Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 This angle sucks from the start. The only room it has to move is that he gets more people behind him, other then that he's just going to cut the exact same promo every week. And all it's going to take is some redneck fan on tv to do something stupid or put up a bad sign to really hurt matters. Sorry, but this angle has been done before and done better before.
Guest treble charged Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 If he was white, you'd like his gimmick.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Any idea where Teddy Long has been and how he lost so much weight?
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Any idea where Teddy Long has been and how he lost so much weight? Teddy almost looks cool now.
Guest Downhome Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 The ONLY reason I like this angle, is simply because Teddy Long is back on my TV in a role where he belongs, I LOVE seeing the old school type managers come back. He was one of my favorite managers years ago, if you remember that. The man won manager of the year damnit!
B. Brian Brunzell Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 **runs into thread** PEA-NUT-HEAD! PEA-NUT-HEAD!! **hopes others join in** **runs away**
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Any idea where Teddy Long has been and how he lost so much weight? Teddy almost looks cool now. He almost looks like he was sick, but he seemed to move around and talk ok so hopefully he just lost weight to get in shape.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Haha, I wasn't feeling this angle that much with just D-lo cause he just didn't seem to have that passion ya know? But when Teddy cut that promo on Raw, I stood up and put my fist straight in the air. Just as long as WWE don't try something stupid and let Booker get anywhere near it....it'll kill his heat completely.
Guest Frankie Williams Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I think Coach should join this little group.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I think Coach should join this little group. NO.
Guest DerangedHermit Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Frankie: Coach is THISCLOSE to being a white boy. That would be the only rational explanation for the way he acts. And as I said before, AH-med Johnson needs to join the group so they can call themselves Long Brown Johnson.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 **runs into thread** PEA-NUT-HEAD! PEA-NUT-HEAD!! **hopes others join in** **runs away** Haha that makes me feel like I'm at an NWA event in 1990, watching Long manage Doom against the Rock N Roll Express I wonder if they will reunite Long and Ron Simmons.
Guest Ram Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Teddy's been a referee for the WWE for years now. He lost the weight a little after his release from WCW.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 And as I said before, AH-med Johnson needs to join the group so they can call themselves Long Brown Johnson. Hahahahahaha!!! I still remember a classic JR line from 1996 about Farooq and Ahmed: "He's handling the big Johnson"
Mecha Mummy Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I think Coach should join this little group. NO. That had me laughing for two minutes.
Guest nikowwf Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 D-Lo's angle can't possibly draw, its boring as hell and it has potential to draw fire from some people for its racist undertones. not a good idea niko
Mecha Mummy Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 It was all right until they had D'Lo come out in Fubu crap. At that point nobody could take it seriously anymore. I don't know if even Teddy Long can save it now.
LooseCannon25 Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Anybody else get a feeling we're gonna see Faarooq, Mark Henry, Godfather, and Ahmed Johnson join D-Lo and Teddy and form the Nation of Dark Temptations with JR shilling like he never saw anything like it "Good Gawd almiiiiiighty.....This is the first time in my 25 plus years in the business i've ever seen anything like this"
Guest Frankie Williams Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 There should be a "sarcasm" feature on this forum. I really didnt think that anyone would think that I was serious about Coach. I just thought it was a funny thought.
Guest The Superstar Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 And as I said before, AH-med Johnson needs to join the group so they can call themselves Long Brown Johnson. Best. Idea. This Month.
Guest dreamer420 Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 The angle is not going to fly, simply because the fans don't want to see it and D'Lo has been so stale since 99 anyway. The angle is just a Truth ripoff except D'Lo sucks and The Truth can at least work.
Yuna_Firerose Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Frankie: Coach is THISCLOSE to being a white boy. Unfortunately, so is D'Lo.
Guest Samurai_Goat Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 I think I'd be more for this whole thing if they brought a bit of origonality into it. I mean, "Free at last, free at last, free to cane a white boys ass"? Jeez, that had the poets of America united as one to praise his pure poetic...stuff. Or not. But really, this needs some background work, and some origonality. Of course, if they had any origonality, they wouldn't have stuck him in that role at all.
LooseCannon25 Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 D-Lo is staaaaaaale.....he's done this already! IS that all they could come up with him.....a racist gimmick just because he's black. Anybody notice that if you're black and in the WWE your quota is to be in a t least one racism or stereotypical gimmick. D-Lo, Godfather and Kama, Mark Henry, The Rock, Faarooq, Ahmed Johnson, D-Von Dudley, K-Kwik...the list goes on and on
Guest Choken One Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 It would help if D'lo was black...Hell, I AM BLACKER then D'lo.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 "Free at last, free at last, free to cane a white boys ass" Tell me this was not said on Monday's RAW. PLEASE.
Yuna_Firerose Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Okay, Mulatto, we won't tell you that he said those EXACT words on Raw.
LooseCannon25 Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Its funny how D-Lo came out in thug wear for a few weeks......are we dumb folk supposed to figure out by that that he is now a black man?
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Wow, I knew this angle would suck but I didn't think that they'd bring shitty poetry into it.
Yuna_Firerose Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Remember who the company is. 'Nuff said.
