Guest Army Eye Report post Posted May 17, 2003 (edited) Ok, it's taken me this long to realise why anyone should vote for the guys on -. The way the rules are worded, you bet 150 on Triple H and you get 100 back..so if you vote for him, and he wins, you lose. But I've figured out you get the original bet back too...or something. Yes, it's a percentage, I believe. THe first guy has it right pretty much. We'll make this more clear in the rules next time. You get back your original bet as well as the winnings. The other way to look at it is, you don't 'pay' your bet at all unless you lose.. you call your bookmaker and just tell them your bet.. you don't actually pay the money unless you lose. If you have $1,000 in your bankroll, and you bet all of it on Brock and he wins (not that you can do that), you will have $1,200 and some change when you're done Edited May 18, 2003 by Army Eye

Guest bravesfan Report post Posted May 17, 2003 Damn, the line on Brock/TBS is HORRIBLE. And to be honest, I don't think there's a doubt about HHH winning, especially considering RAW last Monday, and the matches they've been working on the house show circuit. Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted May 18, 2003 Rhyno, Chris Benoit, and Brian "Spanky" Kendrick vs. John Cena, Chuck Palumbo, and Johnny Stamboli - $200 Team Spanky Question : what if they make a switch during the PPV, putting Benoit w/ Eddy, and Taker in Benoit's place here? Would people betting on Team Cena lose money if they lost? I would think that would be unfair to people who bet on Team Cena (like myself) assuming that the teams would stay as promoted and seeing how it would be doubtful that Taker's team would job in Taker's return. I would suggest letting people win the bet if they bet on Team Rhyno, but it would be a push for those betting on Team Cena.

Probably all bets would be paid pack.
Ultimo Dugas 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2003 If you want to change if before the PPV go ahead. But considering there's fair knowledge that some teamates could be changed then thats the risk you're taking. If its a situation where replacement partners are picked that didn't seem likely then perhaps I would allow the bet to be negated.

None of the major sites have reported about any possible switches (have they? I haven't seen any notes), so you could argue any switches (in this caes) would be a surprise. I only bet $50, so it's not too big of a deal. You might want to include a disclaimer in the rules for the next PPV, though.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2003 hmmm, sounds interesting... Just to say, I've been in Germany for the last 2 weeks, so i'm not gonna take part.
Ultimo Dugas 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2003 It is kind of a gray area Spiff. But since we were right, and there was a replacement (Tajiri), then the bets will still be counted. Now to see the spreadsheet in action...
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted May 19, 2003 You know, I wasn't even worried about the Tag Title match. I was more concerned w/ the 6-man tag match.

Guest Space_Cowboy Report post Posted May 19, 2003 Well, i sure fucked myself in the ass by putting $1000 on Team Angle, looks like my time near the top will be over for sure.
Guest creativename Report post Posted May 19, 2003 I didn't participate in this one, or the last one, out of sheer disinterest. I haven't really watch programming for a while. Can I still make bets in the future, with my existing winnings intact?
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted May 19, 2003 With my fuzzy math, it looks like I managed to lose $1,500. So I now have like, $1,000. I'll be out of this by next month..
Guest Boomer Sprinklespax Report post Posted May 19, 2003 By my calculations, I made $240. Good thing I didn't put most of it on Team Angle like I had originally planned.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 19, 2003 I have no idea how well or not I did, because I don't know how the odds work. From what I can gather though, I either broke even or gained a little.
Guest Space_Cowboy Report post Posted May 19, 2003 I tried working out what i ended up with, but i'm too stupid to work out these wacky new rules. My $1000 loss on Team Angle was the only one i got wrong though, so i should be at least even or make a bit of a profit.
Ultimo Dugas 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2003 Yes you can creativename, you were lucky to escape my axe as I was removing some dead weight recently. But, according to my records, I didn't cut you so you can start gambling again, yes.

Guest Bannable Offense Report post Posted May 19, 2003 I went 5/8 (assuming Nash/Trips will be thrown out due to a NC) and by my calculations, made some cash, but not much. A positive gain is all I could ask for in my debut.
Guest j.o.b. squad Report post Posted May 19, 2003 yeah me too by my calculations if nash and peperation h is thrown out i iwll of made around about 18 bucks. but i am probably off a bit
