  1. I really fail to see how that is "awesome."
  2. To nitpick, the Hardcore title doesn't really count in the "Grand Slam" of titles. It's just Euro, IC, Tag, and World. I always thought Venis was overrated, and not that great of a wrestler. I enjoyed him during his Chief Morley run, but any character other than that I never cared for.
  3. I love every WrestleMania! Except 2, 7, 11, 13, 15, and 16.
  4. From a wrestling standpoint, I don't see how this program is any better than what we have today. The selling and blown spots are definitely not few and far between. I love it for the historical and nostalgia value, but the wrestling is atrocious.
  5. I tape the MNW's on VHS, using Nitro on one tape and RAW on another. I also tape any pre-1997 WWF/WCW PPV on VHS unless I have nothing to add onto it. For example, if Uncensored from 1998 comes on, I will use a fresh VHS tape to record it rather than taping it after Mayhem 1999. I like to keep things in chronological order. I tape the HOF, Legends of Wrestling, TNT, Prime Time Wrestling, and Shorties on DVD. I record everything mostly in SP format, so if one half of the shorties take up a lot, I either just record matches I don't already have or don't record at all. I don't know why I became like that, since I will record anything more than once just in case I lose a tape or dvd, or it gets damaged. I used to record Old School on VHS, but haven't done that in a while. I record ECW, NWA, WCCW, AWA, CWF, etc. all on different VHS tapes and just wait until the tape runs out before starting on a new tape. I record WWE specials like the UT 15-0 and the Ladder Match if I don't already own the DVD. I record the HOF with the biography part first, and then the matches right after, hoping it will fit onto one DVD. This past month, Bret Hart's matches and bio were obviously long, so I used two DVD's for that. I used to not record any SNME on DVD since I already have the complete collection (same with COTC), but lately I have because the quality would be better. I don't record any new WWE PPV's since I just order the DVD from Amazon and it's always less than half the price of the PPV and better quality than if I were to record it using the LP format on my DVDR. Wednesdays and Thursdays are usually my catch up days, so I try to record everything new within the span of Wednesday and Thursday. That way I don't miss anything I might want to watch later on. I don't use my DVR much for that, just start recording and leave. I'd rather have everything taped so I don't have to waste my time watching that all night since I wanna watch sports, news, etc. I do check to make sure I didn't tape over anything. I think I'm a nerd.
  6. Thanks a lot for the info. Sounds like that would have been pretty cool, but I don't blame them for nixing it if it would potentially destroy their Japanese fan base, given how important their tours are over there. Let me justify why I think it would have been cool. It was something different, and back then I didn't care about anything like who would find it tasteless because I was a jerk. Obviously, I grew up.
  7. Excuse my ignorance, but after reading some of the posts above, what was the backlash of the Hirohito gimmick? I got back into wrestling around this time, but I only watched RAW, not Smackdown. I'm positive Kenzo only appeared on Smackdown with Rene Dupree as a tag team. Can someone fill me in on the blanks? Thanks. Hah, I rhymed.
  8. Luger vs. Hogan for the title on the 100th episode where Luger wins the belt.
  9. Just because it's listed as 1 minute long doesn't mean you can't watch the entire 60 mins. I recorded the entire thing and mine is listed as 1 minute.
  10. Well, Smackdown was always the better show until 2004. I rarely watched RAW because of HHH, so I probably would have watched RAW if RVD was champ. Only because it was something different, though. Never was emotionally invested in him, though.
  11. Haven't there been numerous reports that Jarrett is happy behind the scenes and has no plans to return to the ring?
  12. Or that maybe in the feud, they should have had a few title changes. RVD won every single match, and the feud became boring. (I know Jerry Lynn probably won a match, but RVD won all the matches that mattered...and it became boring for me)
  13. PBP is what?
  14. RVD getting the same fellatio treatment as Santino. Sure, you can't compare the two, but RVD wasn't that great of a wrestler. He had so much charisma because he talked about how he would get high all the time.
  15. You ban PongKong, but let people like goldengreek continue to post?
  16. For the first time, I ordered the encore of Beware of Dog because I was not home by 7pm, so during the encore, they had the first match, I believe it was Marc Mero vs. someone, and then it cut straight to the main event with HBK and Bulldog. So I got to see both those matches on the encore. What happened when it was live?
  17. I wonder for Beware of Dog if they will air the first match of the PPV on that Sunday, air the rest of the midcard right after that, which took place on the following Tuesday night, and then show the main event from the Sunday PPV. Doesn't make sense to show the first match, the main event, and then the midcard after all that.
  18. What's this about Comcast not having any HD PPV channels? I keep seeing an HD PPV channel with WWE and MMA listings, but since I just got HD, I haven't been able to see any. Is HD PPV only available in select markets with Comcast?
  19. Guess I have to hand out the memo. Khali didn't kill the guy, for the last time.
  20. I just got HD this week, and man does Smackdown look awesome on it. Too bad Comcast doesn't have a USA HD channel so I can watch RAW in HD. Loving this Batista/MVP match.
  21. I don't know what's more embarassing...a 10 game losing streak or being swept in a home and home against the Leafs. Hawhawhaw
  22. And it only took one of their superstars to beat and strangle his wife to death, suffocate his own son and commit suicide a day later to make it happen Kudos to WWE Still doesn't take away the fact that their policy is still more stringent than the other major professional sports, which are put on a higher pedestal in society. Nothing was going to prevent what Benoit did (yeah, I said his name), but it's the easy route to blame WWE.
  23. Orton's also a father now. I doubt the reason he "grew up" was because he was given the title.
  24. It's a shame they've had to suffer through such a shitty Raw Seriously, was it really necessary for this to be a three hour show? How exactly is this such a shitty show? It might not be the best, but it hasn't been bad either. Much like WCW Nitro, it's filler galore. I'm surprised Hogan hasn't shown up(ala Foley) to pick up his paycheck. Thank god for Youtube as I can just skip over the crap and watch the segments/matches that might be worthwhile. And from the look of things, the same can be said about Wrestlemania I think you might have been lost in the shuffle for the nomination of Worst TSM Poster. Filler galore = AOK to me, since it's doing a damn good job building to Mania in the process.
