Guest HartFan86 Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Chris Benoit's first Smackdown apperance in what? Over a year. I do like the team of Eddy/Benoit...they should win the tag titles...
Guest HartFan86 Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 SD is over @ 1:19 AM. I think that's the latest I have ever seen it go since it started. Main event was excellent and I think the crowd was left in shock after Benoit made Rock tap. I liked how Hogan attacked Brock as well. All in all, excellent show. My hats off to the WWE.
Guest Hitman Jebus Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Also, this is probably just me, but I HATE the piped in "ooh! ooh!"'s for every Hogan shot. Those are not piped in...everybody knows to yell: 1- "YOU!" for his pointing at the opponent 2- "OOH!" his 3 punches (I guess the fans are doing it for every punch now...they like to take things too far...remember "WHAT?" for every punch and stomp?) 3- Cheer for legdrop to finish Simple formula - it's like "wooing" for KNIFE-EDGE~! CHOPS
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Who's the guy sitting to the right of Hardcore Holly? Mike Awesome (if you haven't figured it out yet) And why is everybody bitching about Angle losing to Hogan? The winner of the match is facing Brock next week. You'd rather have Angle jobbing to Brock? *That* would get some of you all worked up. I liked Brock's backstage stuff w/ Angle & Hogan. Good to see they're trying to add to his character so he's not just "grunt, grunt, ::squash opponent::" I like Steph better in the business outfits. And Jamie (K)Noble rules all.
Guest The Superstar Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Yeah, his huffing and puffing promos were EXCELLENT! Especially after a 2 minute match with Mark Henry!
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 It's a start. I didn't say "OMG! Ric Flair in his prime has nothing on Lesnar!!!!1!11" The WWE can see Brock isn't over, so they're mixing things up a bit by letting him do some talking. Talking trash to Hogan & Angle worked for me. That's all I'm saying.
Guest Goodear Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Well SK gave the Angle-Hogan match ** which is like *1/4 better than KOTR. And he gives the awesome main event ****. Boy, Keith will give any match Benoit is in the four snowflakes won't he? Benoit and Eddie's offensive segments were just dull with way too many kicks and forearms and just the odd suplex thrown in for good measure. The only really good moments were Eddie's slingshot senton (that actually made contact for once) and the crossface. Other than that, it was enjoyable but not great.
Guest Brian Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 I liked the brawling. I especially don't mind it if you can throw a good punch and make solid contact. There was solid psychology working over Edge's back and the match had a great pace and build. It was very southern-esque tag style match. Not four stars, but this was basically the infamous tag with better work, less time, less drama, and less sheer markout value. I don't understand the complaints with Rey's selling. It was very NJ-esque in that when he'd gain momentum he'd run with it but it'd slow him down. I admit he came up quick from the dropkick, but he clutched the back and paused on the apron. Moderate selling is better than none.
Guest Hitman Jebus Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Yeah, his huffing and puffing promos were EXCELLENT! Especially after a 2 minute match with Mark Henry! This is gonna sound childish but...why don't YOU have a 2 minute match with Mark Henry and see how you feel after? Lifting the 400-pound Fat Henry for a suplex and F5...even with a physique like Lesnar has, I'm surprised he didn't pull a muscle and collapse right there! As far as I'm concerned, any wrestler can huff and puff all he wants to after a match...
Guest Shaved Bear Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 this SD! had two killer matches... Rey/Tajiri and the Main if they can only get RVD involved with SD! now
Guest evenflowDDT Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 Who's the guy sitting to the right of Hardcore Holly? Mike Awesome (if you haven't figured it out yet) Oh... thanks dude, I just didn't recognize him. Then again, he's only been back for a week...
Guest evenflowDDT Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 Also, this is probably just me, but I HATE the piped in "ooh! ooh!"'s for every Hogan shot. CHOPS I don't doubt that there are some people who do that, but on live PPV's and when Hogan made his scant few RAW appearances there were either none or none anywhere near as loud. That's what I mean by "piped in", not necessarily that there weren't any at all, but that what was there was grossly amplified.
Guest lomasmoney Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 Am i the only one who noticed the golden facial expressions that brock had when he was watching the rock tap. I mean he had the goofiest looks on his face. Does anyone think that a Jim the Anvil Neidhart goatee would rule ass on Brock. The pure evilness of the beard would have Brock drawing heat like a furnace
