Fabolous To Appear WrestleMania XIX

Recommended Posts

AS:  YOU don't like rap.  To YOU Fabolous is a no-name hack.

I HATE HATE HATE Eminem.

But I've heard of him.

If Fabolous is such a megastar, why have so few of us heard of him?

Especially since you defend having the Cat Fight girls on a show where you also say you'd rather see wrestlers.

I did no such thing. I said the catfight is better than this.

Because This little "comminuty" is about .000000011 of the country. Most people here are not Rap Fans, Which Is Fine. I like all music. Fabolous is a very popular name across the Teenage Middle Class.

AS, I know you like the concept of A catfight since it's the closest you ever come to seeing two girls together but it serves no purpose. The Rap Battle does...

Hate to tell you AS, You are the Minority here.

First off Fab is a pretty good rapper and some of his early mix tape shit is good. But even his current mainstream rap is enough to beat Cena. Maybe if the WWE writes some perfect rhymes for Cena or it was rigged(DUH!), then Cena stands a chance.

For all those saying Fabulous has no star power...hmm last year Saliva had star power...or Drowning Pool. Hate to burst your bubble but more people know Fabulous than either of those two so I'm they'll know who he is.

Plus he comes in and gets John Cena heat and gets him more over. Miller Lite girls come in, tease t&a, leave.

Yah they're much more welcoem at a Wrestlemania.

This is breaking down into a matter of taste...when the overall point here is...why is this even an issue on any wrestling show...to say nothing about WrestleMania?

ooh.

No, it doesn't. None of this stuff does.

The Rap Battle does...

Yes, see Cena lose some battle to a C level celebrity. Whoo.

Unfortunately, not many rappers are on the same level as fucking EMINEM status-wise, love him or hate him. They don't have the fortune of being white AND immensely skilled, to boot. But what are the chances of WWE securing a name that big? Nil, I'd say. No one said Fab was a MEGA-star but just because people in your trailer don't talk about him doesn't mean that he's a C-level celeb or that he doens't have an immense fanbase (large enough for WWE to contact him and want to do business). He didn't get a Reebok endorsement deal by selling tapes out of his trunk.

For you to complain about non-wrestlers being on the Mania card is flat-out retarded. Mania has nearly ALWAYS been about surprises, entertainment and celebrities (big and small) as well as wrestling. No one in MY house had Cyndi Lauper's new album when she was a big part of Mania but she was still there. Same deal with Fabolous here. For you to complain about one non-wrestler (Fabolous) and not another (the catfight girls) just shows where your biases really lie. Where were all the detractors when Motorhead played? Or worse yet, Connecticut Yankee???

Actually, like it or not it's a good business move on WWE's part. If they can capitalize in any way on that sort of fanbase then good for them. And it gives Cena's gimmick way more validity and credibility having him go up against an actual rapper rather than Fred Durst. I don't care what you people think, but Durst is NOT a rapper. Fortunately, none of you run WWE or Lynard Skynard and the like would be playing the show and everyone would be as happy as pigs in shit waving their Confederate flags as high as they could while they kiss their sister and cheer on that Noble fella.

Why do people keep pretending that Anglesault is supporting the cat fight girls?

For fucks sake can no one read?

The first thing he did was blast the WWE for employing the whores, Limp Bizkit and this guywhile WRESTLERS aren't WRESTLING in their place.

Then he said he hates the rap battle more than the cat fight...and suddenly he's president of the Miller Light girls fan club.

It's really hard to respect people's opinions when they can't even fucking read.

Holy shit that was fucknig funny.

But I for one would prefer the rap battle to seeing Limp Bizkit perform or the Miller Lite girls.

Because, DUH! Yeah, that's it.

I think he's just a US thing, like the catfight girls (although catfights= ratings worldwide). At least Bizkit, for all their faults, are world famous.

I'm pretty up on my music (including rap) and i've never heard of the guy.

Damn, i feel old :(

Obviously you're not pretty up on things if you haven't heard of him. His song "You Can't Deny It" was pretty much the only thing played last summer in terms of rap that I can remember.

I didn't know who Motorhead was and I thought they were very boring and unentertaining but I didn't come on here blasting them.

It'd be a bit fun to have a Durst-Cena rap battle and have Cena going over Durst. It would kill two birds with one stone right there.

It's really hard to respect people's opinions when they can't even fucking read.

I can't speak for everyone else but I started in on the Catfight girls because AS said that they at least served a purpose on the show (to fight) and that the rap battle served none. Just shows me that AS was blinding himself to the obvious in favor of something he personally supports.

And God knows he NEVER does that.

Get someone that everyone knows or don't get anyone at all.

That's impossible seeing as how there's no one out there who listens to EVERYTHING. And not every celebrity is gonna drop everything they're doing on the weekend for VINCE and fly to some wrestling event. If Vince had to get someone EVERYONE knows, he'd never have celebrities. You may think that Motorhead and Cyndi Lauper are these huge stars in the ghetto, but I can assure you they are not and those people watch wrestling, too. Vince knows this, which is why Fabolous is part of the show now.

And just so you know, I don't think everyone knew the "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor" guys or Saliva, either. I had never heard of Motorhead and I don't think anyone outside of WWE even gives a shit about FOZZY or Conecticut Yankee.

And I apologize for saying "in the trailer." I should have said your "neck of the woods." But just because rap isn't big in your cirlce doesn't mean it and its participants aren't big anywhere. There's a whole wide world outside of French Lick, Indiana, AS and people in it do listen to rap and wear more than denim jackets with rock band patches all over them.

I don't understand what Motorhead's appearance has to do with this though. Motorhead played HHH down to the ring. This did not take time out of the PPV because if I know my wrestling HHH would have had to walk to the ring to some music anyway.

As for the Drowning Pool and Saliva appearances I don't recall people around here being thrilled with the fact they were paying good money for a fucking concert. So there is no bias there.

Yes, they serve more of a purpose on a wrestling show having a" match" than some guy that, as several of you have admitted, is not in the main stream and may not be recognized by everyone, make a personal appearence. I don't want either to be there. But at least it will be two minutes of "fun" in the ring as opposed to ten minutes of talking

This is a little late coming, but I too have never heard of this "Fabolous" guy.

Just... thought you'd all like to know...

Not listen. Knows. Not everyone listens to Eminem. Everyone knows who he is and have formed an opinion on him one way or the other.

Motorhead played someone to the ring. The music was going to be there anyway. It took nothing away from the show.

And I wanted those other bands?

As a wrestling fan, how can you bash "talking"? That's all they ever fucking do. And rap is more than 'just talking.' I don't think it'll be as long as ten minutes and it can't be any worse than a HHH promo, that are 20 minutes of NOTHING.

At least this is an honest ATTEMPT at getting another wrestler over.

Listen or knows, it makes no difference. I hadn't heard of OR listened to most of the white acts that WWE has secured over the years. But I'm not gonna come here and bash them and say they have no place on the show. I'll wait and see how the angle pans out, since ideally that's what the thread should be about, not people's personal assessment of a genre of music.

If this was Raw or SD where the 10 minute promo is the norm then I would not have that much of a problem with this, but if I am paying 40 bucks for a PPV I don't want promos/talking/concerts, I want them in the god damn ring wrestling.

No one's forcing you to buy it. You already know what you're expecting when you order the show.

Then I take it you've never ordered a WrestleMania before.

I think some of you are missing the point here. Ok, so the Cat Fight girls will serve some "fun" for all of the losers who can't get any closer to a woman, but c'mon, are all of you really still entertained by this? Sure I'll watch a commercial with them in it, but I don't want them on my wrestling show because it serves about as much of a purpose as a bra and panties match.

And once again, Fabolous' appearance serves a purpose. Are you all overlooking at why he's there? Cena's supposedly getting a big push after Mania and WWE as well as many of the people on the board seem to be VERY high on him. Now we all know that he's got a hip-hop gimmick that they're trying to get over and it's going fairly well. So if they're trying to elevate him with the hip-hop gimmick, please tell me how him dueling with a REAL hip-hop artist at the biggest wrestling show of the year serve no purpose? I don't see why some of you continue to insist that this thing serves no purpose.

ON A PPV?

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

One that RVD isn't on so this shit and Limp Bizkit and the Whores can go on?

I don't think it'll be as long as ten minutes

It will easily hit seven or eight, and ten is probable.

At least this is an ATTEMPT at getting another wrestler over.

No one said it was a GOOD attempt. What in WWE has been lately? But it's more sincere than a HHH promo. And again, you're selling the guy short to think that only a fraction of the audience is going to know him. Not everyone in the world is as close-minded as you or the rest of TSM.
