The time that I took it over was me just joking around. Cheech didn't ask me to take it over. If anyone wants to send me some facts, I guess I will do it.
-
I guess it is not $1M each week. I stand corrected. This makes it even more of solid decision by WWE, because that money will be recouped in no time.

He is enjoying retirement, actually. Either way, he ain't coming back.

Yeah, the Phillies are one of the best hitting teams in the league, and Utley is flat out raking right now. Bailey hasn't looked particularly impressive in Louisville over his last several starts, but replacing Josh Fogg and Matt Belisle's stats in the 5th spot isn't that daunting of a task. I believe their combined ERA is 8.48. Mat Maloney and Daryl Thompson were other rumored callups for the position, but Bailey was ultimately the guy. Maloney has similar stats to Bailey (better record and 1 CG shut out, though) and is a lefty. Thompson just got promoted to AAA and pitched 7 shut out innings on 4 hits in his only game so far. Obviously they would like for him to be in AAA for longer than one game to track his progress. I think putting Fogg on the DL and calling up Bailey gives the Reds the youngest rotation in the NL. Can anyone confirm this? Edit---Here is the Reds 5 man rotation with ages: Harang 30 Volquez 24 Arroyo 31 Cueto 22 Bailey 22 Avg age: 25.8

Apparently Homer Bailey was called up to the majors and will face the Phillies on Thursday.

I'm sure every team wanted Jay Bruce, Marv, but it wasn't something the Reds considered. Bruce was tagged "Do Not Trade."

I first started filling up at $1.25/gallon, and I had a 32 gallon tank. $40.00 for a monstrosity that might have gotten 10 miles to the gallon. I always estimated 6, though.

Luger and Taz were two of the people I was thinking of that surprised me they hadn't been selected. There are stilla few more. Bam Bam and Backlund were on a second tier of guys.

Mellow and Broward: The rules that were laid out for multiple man units were discussed between you guys and some others through pm, not to the posting public. It is understandable that those of us who weren't privy to the details of why one team can be taken and another can't would ask questions and or complain about the decision. My point with nWo was meant to be absurd, but there is at least one glaring example of more members of a unit that did the rotating tag thing. Earlier, someone took Edge and Christian and there was lots of talk of splitting them up as singles. The consensus was that it probably would be okay. You have a rule on the first page that that wouldn't be cool. Did that guy have to take a bye? If not, he has to use them as a tag team only, same as xXx, right? If xXx is used as a unit same as a tag team, then why would Broward need to take a bye in the next round? It just doesn't make sense. I am not trying to cause problems, but the logic doesn't add up here. I know it is your draft and you can do what you want, but this should have been discussed for the public. I bet 909 wouldn't mind throwing Crush in for Demolition if it wouldn't cost him another pick, which it shouldn't if he has to use them solely as a tag team anyway. PM me, mellow, if you want to know the team that I am talking about above.

So someone could take as many wrestlers as he wanted and all he gets are byes? That is fair to the people behind him? That rule doesn't make sense, mellow. I can think of several situations where that rule could be abused to death. And again, him taking a bye the next round doesn't make the fact that he got an extra wrestler out of turn fair at all.
-
Yes, but how is that fair to get a tag and singles guy in one pick unless you are the first or last person in a round? Like I said, why not pick the rest of the roster of the nWo and skip your picks until they run out? That shit isn't fair.
-
I am but an observer in this, but there is no way a guy could pick three people with the same tag team pick. If the Freebirds were available, and some others that have used the multiple defenders gimmick, you should have to clarify which two of the wrestlers you wanted for the team. Edit---What would stop someone from picking "nWo" and getting everyone they had? I mean, they teamed as the nWo all the time!

If dude's ear wasn't hanging by a thread and bleeding, I would say they let Kimbo get the knockout punch. I mean, he was out on his feet, it appeared. It's funny, though; I watched Kimbo's first EliteXC fight the other night, and it looked like the dude took a dive. EliteXC definitely favors it's meal ticket winning right now.

Hey! I ain't that old! This was back in '98 or '99.

Although he has been slowly stalking 600 so far, I sure as fuck hope Griffey won't still be trying for 600 in the middle of June! Chipper Jones had a shot at 400 this series where Griffey had a shot at 600. On a side note, Griffey has been flying out to the wall a lot lately, or lining out hard into the shift. His swing is coming back around, and he's due to bust out. I'd love to see him get hot, as a lot of the Reds lineup is already hot right now. Griffey and Encarnacion are the ones not pulling their weight at the moment. With Hairston and Bruce at the top of the lineup, the club has been moving people over and manufacturing runs much better. There have been double steals, sacrifices, good baserunning, etc. Bruce really breathed new life into these guys.
-
I can't count how many tag teams I still have left, and several guys that should have been taken by now over other picks. I understand it is individual tastes and such, but you would think one of the 16 guys picking would have taken on of these guys I am thinking of by now.

As good as Hamilton is, I take Volquez in retrospect. Hamilton is a special player, and I think he is going to get better. However, he lost a few years of baseball, and is now 27 playing his first full year barring injuries. It will be interesting to see how his body holds up this year. He had nagging injuries all last year, and I get the feeling that he has done some damage that could prevent him from having a longer career. I see him going on the DL for periods of time, and it may screw up his power if his legs aren't there. Volquez has been very good so far, but his walks and high pitch counts could catch up to him. As of today, it was an excellent trade for both teams, but I am glad we got a very good starting pitcher. Bruce will replace Hamilton (hopefully) with the offense, and is 6 years his junior. Volquez hopefully has some dominant years ahead of him as well. As bad as I wanted to see Dunn traded for Volquez instead of Hamilton so we could have Hammy and Bruce on the field at the same time, I am pleased with having the guy with the lowest ERA in baseball. Every time he takes the mound, he puts us in a position to win. It is hard for a position player to do that.

I'm going to get an order in on a Bruce jersey ASAP. Time to call my friend in Cincy to see if she can pick one up cheaper.

I can't remember the exact figures that I did on Griffey and the missed games, but it seems like he missed 2.5 full seasons since joining the Reds. An average of 30 homers a year would put him above Willie. Perhaps the injuries curttailed his production during the games he played, so he perhaps could have been closer to 700. Even with the missed time and injuries bringing down his production, he has put up HOF numbers. He still plays a mean outfield, and is robbed constantly due to the shift. He still has a lot of talent for a 38 year old with his injury history.

For $1 per pick, I am available as a personal consultant.

$0.69/gallon is the lowest I ever paid. It was $0.79 in most of WV, and as soon as you cross into VA, it is typically 10 cents cheaper. I remember when putting $10 in gas in the car would fill it up.

I know it was your opinion. I was stating my own.
