Well, with the Marlins out of the race, I'm trying to decide what teams to pull for this October. Right now, I'm thinking Cardinals and Red Sox. What it really boils down to is that I would be happy with either the Cubs (it's not a full blown rivalry yet) or Cardinals emerging from the NL and anyone but the Yankees from the AL.

How is that spoiler even logistically possible? I have to see how it plays out to make a decision, but I have to think there's more to it than that. How did the polar bear get him up in the tree? And how does a "polar" bear live on a tropical island? I have to see next week's episode.

I liked it a lot. I don't really want to wait a week to find out what happens. It looks like next week's episode is a much better episode. Not to say tonight's episode was bad, but it was more of an introduction than anything else. I agree with everyone else that if it were dinosaurs, that would be very bad. And why all the spoiler tags when talking in if language? You're not spoiling anything.

Ha. I love how everyone bickers senselessly and then Al comes in and throws down the hammer, with I dunno...facts. For what it's worth, I'd like to see the Twins succeed, and at least win one series, preferably against the Yankees.

I actually kinda liked it. There were a few funny parts. I mean, I didn't have any belly laughs, but I think it could get better with time. It was only the pilot. I'll give it a few more weeks.

That basement looks just like one my friends had at West Chester University in PA. I guess all college basements just kinda look alike.

They almost did, but Juan Encarnacion pulled a two run homerun back over the fence and the Marlins ended up with the split. How about David Weathers, hero of the day. Unbelievable. I thought it would be a split, but with the outcomes of the games reversed.

So, tonight is the pilot for Listen Up, 8:30 on (I think) CBS. It stars Jason Alexander as Tony Kleinman and Malcom Jamal Warner as the Michael Wilbon character. Kleinman is, of course, Kornheiser, and the scripts for this series are loosely based on a series of columns Kornheiser has written about trying to relate to his teenagers. I'm hoping it will be good. I love PTI and I think Jason Alexander is a funny guy. I can't see it lasting 10 seasons or anything, but I hope it lasts at least 2-3 solid years. What do you guys think about this show, and whose watching tonight?

You're right, but calling Beckett and Benitez shaky is not very accurate. Josh Beckett has battled the DL 3 times this year, and on his first start after his first trip to the DL, he had 8 Ks through 3 innings before he pulled a muscle in his back in the next inning. His record doesn't really show how good of a pitcher he is. And Armando Benitez has been the most lights out closer in major league baseball this year. I'm not too optimistic, mostly due to David F'n Weathers starting game two of the doubleheader against the Cubs today.

Did anyone watch the 49ers game today? Why did Kevan Barlow stop getting carries toward the end of the game? Did he sustain an injury?
