The Giants are the only local team I ever bothered to support. My friends and I talked over the holidays how happy we would be if they just beat the Bucs. I've been thrilled with the Dallas/GB games and I just wanted this to be close enough. So yes, I'm feeling pretty damn good about this.

Brock and Kimbo would be an awful fight in a few years. I'd love to see Kimbo try to defend against Brock's takedowns and ground and pound. In regards to Tank, though. I'd be shocked if he won. He was such a douche on Inside MMA this week. Every week the other panelists talk about themselves a bit but when asked a question about another aspect of MMA they do their best to discuss it intelligently. Not Tank! Every single fucking thing came back to him in some way even if the connection was very loose. And of course he has no respect for Frank Mir, blah blah blah. I hope Kimbo puts a hole in his face. They want to take a few steps back for Brock's next opponent but they don't want to take a Colin Robinson sized step back! I'd be shocked if they went that low down the totem pole. Hardonk is possible, maybe an Eddie Sanchez. Fiveouncesofpain seems to really like Carmelo Marrero for Brock's next fight.

Randy Couture is the heavyweight champion but for legal reasons they can not (or don't want to) strip him of the title. I'm not exactly sure of the exact legal reason why they want him as the champion - but they do. I think that deep down Dana probably wants him to come back so he hasn't stripped him yet. Minotauro is the "interim" champion but in reality he IS the heavyweight champion because all indications are that Randy is never coming back. Georges St. Pierre is the interim welterweight champion because Matt Serra hasn't defended his championship in nearly a year and pulled out of his championship match with Matt Hughes on 12/30. Matt Hughes wanted it to be a 5 round fight because he felt like he had an edge in cardio and training over GSP. They wanted to have someone to call champion while Serra was on the shelf for so long.

Oh, one more point: anyone complaining about Brock's salary isn't thinking clearly. It's easy to tell by the bonuses that they raked in the cash for this event and will continue to do show for any show he's fighting on. He's worth the money.
