What was Bob Backlund's official time in the 93 Royal Rumble?

I'm pretty sure he was in for 63 minutes. I don't know what the official WWE approved time is though.

I timed it as 1:01:10.

Flair's, the previous year, was 59:31.

Backlund's record stood until 2004 when Benoit broke it with 1:01:34. Then Rey broke that with 1:02:15.

How did RVD get the title shot at No Mercy 2001 and how was he able to stay in the Alliance afterwards following the match?

How many times did Lex Luger switch between being a heel and a face during his career? What were the circumstances of each change? Thanks.

As far as I remember, there was no winning the title shot. Foley just made the match and put RVD in it.

The buildup of the match seemingly built to Austin and RVD feuding with each other over leadership of the Alliance, but considering they were scrapping the whole invasion angle a month later, there was no followup to the angle after the match.

4.) Hogan and Flair faced off against each other in a singles televised match in December 1991 shown on the Madison Square Garden Network. They would not face each again in the WWF until May 2002 on an episode of RAW where Hogan defended the Undisputed Title against RAW GM Flair.

On the 2nd to last episode of SNME, Hulk Hogan teamed up with Sid Justice to take on Ric Flair and the Undertaker. Sid turned heel.

There's also a match on Battle of the WWF Superstars 1992 where Hulk Hogan teams up with IC Champ Roddy Piper to take on Ric Flair and Sid Justice.

Off the top of my head in WCW:

Bash At The Beach 1994 - Hogan's first WCW match, defeats Flair to win the WCW Title

Halloween Havoc 1994 - Hogan defeats Flair in a Steel Cage Retirement Match, retaining the WCW title

I was there for the msg match as well as the tag match with sid and piper I dont remmeber much about them though

Superbrawl 9 - Hogan defeats Flair courtesy of David Flair's heel turn, retaining the WCW title

Uncensored 1999 - In one of the strangest match endings ever in prowrestling history, Flair defeats Hogan via pinfall in a First Blood Steel Cage Match to win the WCW title.

Uncensored 2000 - Hogan defeats Flair in a Strap match.

Another one I remember from WCW:

Monday Nitro (January 29, 1996) - Flair defeats Hogan after using Woman's shoe, retaining the WCW title.

Flair won via Shoe shot as well?

Arn beat Hogan on back to back weeks on Nitro in a similar manner

I'm pretty sure the back to back weeks you are thinking of were Flair AND Arn beating Hogan with the deadly shoe.

I remember literally rolling on the floor laughing when the WWF did a parody of this in the Billionaire Ted skits.

Non-title. Savage was champion and lost to The Giant by DQ in about 30 seconds that night.

This is something that has been bothering me for damn near ten years. Hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about.

Around 1996, whenever the WWF would advertise their "Superstar Hotline" they would have this generic music playing in the background. Why was it the EXACT SAME music that Lex Luger used for his WCW entrance music, even during his small stint as WCW Champion? Is it, like, general music that anyone can use? If so, why did WCW give one of their top three guys at the time THAT music? The Giant also used it during this timespan of his team with Luger, and a lot of jobbers used it at certain points too. I'm also pretty sure that the WWF used it for other things besides just the background music for commercials. Does anyone know who used it first, and why they both used it? It's not even good music.

Yeah, it was stock/production music companies can license out for use. In 1998/9, Marc Mero and Renegade had the exact same theme. I believe it's titled "Rough Rock".

If a late 1990s WCW theme wasn't ripping off an already famous tune, it was probably production music.

I remember William Shatner was on an episode of RAW, what was up with that?

He was promoting his new show called Technoir or something like that. Or that may have been the club Sarah Connor went to in the Terminator. Anyways, it was a cheap sci-fi show that came on after Raw on USA for like 6 weeks. After which I believe Silk Stalkings took its rightful place after Raw.

For the record, it was Tekwar.

Generic "Public Domain" instrumentals are good for cheap, quick and dirty things thrown together if you have a lack of thought process. And WCW was such a company through the years

I think at one point Chris Jericho came out to ESPN Baseball Tonight music! (not the main theme but one of the bridges they use)

So its even doubtfull that the WWF originated the piece, usually they copyright everything they do in-house

When did the Beserker, Barbarian, and the Warlord leave WWF, and when did they show up in WCW?

yea that song was his first WCW theme and I used to think it was awesome (still mark out when they use it for ESPN)

other good ones were Malenko's and Benoit's (which I heard on Ricki Lake and other talk shows back in the day)

I'm pretty sure that the WWF were just out of ideas for Candido, not to mention his "habits", so they let him go. I think they still felt that Sunny was marketable, so they had her host a few shows and manage LOD, before she was let go too.

That's just my guess.

I do know for a fact that they were still together at the time, as she showed up to nearly every ECW Arena show in cognito.

Why did Chris Candido leave the WWF in 1996 for ECW, but not Sunny?

What was the status of their relationship then, and did Chris have any say in her leaving in 98?

Chris Candido quit the WWF on October 22nd 1996 after he was asked to work as trainer alongside his former tag team partner Tom Prichard.

Sunny was fired from the WWF in August 1998 after refusing to accept help for her drug problem. The two were still together at the time.

I asked this question on another board but I haven't gotten an answer so I'll try here. Anyways,I was looking through CRZ old RAW reviews from 93 and I found something intriguing. On the 9-27-93 episode (The one with the WWF Intercontinental title battle royal), Jimmy Snuka made an appearence, winning a squash match with the Superfly Splash. I looked on Graham's site for results in September/October of 93 and I saw that Jimmy Snuka wrestled a match against a young Brian Christopher at a house show at Madison Square Garden.

Anyways, I was wondering what the deal was with Snuka's return? Was it supposed to be a couple of matches deal? Or were there long term plans for Superfly? Snuka was beyond washed up in 93, so I'm going to have to guess it was supposed to be a short term deal but if you're going to trot out an old legend why do it in the middle of the year on a random episode of RAW and not on a pay per view? Anyone know what was up with Snuka's return in 93?

You know how sometimes the WWF and now the WWE as it is unfortunately called has had title matches I mean World Title obviously well has a face ever won the title during one of these matches? I feel like the face always retains or the heel always wins and the face has never won the title during one of these matches.

Thanks.

WOW Sunny was in the WWF that late. I am very surprised. Interesting info.

Thanks.

I've read this post about a half dozen times and still can't figure out what you are trying to ask.

I've read this post about a half dozen times and still can't figure out what you are trying to ask.

For example Survivor Series 1991 or Royal Rumble 1991 or Survior Series 1994 when the title changes hands but the title match is not the main event. Has a face ever won the title in that situation. I feel that usually a heel wins the title. However I figured out my answer as I was typing this and it is WrestleMania VIII when Randy Savage defeated Ric Flair for the WWF Title in the middle of the show.

Thanks.

So you're asking if faces have ever won a World Title Match?

Well how the hell can faces RETAIN a title if he didn't win it in the first place? are you like for real or someone's idea of a Forrest Gump gimmick poster?

I'd like to add The Nasty Boys to that question.

The Nastys' last TV appearance:

WWF @ Tucson, AZ - Convention Center - April 6, 1993

WWF Superstars taping:

5/8/93 - featured a closing segment in which Raymond Rougeau interviewed Giant Gonzalez and Harvey Wippleman regarding Gonzalez' KOTR Qualifying match with Tatanka the following week:

Mr. Hughes, WWF Tag Team Champions Ted Dibiase & IRS defeated Kamala (w/ Slick) & the Nasty Boys when IRS pinned Kamala with a roll up at 7:36 after Kamala became distracted after hitting the splash on IRS but not realizing he had to roll him over onto his back

They were on WCW TV by August and won the belts a month later.
