  1. After this upcoming three game series with the Cardinals, EVERY SINGLE Marlins game for the rest of the season is against the Mets, Phillies, Astros, Braves, and Nationals. The Marlins playoffs start Thursday.
  2. I guess the only real thing of note was Tony Yayo and 50 cent going off on Fat Joe after their song, calling him a pussy boy and a hundred other things that got bleeped out.
  3. Every team in the NL WC race lost today.
  4. I agree totally. Very cool.
  5. Delgado just went opposite field for a 3 run HR to tie it in Chicago. Up until that point, I thought Zambrano was gonna shut the Fish down. First regular season audible yell I've let out in awhile... I was really doubting this game had any chance... EDIT: So much for that...
  6. Word of mouth is the king. Even though Grimm didn't receive the highest reviews, that's still a Matt Damon movie.
  7. Tomorrow would be a logical time to start one, so either I will start one tomorrow or I'm sure someone else will.
  8. Well, with Joe Mauer and King Felix already established in the bigs, I really think that the #1 spot next year belongs to Delmon Young. #18, Jeremy Hermida can very well be called up to the bigs in the next week, in order to make the postseason roster. Ask Al what he thinks about Hermida. He is like Jeff Francoeur, except he also takes walks. A lot of them. He is probably one of the BEST OBP guys in the minors, and he has some gap power. He will make a GREAT #2 hitter for September and the years to come. The only slight problem is he tweaked his wrist, but if the Marlins are smart they will call him up. The only real things that stand out to me, at this moment, are the low placement of Zach Duke (someone ready to be that good at the MLB level should have shown up a bit higher) and the fact that there is still no sight of Ian Stewart and Joel Guzman. Granted, the list reflects overall potential and not necessarily MLB-readiness for 2005, but they are ranked high enough that you would think they would have at least made some waves at this point.
  9. I just watched the Mapinguari preview video on Lost Links. Wish I hadn't. It had some spoilers. I wish I didn't watch it the first time, but after the damage was already done, I watched it three more times. It certainly has me ready. 25 days and counting.
  10. Phils, Nats, and Mets all lose. If Houston and Atlanta both lose, it will be a good day for the Marlins. The Marlins aren't going to win the wild card. I can almost guarantee that. Because they are winning the NL East.
  11. Whoa, the Hatch Promo they have on there is incredible. I can't wait for the season premiere.
  12. Dontrelle outdueled Greg Maddux today for win #18, going 7 1/3 allowing only 1 run. I just hope that someday he can mature into an ace.
  13. No role given for Rudy. Could he possibly be the bad guy?
  14. I don't deal in hyperbole, like Downhome, so it may actually mean something when I say this movie is now in my all time top 5. I was belly laughing the entire movie. When he went after her on the bike and Heat of the Moment started playing... that just sealed it.
  15. Jeff Conine owes Jason Vargas a steak dinner, tonight. He totally blew that play in the outfield, costing Vargas three earned runs. I came home from work and the Marlins were up 7-0. Now it's 7-5... they better not lose this one.
  16. More proof that the numbers mean nothing but bad news... Did you know that the numbers that are the center of a mystery on Lost (4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42) are all numbers that have been retired by the New York Yankees? In order, Gehrig, Berra/Dickey, Munson, Whitey Ford, Mattingly and Jackie Robinson. from ESPN.com.
  17. Bubble Bobble would go over huge. Trust me.
  18. I was just coming to post this. Running over teenagers with a stolen Escalade. Wow.
  19. Hey guys, don't look now but the D-Rays have the 3rd best record in all of baseball since the All-Star break. Also consider that their two best players are in AAA right now (BJ Upton and Delmon Young) and their "star" is out for the year with an injury (Baldelli). I'm telling you, if they signed one marquee pitcher they could put together a flash in the pan season next year.
  20. You know why Wedding Crashers is succeeding so well? Parents LOVE it. My parents, and all the parents I know have gone to see it and have told others who have gone to see it. It's connecting with all audiences - not just the typical Vaughn/Wilson crowd.
  21. Jason Vargas (rookie) threw a CG, 1 run effort for the Marlins today. Fourth reliable pitcher? He's 4-1. Great surprise, he was just drafted last year. I figured Olson would succeed in the bigs before Vargas.
  22. You want to talk incredible... how about the Marlins pitching? Willis: CG Shutout Beckett: Shutout Burnett: Coming out in the 9th for a CG shutout. And with Washington, Philadelphia, and Houston all having lost or losing, we can be looking at the new wildcard leaders. Alright, alright, alright.
  23. Holy positive reviews. 90% fresh and the reviews themselves are totally gushing over this movie. I am hoping to see this tonight. Anybody see it yet?
  24. I can't wait until the Marlins play the Phillies. I might have to convince my girlfriend she needs to visit her parents in Philadelphia just so I can go see one of the games. They've won every series since they split 2-2 with the Cards. Another shutout tonight and Burnett throwing tomorrow. It's hard to not be optimistic with the pitching staff.
  25. Apparently a Phoenix radio station has said Clemens. A station in Detroit has said Clemens and Jeter, while a station in Boston has said Clemens and Damon. The Clemens rumor is certainly gaining ground and could definitely be the rumored player "who will bring MLB to its knees." I'd be shocked if it was Jeter - that's probably just a garbage rumor. Again, just a rumor, but it's just about everywhere now so I figured I'd post it here. EDIT: And apparently Rob Neyer might know something...
