bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2003 The problem with having Benoit and Angle again at No Way out is the fact that you got the same situation you had with Brock/RVD at Vengeance (or even Foley/HHH at no way out 2000), where Angle is going on to the big one next month so he has to win and be kept strong, and you don't want to weaken Benoit (especially now) by having him go in AGAIN and lose again. I would go with Team Angle v Benoit, Brock and Edge (or even minus Edge, 2 on 3) or even (don't kill me) Benoit v Edge in a face v face showdown. You could sell it as something like rock v austin (obviously it wont be as big, but bigness depends all on how its presented int he wrestling world. If Tazz/Cole and everybody on the SD show sell it as something huge, it will be). I can't really think of who else is high enough for Benoit to feud with over the next month/two months and not seem like a bring-down after Rumble. Someone had a good idea of putting the red-hot Benoit over to Raw to feud with Triple-Juice and the newly formed Triple-JuiceMan. It would only make Angle seem that much more unstoppable before Mania when Brock obviously will overcome all odds and triumph to win the title... but I think if they just keep the threesome of Brock, Angle, Benoit going they can do matches based around the title for the next few months...maybe giving Benoit reign of two months or more so that he can finally have his big title... the fans WANTED that so bad at the Rumble...and sooner or later the WWE will deliver it Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

What would happen is that you could have singles matches at the PPV and then the big tag match at WM. Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted January 21, 2003 Benjamin and Haas are really getting some exposure , just for being associated with Angle. This stable has been excellent for their careers. The six man sounds good, but it would take away from the "first ever lockup" of Angle and Brock. I think having them in any sort of match together right now takes away from the 'Mania main event. The fact that that match will be the first one on one meeting between the two and will likely headline this huge show, I don't think they should be allowed in there together. Yet, come Raw, you can bet your silver dollar that Austin will be there. I mean, I really would rather have Austin at Raw right now, then Smackdown. Edit: Since this is a thread more about Angle/Benoit, I think that I can find a match to tide Benoit at Wrestlemania. Taker vs Benoit. Ack! Don't kill me! Taker is perfect at Wrestlemania, right? Have Benoit be the only person to beat him. That'd keep Benoit in the Main Event level for sure... Won't happen, but nice thought. Still doesn't help at NWO, but gives him something to do at WM. The absolute LAST thing that needs to happen with Benoit is a move to Raw. His heat right now is with his feud with Angle. There needs to be resolution to that before any shuffling happens. Besides if he was moved, then what? A loss to HHH at no way out, Mini feud with Jericho, feud with the new HHHossmen? Ugh. Keep the good workers on Smackdown. I do know that their is a problem, Having this means Brock-Angle would have to showdown, if they want, Brock can be written aside and have him face undertaker in a quickie respect thing just to keep Angle-Brock at bay. That way, Beniot can go over (not Angle mind you, but Show or haas) and get more heat. Angle-Brock is locked. Might as well go with a 4 Way Tag DANCE with Beniot/Edge Vs Eddy/Chavo Vs Team Angle Vs Cena/Dogg Undertaker Vs The Big Show Matt Vs Mysterio CW Title. There is YOUR Smackdown WM card. I actually like the idea of Taker- Angle if Angle goes over clean to further build him up and to get whatever they can out of Taker then have Brock vs Benoit for Brock's title shot with the idea that Benoit came so close If you have Benoit- Angle II, while a great match..Benoit has to lose twice to the same guy now while the WM main event dictates that Benoit must lose to Brock, at least its someone different to look good against and still get a rub by making Benoit the person who came closest to (cleanly) beating Brock yet, setting up title defenses against him after Brock wins at WM. i see them saving (if you can call it that) Show- Taker for WM Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Be it the 3 on 3 previously mentioned, or a 4 on 4, (however, I would make the teams Rey, Edge, Benoit, Brock vs. Team Angle and an returning heel ROCK, you have Rock vs. Brock heat, Benoit vs. angle heat, team angle vs. rey/edge heat etc.) and I would want it to go LOOOOOOOOOONG. Using up 8 stellar workers mean that it has to go the distance. But I would also include a CW match, and matt hardy match, maybe matt and shannon vs. Show and A-Train, with antics involved. It writes itself Please don't ask me to book RAW in regards to No Way Out tho, I don't care anymore. BTW Brian, I would have the rock turn heel on SD! before the PPV. I think it's past time for that to happen, and Vince supposedly cares about NY crowds' opinions.
