Who has been HHHeld down the worst?

Recommended Posts

Guest J-Rock

Let me get staight to the point. HHH is the most @&$#*%! mother*#@%&%! that can @!*%$! and suck my %#&@%!. Okay, now that that's off my chest, which WWE superstar has been HHHeld down the worst. You all saw what he did to Helms (aka the Hurricane) which was very uncalled for. The thing that really pissed me off was what happed to Booker T. In my opinion, Booker would make a great WWE champ. Anyway, what are your thoughts on WWE superstars being HHHeld down.

Argh. The Hurricane IS NOT being held down in any way, shape, or form. What occurred at the MOST is HHH used time that shouldn't have been his to get himself on TV. It's not as if Hurricane was dropped clean to the Pedigree for God's sake as he had already tapped clean to the Figure 4. HHH simply hit a Pedigree post-beating like a good heel, picking on some random person who couldn't defend himself. It's not as if Hurricane has any business looking strong compared to the current World Champion anyways, not that HHH is liked by me, but if Hurricane looked strong against ANY World Champ then whatever belt being defended would be devalued, and I don't care if it IS the Big Gold Belt or not. Hurricane just isn't at that level in his career, and he shouldn't be hotshotted there either.

Not to make this an actual good discussion or anything...

I could care less if HHH squashed the Hurricane because no one in their right mind buys Helms as a serious contender anyway.

I could say Jericho, but he had a title run at least. Booker can at least have his 5 WCW titles to fall back on. I'd say RVD has been the most screwed over, but since he damn near killed HHH at Survivor Series I can't say I really blame HHH if he held a grudge.

I would have to say either Chris Jericho or Kane.

Chris Jericho could have been cemented as a main event guy and a top heel in the company during his Undisputed Title reign if he was booked better AND didn't have to play fetch with Stephanie and Lucy. Not to mention, his proposed match with RVD at Royal Rumble '02, which would have tested the waters for RVD in a main event, went out the window on the night HHH came back.

Triple H made him seem like such a weak opponent and the Jericho vs. HHH was an afterthought as the focus was more HHH on Steph. Then, Jericho is put into a three way for said title against HHH and STEPH and isn't even the focus of THAT match.

Jericho then went on to lose at EVERY PPV until Unforgiven, where he was defending the IC Title...the same title that HHH had killed because he felt it was beneath him.

Kane...well, everyone knows about Katie Vick.

Triple H isnt holding down Hurricane......if anything all he did was steal some of Flair's spotlight on Sunday.

Can somebody find someone else besides HHH ot whine and bitch about. It's getting sickening already.

I'd have to go with Booker T being the most held down if that's an arguement that you want to bring up.

He was massive over and was primed to have a long needed face Champion run, and nada. Now where is he? Dropped back down the roster like RVD was after a semi-moderate push.

But, we got Jericho/Rock in return. Jericho/RVD should of been at NWO.

Oh, I didn't mind that at all. I'm just saying that RVD's first high profile feud was cut off the night HHH came back and it just happened to coincide with Jericho as well.

Jericho and RVD but those are so long ago that they got cut off that it's hard to remember.

Booker got jobbed for NO REASON just recently month...so I'll say him

"Faces don't make good transitional champions" -

HHH

And therefore we will run a racist angle where I tower over the inferior black man in the end.

HHH had too much help from Rock and Austin to count Jericho.

I say Kane. A month of those "the fire still burns" promos. Going over in the TLC. Winning the IC Title.....and then Katie Vick killed him.

Kane by a nose over Booker, for the above mentioned reasons... I still feel bad for the guy, because no one deserved THAT kind of burial... tag title runs notwithstanding thats one of the worst burials I have seen in recent memory.

I'd have to say Kane because he will never recover from Katie Vick, but HHH has put the most effort into burying Jericho, but he has the ability and charisma to constantly overcome it, Kane does not.

Kane, that Katie Vick fiasco just destroyed him, he still hasn't fully recovered from it.

Rock v. Jericho was planned BEFORE HHH came back.

Triple H coming back had NO bearing on the RR main event

my picks

Kane

RVD

Jericho

and Bubba

its one thing when we get the hint that someone isn't at World title level its another thing when the wrestler seemingly goes out of his way to discredit his opponents.. Like it is such a impossbility that Bubba or Kane or RVD or Jericho could ever beat HHH that there is no point in facing him. Almost as blantant as his Treatment of Booker T

Jericho. End of discussion.

Not to sound overly paranoid, but Jericho goes to Smackdown last year and gets buried by HHH at the May PPV in a HIAC match. Jericho comes to Raw in late June. Who follows him over? HHH.

Jericho has gotten one win that actually counted over HHH and that was on SD last year, by a fluke roll-up, holding the tights.

Maybe that stuff with them is in the past now, but as a Jericho fan, my stomach turns watching him working with HHH against Nash these last couple weeks. It is just...so...WRONG.

I find it hard to fathom how someone could say that Hurricane hasn't been held down with a straight face. How fucking obvious does it have to get before people get a clue?? The thing is, Hurricane being held down was merely a side effect--HHH was clearly trying to get one over on the Rock, not Hurricane. Hurricane was like an innocent bystander or something; just a pawn in HHH's warped political games. Why he considers one-upping the Rock such a big deal I have no idea.

The point is, his beating Hurricane (in what IMO was HHH's 2nd best match since his return over a year ago, next to the Shawn Michaels SummerSlam match) and subsequently pedigreeing Hurricane for no reason at all is holding him down (I didn't watch Raw, but a random Pedigree is a random Pedigree). Obviously, this isn't nearly as bad as other cases, because it hasn't been over a prolonged period of time--and most likely, Hurricane will be completely forgotten and HHH won't interact with him again. It still consititutes being held down, though.

Here's my list of how badly people have been held down (ignoring Hurricane, because those infractions have been minor in the grand scheme of things):

1) Test

2) Jericho

3) RVD

4) Kane

5) Booker

I put Test at #1, because IMO, he's the guy whose career was totally squashed by HHH. I mean, that was it. He never recovered. HHH has done more to hold Jericho and RVD down, but those two are also much harder to hold down, because they'll always be over no matter what. Test was just plain fucked over by HHH. Anybody that thinks Test will have any substantial success at this point is completely nuts, no matter what Linda McMahon says.

Jericho: Well, this is obvious. The sheer volume of stuff that HHH has done to him is mind-boggling. Jericho is like Ronald Reagan though--Mr. Teflon. Everything slides right off of him; his overness is invincible.

RVD: This was by far the most blatant example. I was in absolute awe that HHH had the balls to make it so obvious, week in and week out. I mean, the HBK special guest-ref match? Good lord, that was an abomination. RVD underwent the most intense burial to date, in the sense that it was a multitude of stuff all concentrated over the course of a few months.

Booker: He should recover, eventually...but then, that's what I thought with Kane. Anyway, this is a burial that shouldn't have happened, because he was scheduled to win the Mania match (though of course, there would have been shennanigans galore, and the win would've been far from clean). Book was buried, but since it wasn't as prolonged or overt as with Jericho or RVD, he ranks well below them on the burial scale.

Kane: I have the urge to put him higher, because like with Test, he's the guy that seems to have truly suffered from the burial. His career is now dead in the water. I just can't rank him higher though, because the burial only spanned about a month. Plus, Kane himself buried the entire midcard in the build-up to the HHH match. Also a lot of the "burial" was an offshoot of the Necrophilia thing, which presumably HHH didn't book. So I have to rank him below the others.

Honorable Mention: Bubba Ray Dudley

HHH buried him and good, however, this was mostly due to lack of fan interest. Bubba was protected more flagrantly than just about anybody I've seen this side of 1st half-2002 RVD. That all came to a screeching halt after his feud with HHH. That feud was actually booked extremely well and had a good long-term arc going...it's just that it was, well, Bubba fucking Dudley. Since fan disinterest is mostly to blame, it's tough to put a negative light on HHH because of this--though it's probably safe to assume Bubba would've been buried anyway eventually, if the feud had been allowed to progress. It's just a question of degree. However, since the burial wasn't due to politics, I can't rank it with the others. It was still a burial though, so I figured I'd mention it.

(Note: I'm ignoring random jobbers like Maven here, because not only are they beneath HHH's notice, they're beneath mine as well)

So what was the point of Cripps giving Hurricane the pedigree ? All it did was bury Hurrican even further after being made to submit by 54 year old man in street clothes.

And I just answered my own question.

Another thing I wanted to point out about why I nominate Jericho for this dubious honor is that there is something personal with that burial, and I don't understand what it is...

Most of the other cases have just been about HHH protecting his spot, but in the case of Jericho, there have just been pointless things done that seem to serve no purpose, but to make Jericho look bad at the expense of HHH.

A burial with no other purpose but to, ya know... bury someone. Poor Jerky.
