TSM Poster Tournament II
Mik replied to rising up out of the back seat-nuh's topic in Poster Tournament
Isn't this a little too soon? -
Dayum. Thank God we finish with the Mets, and when the Phils come to Pro Player next week things will be different. Marlins are MUCH better at home (but then again who isn't?)
-
The Marlins are NOT a dull team. They have two of the premier on base percentage men on top of the lineup, Pudge, Conine, Lowell, and two of the most electrifying pitchers in the NL. They are fun to watch on TV because something is always going on. That's just ca-razy.

1 pm tomorrow afternoon...D-Train vs. Millwood. I'm glad, D-Train is a good afternoon pitcher and the Marlins have fileted Millwood this year. Too bad I won't be around until around 3:30...can catch the end on Gamecast at least.

Finishing the series with the Phils with the wild card lead is locked! Sweet.
-
I thought the same thing Lando. Stupid. Spike TV isn't the best network ever, but still.
-
He shot well for a reason, and the movie even showed it. When you lose one sense you gain another. He shot terrible until they made noise and he was able to tell where they were from the sound. That's not an inference either, the movie made it pretty clear.

Let's hope things get turned around in Philadelphia
-
Damn Braden Looper. Marlins were cruising to the sweep when he came in and gave up 5! in the ninth. 1.5 up heading to Philadelphia for a crucial series on Tuesday that features an ESPN game on Wed. Do or die time.
-
He was 75 and his wife was 38? Good for him.
-
There's no shame in losing to the Marlins.
-
6 run first. 8-3 Marlins, in front of over 40,000. Dontrelle wins number 13 and the Phils are down by 2 in the sixth. Oh happy day!
-
I got Gin and Tonic too.
-
Technically, you are right. But if it comes to that it will already be in the playoffs. Unfortunately for the Phils, Judgment Day is Tuesday.
-
Oh, I agree totally. But he's the owner of my team now and therefore I'm down with him. As far as I'm concerned he's better than John Henry and Wayne Huizenga combined.

For those who care... Senior year first semester: NS 441: Nutrition and Disease NS 401: Empirical Research (Looking at the role of n-acetyl transferases on folate metabolism. Fun stuff. NS 403: Teaching Apprenticeship NS 332: Methods in Nutritional Sciences PHYS 101: Intro to Physics I have like almost no free time. Senior year is supposed to be easy, doh. Going abroad killed me.

I heart Jeff Loria (not really but I feel that's the best thing to say in this situation).
-
Brad Penny leaves the game in the first inning. Braves plate a run in the top of the 8th to open a two run lead. Marlins are losing, right? Nope, a little small ball later followed by a Juan Pierre double down the first base line and the Marlins are 1.5 up on the Phils and less than 10 back of the Braves. Since the Marlins pretty much own the Phillies head to head...Giants better get ready.

This thread needs to be resurrected, because the Marlins are winning the fucking wild card. I was just dreaming as a fan of the team when I first posted this, but after tonight's come from behind against all odds win over the Braves in the 9th moving the Marlins 1.5 up on the Phils... I don't doubt it for a second. Phillies fans just need to realize that they gave it a good shot and sign a few more free agents.

Holy bragging, Batman. This isn't really the place for that, Boo. If you're going to do it, at least do it right. I'm 21 and am going to graduate with honors from one of the 10 best schools in the United States. To not become a millionaire in the next 20 years I practically have to be hit by a bus. I will be going to Berkeley on a full scholarship with the chance of a $27,500 a year NSF grant that would just give me spending money. In six or seven years when I'm Dr. Walsh I will pull in 100,000 a year bare minimum. I also lived in Australia for six months for just about no cost...and I saw the entire continent. But Boo, unlike you who bragged just to brag. I'm doing it for a reason. See, Dames, I was raised by a single parent and we never had a lot of money. Still don't. Coming out of high school, I was no superstar. I still ended up at a better school than all of my valedictorians because I refused to accept otherwise. Everyone laughed and told me that I'd fail out within the year and that I'm not smart enough to go to an Ivy League school. And I almost proved them right my first semester. It was all just too much for me. Fast forward 3 years and everything that can have gone right...has. I've made the Dean's List a few times, raised my GPA to 3.4 and have become pretty respected by the faculty of the number one nutritional biochemistry department in the country. Why? Because I never fucking gave up. I never sat down and felt sorry for myself...like half of the people giving you advice here did. If you want something in your life, go and take it man. You can't be a pussy and complain about your problems for the rest of your life. I will wager that you're smart enough to get it done. Any reason why you're not is nothing but excuses. YOU and YOU ALONE have to look at yourself in the mirror and get the fucking job done. You can do it. You sound smart enough on here. Now go and get it done.

Everyone I know is graduating college this year... in 4 years. And that includes all my high school friends.
