I started my column for season 3, and it is long. I went on a rant about "The Wish" because it is my favorite episode of Buffy.

 

If anyone wants to read it and tell me what they think. I am not sure if it is what bps wants, so if someone could do me a favor and read it, I would appreciate it. That way I could re-write it and do something that is better.

I ordered season 7 DVD on Ebay yesterday, has anyone done something like that before?

Never ordered a Buffy season in particular, but I and a few friends have ordered a few "DVDs" on EBay.

 

You got one of two things. The first is a bootleg VCD set, which, no matter what anyone tells you, isn't even going to be as good as VHS you might have taped right off TV. You might have decent audio, but you're essentially just getting those 450 meg MPEG versions of the episodes you can download on Kazaa or wherever, except they're on CD-Rs and probably have something printed on them. They're okay for watching on a computer--basically the same quality as if you downloaded them--but will probably look pretty poor blown up to a TV screen.

 

The other might be a DVD-R, which'll be something that's basically homemade, where someone either took those same MPEG videos or the episodes they taped off UPN and put them onto a rewriteable DVD. If this is the case, hopefully you have a newer player that can play DVD-R.

 

If you didn't pay much for it, then it's a cheap, low-to-okay quality collection, most likely. But considering that we probably won't see the official region-1 season 7 DVD until January of 2005, it might not be a bad deal. You should definitely let us know how the quality is when you do get 'em, though.
