Anyway, few random thoughts:

...piss on UPN for scrapping season 7 reruns. Hopefully FX will get them sooner now.

One of the best of season 5. I've only seen half of season 5 episodes because I want to watch season 4 in full, but from what I have seen from season 5, I've liked all of the episodes. Especially "Fool for Love."

 

Finally we will have something to talk about, season 4 on DVD. Too bad I'm leaving on Friday for the summer so I won't be around the computer that much.

I have all the episodes on tape. So it's not like I need them on UPN. But it's nice to have the option of catching an episode here and there

So...I got my season 4 today...and like every set I quickly pulled out the "continue your collection" card to see how long I would have to wait for season 5.

 

Now the pattern had been

 

Season 1: January

Season 2: June

Season 3: January

Season 4: June

 

Much to my surprise the card tells me that Buffy season 5 will be arriving in 2003...not 2004!

 

Is the retarded release plan finally crumbling? Will I have Buffy season 5 BEFORE Christmas instead of AFTER New Years?

Season 4 DVDs are great as far as I can see. The menus are quick and sharp, and the video quality looks even better than season 3. I'm also really excited about watching Season 4 in sequence again; it has a weak overall arc, but it's incredibly fun and incredibly wide-open. I just watched The Freshman (probably the best season opener, by the by), and after rewatching a couple season 2 and 3 episodes this weekend, the staggering sprawl the show assumes is all the more overwhelming.

 

I have a feeling that once I've gone through season 4 again, more seasoned Buffy viewer that I am, I'm going to hold it in higher esteem than previous.

 

Also, if you don't have all four seasons on DVD, now's the time to do it. Best Buy's offering a deal where you get $15 off if you buy one other set with 4, $30 if you buy 2, and $50 if you buy all four sets at once. With the sale prices they have this week to boot, you could conceivably get all four seasons for about $130. I don't think you'll find a much better deal than that.

I didn't think Season 4's arc was that bad. The Initiative storyline was sparked off right from the beginning and that's really the underlying story throughout the season.

Well, I picked up my Season 4 from the Post Office and I watched that and City Of from Angel. Brought back some good old memories.

 

Anyone notice Xander tell Buffy "can you say that Once More with a little Less Feeling?" I just found that funny.

 

And the phone call thing was cool too...I'm so glad that I bought Angel at the same time.

UPN is such a shit network to begin with. I'm glad they got Buffy cause I don't have WB, but they suck otherwise.

I'd still call them the 'black' channel. Buffy didn't fit on the network very well, but atleast Buffy wasn't a 'WB' show. One of my friends said that if a show is on WB, than it must suck. Which is mainly true, except for Smallville.

But with the audiance they were going after I wonder why they even got Buffy in the first place. Maybe they're going the other way now that Abby finished dead friggin last in ratings for prime time shows on a major network this year...after all, The Mullets are coming to UPN, and that just looks like it can't suck [/sarcasm]

Mole...Jonathan and even Warren should be off the Big Bad list, cause when it came down to it in the end they were hardly big and or bad...should both be replaced by Evil Willow and Caleb

I don't know really see Evil Willow and Caleb as the 'big bads.' Willow was just the season finale villian and Caleb was a filler villian for 5 episodes.

 

Warren, Johnathan, and Andrew were the 'big bads' of season 6, in my opinion. They were the ones who were around for most of the season, causing Buffy the most trouble, and Warren was the one who made Evil Willow bad in the first place.

Evil Willow and Caleb at least lasted as main bad guys in the last episode of their seasons.

None of those people were the big bad in season 6.

 

The big bad in season 6 was each person's self.

 

Buffy dealing with coming back.

 

Xander dealing with the fear of becoming his father.

 

Willow and her magic.

 

It costs them nearly everything when they can't deal with it.
