Boycott Judgment Day

Since J.D. looks like utter shit, I'm not ordering it nor should any of you. Why waste your money on a double crapper fest of Show vs. Lesnar and HHH vs. Nash?

Let's boycott this so-called PPV and send WWE a strong message. We will not order any shows until the product improves!!!!!

You know this really sucks. How sad is it we have to threaten to boycott our hobby?

I wish people would stop accepting crap and bad shows so that Vince would be FORCED to change.

In truth...this is the best way to send a message to the WWE.

However...if a ppv boycott were to spread it would probably cripple the company beyond repair.

The amount of money they would lose would be ridiculous and the guys who would get cut wouldn't be the ones we don't like anyway.

...

Let's do it.

This ppv buyrate should bite them in the ass anyway.

I can see some people ordering to see the ladder match...and some for the return of the IC title...

actually...it's funny that the gimmicks and title return happen to coincide with Big Show and Nash getting main event billing.

Very true but in situations like this things on a local scale aka this very folder need to be changed. So much shit that the WWE throws out is accepted throughout this folder as "good" or "awesome" that it's really sickening. BUT, we can't eliminate any of it because it's a forum, where everybody has their own opinion, even if it's fuckin' retarded.

Let's kill the apologists and those with low standards.

That's pretty tricky but I'm up to the task. I don't consider myself an elitist but the level of acceptance by this folder of the shit-slinging the WWE does to it's fans is beyond stupid. Most of the people justifying it are beyond stupid too but that's another thing entirely....

Im in too, as long as I can still participate in the gambling thread.

You know what.

I agree with Curry.

Why would one's standards be low? Were they not conditioned that way?

The split between those viewers who have grown out of buying what they are sold and the one's that have not make it impossible to please enough people to be a success without a major awakening like the Austin era.

What I don't like is that we're planning a boycott when ULTIMO DRAGON is supposed to show up...bleh...

I think Vince is using that as a lure to try and get some smarks to order JD just because of that...

10-1 odds says he doesn't appear on the PPV.

I credit this boards low-standards to most people being a fuckin' pussy and not just saying "Fuck you" to the WWE and leaving. Yes, we were never raised with a product that was putting on AJPW-quality matches on a nightly basis but you can only fault that so much until the fan is at blame. I just wonder what people see that's keeping them hanging onto false hope......

I'm in, but I don't order PPVs anyway...

Thanks to WWE, since they're 80 percent of what wrestling I have access to, I have gotten so cynical and apathetic towards wrestling that I could really see myself not watching wrestling soon, and then selling off my dvds on ebay when I need money for the PS3 or some shit like that.

I'm still watching right now, most of RAW and some of SD, but it's kinda like I'm still holding on. It's like all of the puss and overall crapiness of the product is acting like three stooges syndrome, where everything is trying to chase me away from watching, but it gets stuck inside of the doorway with every bad Kliq and hosscentric segment.

I realize I'm stealing from a Simpsons episode, but it's as if my addiction to wrestling is indestructable, when in reality it'll probably just take one little thing in life (job, new REWARDING and THOUGHT PROVOKING thing to do on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday nights) to take me away from wrestling, and it could very well take me away for good.

If we're going to really be boycotting WWE PPVs, we need a witty catchphrase. ;)

I know the feeling.

I used to kind of watch RAW. I knew it sucked but it was just like a habit to watch it. Then I started to have school on Monday nights and I started missing RAW all the time. Once you start it snowballs into complete apathy and you wonder why you didn't stop earlier.

Seems like we're all on the same track, just different places on it.

Doesn't Down Home still claim he will never get to our point?

I remember being just FURIOUS when I missed seeing WM X-7 on ppv live. I remember back when I would be hyped for every single ppv. I remember when I would be so upset if I had to just tape RAW instead of watching it live on Monday.

Yeah...sooner or later DH will be hit. It's bound to happen.

Guest RavishingRickRudo

I remember being pissed that I missed WM X...

... Yep.

Until fairly recently I always had a feeling of anticipation for RAW - I dunno why, I just did. It's like "2 more hours until RAW", "1 more hour", "15 more minutes", "5 more minutes". Now I still get that feeling, but it's more like an echo than anything else as I don't really want to watch RAW, there's no real reason for me to sit down anymore. A very hollow feeling. An echo best describes it.

Looking back, a few things did me in. 2 moments in particular...

1. The moment I realized that Vince McMahon did not care if I stopped watching. That one hurt, a lot.

2. The moment I realized that the WWE has been putting on the same show for the past 6 years.

RAW X was really the straw that broke the camels back in terms of a particular incident the WWE has done that led me to give it up. Like the Al Wilson deal, this didn't receive nearly the amount of criticism it should have had.

After the debacle called "Raw", this past Monday. I'm in. And depending how Smackdown goes, I might actually just start boycotting WWE altogether.

Then I'll go out of my way to find something else to replace my wrestling needs. Probably with TNA. I'm willing to pay for a converter (I'll have to figure out how I'll pay $200 for it [ie: I'm injuried and rarely working now]) and the money needed to order each PPV. That's how much I'm not taking crap from WWE.

YES, I'll admit that I enjoyed Nitro this past Monday. But even I know that enjoyment was probably just because of the opener, and it gleemed over to the rest of the show (which was utter crap now that I look back on it).

So as for the boycott, I'm in. Probably for good.

As for Downhome joining us, I don't think that'll happen till something really hits rock bottom.

And that'd be Vince getting his next title reign.

OMG yeah! I used to count down to RAW. I remember I was so excited I would have Walker Texas Ranger on. Ross would always come on a few minutes early and $hill the show before Walker ended. They had that promo with the crowd and what not about how your blood pumped.

Realizing Vince didn't care what I think does indeed hurt bad. What hurts me more is when people like Bradshaw tell me it's MY fault I don't like their show. How insulting!

I can't really think of a defining moment for when I realized it was all over. I didn't realize it at the time but I would say Crips being killed by Austin at Survivor Series 2000 is when WWE officially "jumped the shark". That was the first show Stephanie was head writer too....

Guest RavishingRickRudo

Fully Loaded 2000 is probably the most significant PPV in the past 4 years. They shouldn't have had Angle, Jericho, and Benoit all lose.

The ending of the HHH/Angle/Steph love triangle storyline hurt them bad. The simple fact that the HHH/Steph marriage was never ended by anyone other than HHH and Steph shows you where the power lies in the WWE.

Who hit Austin? and the subsequent HHH feud signified the official start of the WWE's absolute stupidity. They had a full year to develop Austins return, and the best they came up with was Rikishi with HHH being the mastermind??

The Austin Heel turn was when they jumped the shark, though. No doubt about it.

Guest Sakura

The Austin heel turn at least lead to some good matches and segments.

What did Crips being dropped by a crane lead to...?
