LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2003 When i think about it there are a few guys who I can point out who were heavily hyped while they were down in OVW, but when they came up to WWE they have not been very impressive. Here are some examples: 1) Batista ---- All I heard about this guy as Leviathon was how good and impressive he was and his great look. Now i'll agree the guy has a very good look, but all I ever see from him is a spinebuster and clothesline. He also seems to be lost in the ring most of the time. Maybe it's just that he's too green but im not impressed so far. 2) Rodney Mack ---- I heard good things about Redd Dogg from OVW, but have seen nothing impressive from him yet. A very basic moveset with nothing to get excited about. 3) Randy Orton ---- They wer extremely high on him saying he's the future of the business but, in the ring he also hasn't shown me much at all. I do however, like his heel gimmick and think he's ok on the mic. He has the most chance to improve imo. Let's see how the French Connection does in the WWE when they enter, and John Cena for the most part has been pretty good. What do you guys think? All hype? or they just need time? Anyway, I think Rico totally kicks ass and has at least partly stood up to his hype. They turned him into a gay manager of gay tag teams but the guy is still a heat machine and has ok matches too. His problem is like was stated he got saddled with a gay gimmick, literally. And I downloaded the best match...Rico and Randy Orton beating Brock (without his huge back tattoo) and Ron Waterman. The Leviathan look was pretty sick, with the bald head, thin goatee, clear contacts, etc. With his head of hair, "fashinoable" goatee and designer clothes (Evolution era) he looks like someone you'd see club hopping in LA every Friday. Apparently when Mack was tagging with Shelton the team fared well, but probably due to Shelton doing most of the work making up for Mack's lack of charisma. Cena is awesome, and his character is gaining an incredible amount of momentum. This guy is going to be main eventing on a regular basis next year, and I for one can't wait. As for the OVW guys... yeah, they're pretty unimpressive at the moment, but I vote to give them some goddamn time. Randy Orton isn't that bad... I've seen some pretty good matches out of him. It depends on who they put him in there with. Is he Chris Benoit? Fuck no. And I find it kind of funny that if someone isn't automatically as good as God himself, then people bitch about it. Cena's character is perfect seeing as he can actually freestyle, and he's a pretty decent wrestler. Team Angle are doing good and developing well. Rico owns, but there ya go...he's been booked badly recently. Orton's ok. Batista...I don't mind him that much, but he hasn't been impressive. I Back the Mack. 3MW aren't anything special. Hell Rosey sucks. He's one of the few wrestlers I truly hate. O'Haire came up from OVW. But then, so did Big Show, Henry and Bradshaw. But the best so far from OVW so far is probably Victoria. They gave her a good character, good storyline, a better than usual for women storyline. And she's got a lot of talent. And is hot. What more can you ask? The only ones spreading these rumors are OVW marks, it's the samething when people report live from a house show who's got the biggest pop, and eventually they will put one of their favorite wrestler by putting him in the #1 spot.
