Guest pochorenella Report post Posted October 11, 2002 I saw some lucha, and at the end of one fall, one of the luchas had his oponent prone. He then put his opponents' arms under and between his legs, effectively tying the opponent up into a proverbial pretzel. He then turned him over and let go, and the opponent was stuck. The ref then rang the bell declaring a submission I guess. That sequence kicks ass, I wish someone like Molly does it in the States. What is that mother of tie-ups called? Isn't that Mr. Niebla's finishing move? I think I saw him use that when he beat Shocker in a mask vs. mask match a few years back (maybe razazteca knows this, since he's a big Shocker fan.) Guest eiker_ir Report post Posted October 11, 2002 stupid question, is there any difference between a 'scoop slam' and a 'body slam'?
Guest pochorenella Report post Posted October 12, 2002 I have a few questions, but please try to give a detailed answer if possible, not just "this is a reverse/modified whatever" or "a hybrid of this and that". Also, alternate names if available, please. Ok, then, what are the following: Burning Hammer Complete Shot Iconoclasm Gokuraku Thanks in advance.
Guest JHawk Report post Posted October 12, 2002 stupid question, is there any difference between a 'scoop slam' and a 'body slam'? Not that I can figure out.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted October 12, 2002 ooo! I know these. Burning Hammer - This is an inverted DVD. Meaning, you pick them up with their back across your shoulders, like a torture rack. Then you drop them on their fuckin head. I'm not sure about Complete Shot, but I'm told it's like a lifting Flatliner. (inverted Russian leg sweep) I'll leave that one for Dace though. Iconoclasm - CIMA's....well, I don't know what the hell he calls it, but it's his move, anyway. The setup's like this: the opponent is sitting on the turnbuckle, facing foward. You turn your back to the corner, reach up and grab your opponent's arms (left hand on left arm, right hand on right). Then you pull the guy over your shoulders and off the turnbuckle. He does a full flip over you and lands flat on his back on the mat, very hard. (*psst* he jumps a little to help ). Fun variations include jumping while pulling him over, sitting yourself on the 2nd turnbuckle before pulling him over, and crossing the arms before pulling him over. If you kick ass, like CIMA does, you can do all 3 at once. Gokuraku - no fucking clue. PS- Dace, I think we're reeeeally gonna need a clip for the Iconoclasm
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted October 12, 2002 stupid question, is there any difference between a 'scoop slam' and a 'body slam'? Same move, different fed or eras. Burning Hammer - Avalanche Torture Rack to Sheer Drop Inverted DVD. (It must have the set up or it's not a Burning Hammer) So the opp is siting on the top, facing out, they get racked down acrosses thr attackers back and dropped on their head. Complete Shot - Reverse Rock Bottom/Downward Sparil/Flatliner withough the leg sweep. Hook for Rock Bottom, fall back. Iconoclasm - Inverted Crucifix Somersault Slam. Opp on top, facing in, hooks arms, so they are stretched out, flip the over, landing flat on their back between your legs as you sit out. There's a crossed armed version the Grynoconlasm (The Flipping Slam in No Mercy) Gokuraku - Cross Armed Choke. What Benoit did to Angle at Unforgiven, grab opps. arms arnd cross them round opps. throat to choke them, normally done in a Camel Clutch.
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted October 14, 2002 Someone asked ages ago what a Visual Driver was: It's list as a High Angle Impant DDT Making it a Sheer Drop DDT (not brainbuster)
Guest pochorenella Report post Posted October 14, 2002 Thanks, guys. And does anyone know if my move description was accurate (the one about Mr. Niebla's tie up move?)
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted October 14, 2002 I've talked to some Lucha fans, they say it sounds right. We're here to help on the moves, it's no problem. Any other questions?

Guest deadbeater Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Hey, that was MY original question. Thanks anyway. Now ask me this, that's up with the ballsac kicks and the mask ripping lately in the lucha matches? If they were women, they would be called catfights. Hell, I call them catfigts now. Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Gokuraku - Is this also known as the Nirvana Strangle when used by Jinsai Sasakie (I know I butchered his name - Hakushi)?
Guest Ace309 Report post Posted October 16, 2002 I believe it is, Metal Maniac. Hurricane Helms also does a fun gokuraku sequence where he applies it to a standing opponent and sits out into a mat slam, then follows through into a gokuraku camel clutch. I always thought that was nifty.
Guest Ace309 Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Oh, and Jinsei Shinzaki.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted October 16, 2002 with the ballsac kicks and the mask ripping lately in the lucha matches? well the ballsac kick is a traditional DQ finish, gotta to love the over sell by the Technicos. Cheat to Win~ Mask ripping is also a traditional Rudo move, Black Tiger has been doing it alot whenever he fights Black Warrior. Eddy did it to Rey on the smarks favorite lucha match from WCW. they rarely use chair shots or forgein objects to CHEAT 2 WIN~ so ballsac kicks and mask rips are accepted as bad guy idealogy wait til you see the Technicos fake these moves to win with overselling the kick and intentionally taking off their mask to win a Caida. EL DANDY~! 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Anybody pick up on what the Egoist Driver is? I'm guessing from my 2001 Toryumon that it's TOKYO's Cross-armed Sit-out Rock Bottom...
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Hey has anyone hit a Tiger Driver on their Knees instead of the Sitout pin move which maybe leads to a Locamotive Tiger Driver which ends with a Tiger Driver 91 perhaps?
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Hurricane Helms also does a fun gokuraku Inverted Face Slam, called the Cross Face Halo Egoist Driver I'm guessing is the Cross Arm Rock Bottom. He did ditch all the porn star names didnt he? Hey has anyone hit a Tiger Driver on their Knees instead of the Sitout pin move Yes, loads of people, Release Tiger Driver/Tiger Driver Whip. Malenko does it into the Clover Leaf. Jericho used it too (Eg WAR 95 Vs Ultimo). I've thought of but never seen the Rolling Tiger Drivers.

Guest razazteca Report post Posted October 17, 2002 Los Fabouslosos (El Dandy & Silver King) with Ms Handcock Stacy Los Guapos (Shocker & Mascara Magica) I saw a luchadore do a weird SCSA Stunner move: opponet is sitting on top rope, while the aggressor is standing then hits the Stunner. is there a name for this?
EL DANDY~! 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2002 That would be a Super Stunner. Only move I can think of. Razazteca, you should change your name to Silver King...we'd kick ass as Los Fabulousos. We could be CMLL TAG TEAM CHAMPEENS!!!
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted October 17, 2002 The BareBack would be a Seated Inverted Stunner, Seat Inverted Neckbreaker. Trouble is there's not distinction between how moves are inverted. Oh well.
